The Story of the Shepherd and the Story of Ibn Hajar.



THE STORY OF THE GOAT HERDER.



Abdullah bin Dinar walked together


Caliph Umar ibn Khattab from Medina to Mecca.At the way, they met both with the shepherd's son.The Caliph was about to try to test the shepherd.


"O shepherd boy, sell me a goat from your cattle" said Amirul Mukminin.


"i am only a slave" answered the shepherd.


"goats are so many.does your master know?"bujuk Caliph.


"No!my master did not know how many goats he had, he did not know how many goats died and how many were born, he never checked and counted them" said the slave.


"if so lost one goat, your master will not know.or tell your master later the goat boy was eaten by wolves.This is the money, accept it!just take it for you to buy clothes or bread" Caliph Umar continued to persuade.


The shepherd boy remained unpersuaded and ignored the money offered by Umar.Si the shepherd was silent for a moment.Given his face Amirul Mukminin.From his lips spoken words that shook the heart of Caliph Umar.


"If you tell me to lie, then where is God?Is not God seeing?Are you not sure that God knows who is lying?"


Umar bin Khattab trembled at the shepherd's words .Fear ran through his whole body, his bones were weak.He wept at the words of Tawhid that reminded him of the majesty of Allah SWT.and his responsibilities before him.Then he brought the shepherd boy who had the status of a slave to his master, The Caliph redeemed him, and said to him: "I have set you free".

IBN HAJAR \(THE STONE CHILD\)




Finally Ibn Hajar returned home.At the way, the rain fell heavily.He was forced to take shelter in a cave.at time in the cave, when,he heard the rustling sound of water dripping on a very large rock.The large stone was hollow because it had been exposed for years to water droplets.Seeing the hollow stone, finally Ibn Hajar pondered.He thought, He thought,this large and hard stone long ago hollowed out only because of water droplets.why did I lose to the stone?though my mind and mind are not as hard as a stone, it means that I lack long and diligent learning.



After thinking, finally Ibn Hajar returned again to the cottage to meet the kyai.he also studied again with great enthusiasm.The effort was not in vain.He managed to become a pious man, he was, from the origin of the story of the stone in the cave, this is then he was given the name Ibn Hajar \(Child of the Rock\).

IMAM SYAFI'I SALUTES HIS TEACHER


It is said, Imam Shafi'i who was teaching his students in class, suddenly surprised by the arrival of someone dressed shabby, shabby,Shabby and dirty.At that time Imam Shafi'i approached and hugged him.Santri was shocked and astonished to see the behavior of his teacher.they asked:"Who is he, O teacher, until you hug him tightly.when he is seedy, dirty, and disgusting?"


Imam Shafi'i replied


"he taught me about the difference between a dog that is old enough to a dog that is still small.Knowledge that is what makes me able to write this fiqh book."


It is noble the morality of the imam Shafi'i.He respects all his teacher teachers, even from ordinary Society.
