Hasan Al-Bashri's Dreams & Stories of the Prophet Danial a.s with the Lion.

Hasan Al\ - Bashri's Dream

       Between Hasan Al-Bashri and Ibn Sirin there is a sense of sentiment. The two did not want to greet each other. Every time he heard someone else welcome Ibn Sirin's name, Hasan Al-Bashri disliked him: "Don't mention the name of the man who walked with such arrogance before me" he said. 

       One night Hasan Al-Bashri dreamed as if he was naked in an animal cage while making a stick. In the morning when he woke up, he was confused by his dream. Suddenly he remembered that Ibn Sirin who he was less fond of was a person who was good at interpreting dreams. 

       Embarrassed to meet himself, he asked a close friend for help: "Get Ibn Sirin, and tell me this dream as if you experienced it yourself" he said. Hasan Al-Bashri's close friend soon met Ibn Sirin. As soon as he finished telling the contents of the dream, Ibn Sirin immediately said: 

       "Tell the person who has experienced this dream, do not ask the person who walks with pride. If you dare tell him to come here himself." 

       Hearing the report delivered by his friend, Hasan Al-Bashri upset. He was confused, and felt challenged. After thinking for a moment, he finally decided to meet directly with Ibn Sirin. He doesn't care about shame or prestige. 

       "Take me there" he said. Upon seeing the arrival of Hasan Al-Bashri, Ibn Sirin welcomed him well. After greeting each other and shaking hands, each took a seat a little far apart. 

       "Here we go, we don't have to mince words. Immediately, I was confused thinking about and interpreting a dream," said Hasan Al-Bashri. 

       "Don't be confused" said Ibn Sirin." Naked in your dream it is the nudity of the world. That is to say, you do not depend on him at all because you are an unjust person. The animal's cage is the epitome of the mortal world itself. You have clearly seen the true situation. While a stick that you make is a symbol of wisdom that you say, and benefits many people." 

       Hasan Al-Bashri was amazed. He was amazed at the greatness of Ibn Sirin as a dream interpreter, and believed very strongly in his explanation. 

       "But how do you know that I had that dream?" ask Hasan Al-Bashri. 

       "When your friend told me about the dream, I thought, in my opinion, only you deserve it." replied Ibn Sirin. 

The Prophet Danial a.s. With Lion

       One time, King Bukhatnezzar came to Jerusalem from the land of Sham. He killed the Israelites and forcibly captured the city of Jerusalem and captured many of them. Among those held captive was the prophet Danial. 

In other historical redactions it is mentioned: 

       There was a Prophet in the time of the Children of Israel, long after Moses died, his name was Danial a.s. He was lied to by his people. In fact, he was finally snatched by the powerful king at that time and thrown into the cage of a lion that had been displayed. 

       After Allah saw, how much fear he had, and his patience, only for wishing His pleasure, then Allah prevented the mouths of the lions from eating them. Even until Danial stood on his two feet before the lion who was submissive and no longer harmed. Then Allah sent Irmiya from Sham so that Danial could get out of this problem and destroy the one who wanted to destroy him'. 

       From Abdullah ibn Abil Hudail, he said: "Bukhtanashar has trained two lions to hunt and put them in a cage. Then he led Danial and threw him at the beast. But the lion did not bother him at all. Danial, with the permission of God, for some time stayed in the cage. Suddenly - one moment - he wanted to eat and drink like everyone else. So Allah b.c.t. commanded by revelation to Irmiya who was then in Sham, to provide Danial food and drink. So he said: "O Rabbi, I am now in the holy land (Baitul Maqdis), while Danial is in the city of Babylon in the land of Iraq." Then Allah revealed to him: "Prepare what I have commanded you. I'll send an emissary who will take you there with what you've prepared." Finally Irmiya carried out the command and Allah sent messengers who brought him and the food he prepared. Arriving in front of the lion's cage; 

Danial said: "Who is this?" 

Irmiya: "I'm Irmiya." 

Danial: "Why did you come here?" 

Irmiya: "I was sent by your Lord to meet you." 

Danial: "Did He say my name?" 

Irmiya: "Yes." 

       Danial: "Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah who does not forget those who remember Him. Praise be to Allah, if anyone trusts in Him, He will give him enough. Praise be to Allah that if anyone believes in Him, He will not give his business to others. Praise be to Allah for the salvation of patience. Praise be to God who has revealed our difficulties after the calamity. Praise be to Allah, He is our place of trust, when we are prejudiced against our practices. Praise be to God, He is our place of hope, when all means are closed before us."
