HONESTY OF A SANTRI

It is said that the santri are discussing his kya behavior that always begat his santri. Hearing the conversation, the kyai called them. To his disciples, the kyai said:

"Take this bird, and slay it where no one knows."

The santri also rushed to bring the bird given by the kyai with the cutter at once. They spread throughout the place that was considered deserted. Some go behind houses, yards, under bridges, and so on.

Proudly, they brought back the cut bird. While one santri returned with a bird that was still alive. All the santri mocked him by saying:

"Based on the beloved santri, are you afraid you don't dare to cut the bird?" The santri is silent while heading to the house of the kyai.

Arriving at the kyai house, the santri said,

"We have done what we have commanded, except this one santri. Apparently, santri who has been kyai dear is a coward."

Then the kyai asked the santri who did not fulfill the order,

"why didn't you obey my orders?"

The santri replied,

"Kyai, how can I fulfill kyai's request, while I don't find a place that no one can see."

The kyai asked for another affirmation, though,

"Please explain why you didn't fulfill my order?"

"There is no place in this world deserted from the sight of God and his angel. The Angels Rakib and Atid are always watching what humans do. That's why I can't keep kyai's orders."

Sang Kyai proudly told the other santri,

Everyone was stunned to hear Kyai's statement.

ABU HANIFAH AND HIS NEIGHBOURS

In Kufa, Abu Hanifa had a neighbor who was a cobbler. Towards night he went home. Usually, he brought souvenirs in the form of meat to cook or a large fish to burn.

After eating, he continued to drink incessantly while singing and only stopped far away the night after he felt very sleepy, then fell asleep. Abu Hanifah who had been used to praying all night, of course was disturbed by the sound of the cobbler singing.

But, he just kept it quiet. One night, Abu Hanifa no longer heard his neighbor singing as usual. When he came out to find out, according to another neighbor, he had just been arrested by the police and detained.

After the dawn prayer, when it was still morning, Abu Hanifa took his bigal to the palace. He wanted to see Amir Kufa. He was greeted with great service and respect. The Amir himself was pleased to meet him.

"Is there anything I can help you with?" Ask the Amir.

"My neighbor the cobbler yesterday was arrested by the police. Please release him from custody, Amir" replied Abu Hanifa.

"Well," said Amir, who immediately ordered the prison police to release the newly arrested neighbor yesterday evening.

Abu Hanifah came home with his bigal slowly. The cobbler was walking behind him. When he arrived home, Abu Hanifa went down and turned to his neighbor and said, ''Abu Hanifa said,

"How could I not let you down, right?"

"Not m, not even the other way around," he added.

"Thank you, may Allah reward you with virtue."

Since then he no longer repeated his habit, so Abu Hanifa could feel more solemn in his worship every night.
