The First Person Sentenced In The Hereafter

       The Prophet said: "On the Day of Resurrection Allah will punish all creatures and all creatures bent on their knees. On that day the first one to be called is the one who understands the Quran, the second one who dies is fisabilillah and the third one is the rich one. 

       Allah will ask those who understand the Quran: "Have I not taught you what I have sent down to My Messenger?. The man replied: "Yes my Lord. I've learned it at night and done it by day." Allah says: "Liar! You only want to be called Qari and Qariah, angels also say so." The second man came, and God said: "Why were you killed?." The man replied: "I have fought to establish Your religion." Allah says: "Liar! You just want to be called a valiant hero and you have got the title, the angel said so too." 

       Then came the man when he said: "What did you make of the treasure I gave you?." The man replied: "I used it to help my family and also to give alms." Then Allah says: "Liar! You just want to be called a benefactor and you've been recognized, angels also say so." The word of the Prophet s.a.w. again: "These three shall first be burned in the fire of hell."

Two Spirits Tortured In Hell

       God does not need the charity of His servants. He commands His servant to do charity, none other than that he confesses that he is weak (i'tiraf) and always needs help. This kind of confession is very important. It is said that there were two spirits tortured in hell. God then ordered that both be expelled. After coming out, God asked them, "What caused you to go to hell?" 

       "Our passions" they answered. "Didn't I have forbidden you to worship Me? Have I not sent My apostles with clear evidence? And have I not said through the words of the scholars that whoever obeys will have heaven, palace, wildan and angel, while the one who performs will dwell in hell with Qarun, Pharaoh and Haman?" "Right, but we disobey and always worship Thee." 

       "Go back to hell, and feel My torment" God commanded. One soul rushed back, but the other spirit walked reluctantly while occasionally looking back. "Why are you walking so fast?" ask God the first spirit. 

       "O Lord, I used to defy Your commandments, now I should obey You." "And you, why don't you go back to hell soon?" ask God for the second spirit. "I greatly hope for Your forgiveness, for it is impossible that you will return us to Hell after freeing us from it." 

       "Put you two into heaven. Come in, for you have obeyed My commandments. And come in, for you believe in My mercy and mercy."

       At one time, an abid read the Quran, the surah "Thoha", in his room near the street. After reading, he felt very sleepy, then fell asleep. In his sleep he dreamed of seeing a man descend from the sky carrying the Quran. 

       The man came to see him and immediately opened the scripture in front of him. The revelation of the surah "Thoha" and the trailing of it page by page for the abid's gaze. The abid saw that every word of the Surah was recorded ten virtues as his recitation reward except for one word whose record was extinguished. 

       Then he said, "By Allah, I have read the whole Surah without leaving a word". "But why is the note of reward for this word extinguished?" The man said. 

       "It's exactly as you say it is. You did not leave that word in your reading. In fact, for that word we have recorded his reward, but suddenly we heard a voice calling from the direction of 'Arasy: 'Enlighten the note and recite the reward for it'. That's why we immediately put it out". 

       Abid wept in his dream and said, "Why was it done?". 

       "The cause is you. While reading the Surah, a servant of God passed by the road in front of your house. You realize this, and you lift up your reading voice to be heard by the servant of God. 

The word without the record of reward is what you have read in that high voice". 

Abid woke up from his sleep. "Astaghfirullaahal-'Azhim! What a slippery virus riya' infiltrated into my heart and really big accident. In the blink of an eye my worship was destroyed. 

Surely the word alim ulama', the attack of riya' disease or ujub, can destroy the worship of a servant of God for seventy years".
