Those Who Have Passed Do Not Need to Be Regretted

Once upon a time, there was a young man who got an inheritance from his parents. Because it belongs to a simple family, he only got a little money and a few books. Before he died, his father said, “My son, these books are treasures of infinite value. I give it to you, read it and study it. Hopefully your fate will change for the better. And this is a little money, use it to connect life and work diligently to support yourself.”

Before long, the money left behind was used up. For a moment he looked at his father's books. He remembered a message from his parents to learn from the book. Because he was lazy, he took a shortcut. The book was sold to a friend who wanted to buy out of pity. Instead, he got rice for daily meals.

A little while later, the young man had to start working hard to get his life together. To his surprise, the friend who used to buy his book, now his life looks comfortable and more advanced. Curious to know, what made this friend succeed his life, he came and asked.

Although he did not want to open a secret, after being urged and pity to see the fate of the young man, finally the friend opened. “Actually, I was greatly helped by the book you sold me. I bought the book because I felt sorry for you. I just left it dusty in the corner. One day, a fad out of curiosity, I read it and it turns out, wahh.it's great! An amazing life lesson.”

“Not that,” connect his friend. “In the book was tucked into a message, so that the reader after mastering the contents of the book would practice in earnest. Really, I'm lucky I got that book from you. Look, my life has changed. Actually, where did your books come from?”

Hearing his friend's story, the young man was very sorry. His father's estate was far more valuable than he thought. Because he is lazy to read, now he is just a manual worker who lives his way.

“The book is actually a legacy from my parents,” replied the young man. “Honestly, I was lazy to read it and did not know that my father kept a very valuable message. Really, I'm sorry. Friend, can I borrow those books back to start my new life? I want to be able to change my life for the better.”

An old man was lying weakly in a hospital. A young man came to see him every day and spent hours with the old man. The young man fed her, cleaned her up, and guided her for a walk in the garden, then helped her back to lie down. The young man had just left after feeling that the old man could already be left behind.

Once the nurse who came to give medicine and check the condition of the parents said, “Father has a devoted child. Every day he comes to take care of my father. Really lucky yes, Mr.”

The old man looked at the nurse for a moment, then closed his eyes. In a sad tone, the old man said, “I wish, if it were one of my children. He was an orphan living in our neighborhood. Once, I saw him cry after his father's death. I comforted her and bought her candy. After that I never talked to him again.

Then when he found out that my wife and I were alone, he visited every day to make sure we were okay. When my physical condition began to decline, he invited me and my wife to stay at his house, then routinely took me to the hospital to check my health condition.

I once asked him, ‘Nak, why do you bother to take care of us?’ Smiling the boy replied, ‘The sweetness of the candy still feels in my mouth, Sir.’”
