From Ibn Mas'ud ra that he said: When the death of the Prophet was near, he gathered us at the house of Siti Aisha ra. Then he looked at us with tears in his eyes, and said:
"Marhaban bicum, may Allah extend the life of you all, may Allah love, help and guide you. I will give you the word to fear Allah. I am as a warner to you. Do not be arrogant toward God." Allah says: "Happiness and enjoyment in the Hereafter. We have made for those who do not wish to boast and cause harm to the earth. And the end of heaven is for those who fear."
Then we asked: "Will it be his death, O Messenger of Allah? He replied: My deed is near, and will move to the hadhrat of God, to Sidratulmuntaha and to Jannatul Makwa and to Arsyi la' la." We asked again: "Who shall bathe him, O Messenger of Allah? The Prophet replied: One of the temple experts. We asked: "How shall we persecute him, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "With my clothes or the clothes of Yamaniyah." We asked: "Who is it that insults him among us?" We cried and the Prophet cried too.
Then he said: "Relax, may Allah forgive you all. When all of you have bathed me and made me holy, I will be on my bed, in my house, by my grave, and all of you will come out from my side. So the first to insulate me was my friend Jibril as. Then Michael, then Israfil then Angel Izrail (Angel of Death) and his army. Then enter you as well as possible. And let those who begin to pray are the men of my family, then the women, and then all of you."
Since that day, the Prophet of the SAW increased his pain, which he endured for 18 days, every day many who visited him, until the arrival of Monday, when he breathed his last breath. The day before his death on Sunday, his illness grew more serious. On that day, after Bilal ibn Rabah had finished his chastisement, he stood at the door of the house of the Prophet Muhammad, then greeted him: "Assalamualaikum o Rasulullah?" Then he said again "Assolah yarhamukallah." Fatimah replied: "Rasulullah is sick?" So Bilal returned to the mosque, when the light of the earth was illuminated by the noon sun, and Bilal came again to the place of the Messenger of Allah, and he said as he had said. Then the Prophet called him and told him to come in. After Bilal ibn Rabah entered, the Prophet said: "I am now sick, O Bilal, you have ordered Abu Bakr to be a priest in prayer." So Bilal went out and put his hands on his head and said: "Oh, how good would it be if I had not been born of my mother?" Then he entered the mosque and told Abu Bakr to become an imam in the prayer. When Abu Bakr looked at the empty place of the Prophet SAW, as a gentle man, he could not help his feelings anymore, then he screamed and finally he fainted.
The people who were in the mosque became noisy so that it was heard by the Prophet Muhammad SAW. He asked: "O Fatimah, what is the noise? Fatimah Rha replied: "The people are confused because the Prophet of Allah is not with them." Then the Prophet called Ali bin Abi Talib and Ibn Abbas ra, while being guided by the two of them, so he walked towards the mosque. The king prayed two rakaats, after which he looked at the crowd and said:
"Yes ma'aasyiral Muslimin, you are all in the care and protection of Allah, He is my successor over you all after I am gone. I command you all to fear Allah SWT, for I will leave this mortal world. Today is my first day into the afterlife, and as my last day in this world."
After arriving at the door of the Prophet's residence, the Angel of Death said: "Assalamualaikum O prophet, the source of revelation and treatise!"
Fatimah Rha said to her guest: "O Abdullah (Hamba Allah), the Messenger of Allah is now sick." Then the Angel of Death greeted him again: "Assalamualaikum. Can I come in?" Finally the Prophet heard the voice of the Angel of Death, and he asked his daughter Fatimah: "Who is at the door? Fatimah replied: "A man called my father, I told him that he was sick. Then he called out once more in a voice that shook the tribe." The Prophet said: "Are you who he is?"Fatimah replied: "No, my lord." Then the Prophet explained: "O Fatimah, he is the desirator of error, the disconnector of desire, the separation of the congregation and the one who enliven the tomb."
Then the Prophet said: "Come in, O Angel of Death. Then the Angel of Death entered while saying `Assalamualaika, Messenger of Allah." The Prophet replied: Waalaikassalam Ya Angel of Death. Have you come to pilgrimage or to uproot my life?" The Angel of Death replied: "I came for the pilgrimage and took my life. If you allow me to do it, otherwise I will go home. The Prophet asked: "O Angel of Death, where did you leave my love Gabriel? "I live it in the sky of the world?" Answer the Angel of Death.
Just as the Angel of Death finished speaking, suddenly Jibril came and sat down beside the Messenger of Allah SAW.Then said the Prophet SAW: "O Jibril, do you not know that my death is near? Gabriel replied: Yes, O beloved of Allah." The Prophet said: "Tell me, O Gabriel, what has Allah prepared for me by his side? Gabriel said: "that the gates of heaven have been opened, and the angels have been lined up to receive your spirit." His Majesty said: "All praise and thanks be to my Lord. O Gabriel, what else has Allah prepared for me? Gabriel answered again: that the gates of Heaven have been opened, and the angels have been decorated, the rivers have flowed, and the fruits have been ripe, all awaiting the coming of your spirit." His Majesty said: "All praise and thanks be to my Lord. Tell me again, O Gabriel, what else has God prepared for me? Gabriel replied: I give glad tidings to you. It is the master who is first allowed to intercede on the day of the Resurrection." Then the Prophet said: "All praise and gratitude, I offer to my Lord.
O Gabriel tell me again about the glad tidings?" Gabriel asked: "O beloved of God, what exactly do you want to ask? The Prophet replied: "About my anxiety, what will be gained by those who read the Quran after me? What will be gained by those who fast in Ramadan after me? What will be gained by those who make pilgrimages to Baitul Haram after me?" Gabriel replied: "I bring glad tidings to him. Verily Allah has said: I have forbidden Paradise for all Prophets and people, until you and your people enter it first." So the Prophet said: "Now, calm my heart and my feelings.
O Angel of Death, come near to me?" Then the Angel of Death was near the Prophet SAW. Ali asked: "O Prophet Muhammad, who will bathe him and who will shower him? The Prophet replied: The one who bathes me is you, O Ali, while Ibn Abbas doused his water and Gabriel will bring hanuth (fragrant oil) from Heaven. Then the Angel of Death began to take the life of the Prophet. When his spirit reached the center of the belly, he said: "O Gabriel, how painful is death." Hearing the Prophet's words, Gabriel turned his face away. Then the Prophet asked: "O Gabriel, do you not like to look at my face? Gabriel said: O beloved of Allah, who can see his face, while he feels the pain of death?" Finally the noble spirit left the body of the Prophet SAW. Sadness Friend Says Anas Ra: "When I went through the door of Aisha's house I heard her crying, saying: O people who never wear silk. O you who come out of the world with a stomach never full of wheat. O one who has chosen a mat from the layover. O people who rarely sleep at night for fear of Hell Sa'ir."
