Narrated from Mali bin Dinar, he was asked about the reasons he repented, so he said: "I am a policeman and I am enjoying khamr, he said, then I bought a slave girl with a high price, so she gave birth to a daughter, I love her too. When she started walking, my love increased. Every time I put liquor in front of me the boy came to me and took it and poured it on my shirt, when he was two years old he died, so I was very sad for this disaster.
When the night is in the middle of the month and it is on Friday night, I take a sip of khamr and then sleep yet to pray Isya'. So I dreamt as if the qiyamat were happening, and the trumpet was blown, the dead were raised, all beings were gathered and I was with them, and then I heard something moving behind me, when I turned towards him I saw a very large, bluish-black snake open its mouth towards me, so I ran away in fear, in the middle of the road I met a sheikh dressed in white with a fragrant fragrance, so I saluted him and he answered, so I said: "O Shaykh ! Please protect me from this serpent, may Allah protect you". So the shaykh wept and said to me: "I am a weak man and the serpent is stronger than me and I am unable to overcome it, but hurry you may Allah save you", so I ran and climbed up a cliff of Hell until I reached the end of the cliff, I saw the terrible flames of Hell, almost falling into it because of my fear of the serpent. But at that time a cry called out to me, "Return you because you are not the dweller of Hell!", I heard it, so I came down from the cliff and went home. The snake that was chasing me also came back. I came to the shaykh and I said, "O Shaykh, I beg you to protect me from the serpent but you are not able to do anything". The shaykh cried and said, "I am a weak man, but go to the mountain, for there are many Muslim deposits, if you have a stash there, it will help you"
I looked at that round mountain made of silver. There was a cracked iron and curtains hanging down that every hole of light had gold door leaves and in each leaf the door had a silk curtain. When I saw the mountain, I ran away because I found another big snake. And when the serpent approached me, the angels cried out: "Bless the curtains, and open the doors, and go up there!" Hopefully he's got a deposit there that can protect him from his enemy (snake). When the curtains were lifted and the doors were opened, there were some children with radiant faces watching me from above. The serpent drew near to me and I was confused, and cried out to the children: "Ware you! Hurry up because the great serpent has approached him". So they went up at once, and I saw my dead daughter watching me with them. When he saw me, he cried and said: "My father, by Allah!" Then he jumped like an arrow to me, then he put his left hand on my right hand and pulled it, then he extended his right hand to the snake, but the animal ran away.
Malik said: "I was afraid and I poured all the liquor and I broke all the bottles and I repented to Allah, and this is the story of my repentance to God".
