The Prophet's Smile.

When marrying his youngest daughter, Sayyidah Fatimah Az Zahrah, with the friend of Ali bin Abi Talib, His Majesty Muhammad SAW a big smile. It was a happy event.

The same thing was also shown by the Prophet at the event of Fathu Makkah, the liberation of Makkah, because it was a day of great victory for the Muslims. “That day was a day full of long smiles engraved from the lips of the Prophet and the lips of all Muslims” Ibn Hisham wrote in us as Sirah Nabawiyyah.

The Prophet is a gentle and smiling person. However, he did not give a smile to just anyone. So special was the smile of the Apostle that Abu Bakr and Umar, his two main companions, were often flabbergasted and noticed the meaning of the smile.

For example, they were surprised to see the Apostle laughing while in Muzdalifah at the end of the night. “Verily Master is not used to laughing at a time like this,” Umar said. “What caused the Master to laugh?” At such times, the end of the night, the Prophet usually prayed solemnly’.

Realizing that his smile was not arbitrary, even containing a certain meaning, Umar hoped, “May Allah make You laugh throughout the life of”.

On the question above, the Apostle replied, “When the devil knows that Allah granted my prayers and forgave my people, he picks up the sand and throws it on his head, exclaiming, ‘my, perish me!’ Seeing that I laughed.” (HR Ibn Majah)

In the book of Ihya Ulumuddin, Imam Ghazali wrote, when the Apostle was called, he always replied, “Labbaik”. This shows how humble he is. Similarly, the Apostle has never rejected someone with the greeting “not” when asked for something. Even when he had nothing, he never refused anyone's request. “I have nothing,” said the Apostle, “But, buy it on my behalf. And if the concerned comes charging, I will pay for it.”

Many things can make the Apostle laugh without knowing the cause of his moses. This is usually related to the descent of God's revelation. For example, when he was sitting around and saw someone eating. At the last mouthful the man uttered. “Bismillahi fi awalihi wa endihi.” At that moment he laughed. Of course the man was astonished.

The astonishment was answered by saying, “So I saw the devil coming to eat with him. But as soon as he read the basmalah, the demon spewed out the food he had swallowed.” Apparently the man did not say basmalah when he started eating.

One day Umar was stunned to see the smile of the Prophet. Not yet he asked, the Prophet had preceded asking, “Ya Umar, do you know why I smile?”

“God and His Apostle certainly know better,” replied Umar.

“Verily Allah looks upon you with compassion and mercy at night Arafat, and makes you the key of Islam,” his word.

The Prophet often even replied to the insinuations of people with a smile. For example, when a Bedouin who listened to his Taushiyah suddenly fell, “Ya Rasul, that person must be a Quraysh or Anshar, because they like to grow crops, while we are not.”

At that time the Apostle was telling the dialogue between a resident of heaven and Allah SWT who asked to be allowed to grow crops in heaven. Allah SWT reminded him that everything he wanted was already available in heaven.

Because since the world has a hobby of farming, he also took some grains, then he planted. Soon the seed grew into a tree up to the height of a mountain, fruited, and then harvested. Then Allah SWT said. “It won't make you full, take another.”

That's when the Bedouin interrupts, “It must be a Quraysh or Anshar. They like to grow crops, we don't.”

Hearing that the Apostle smiled, not angry at all. He was also a Quraysh.

One time it was the Prophet who asked the Companions, “Do you guys why I laughed?.” “God and His Messenger know better,” replied the Companions. Then the Apostle told of the dialogue between a servant and Allah SWT. The man said, “I don't allow witnesses against me except myself.”

Then Allah SWT replied, “Alright, enough of yourselves to bear witness against you, and the angel noted as a witness.”

Then the man's mouth was silenced to be silent, while his limbs were commanded to speak. The members of the body also gave their own testimony. Then the man is welcome to consider the testimony of his limbs.

But the guy snapped, “Go to you, woe to you!” I used to always try, fight, and keep you well,” he said.

The apostle laughed when he saw the sinner thinking that his limbs would defend him and save him. He thought that the limb could save him from the flames of hell. But it turned out that the limb was an adverse witness, because it gave the actual testimony (HR Anas bin Malik).

It reminds us of the verse 65 of Surah Yasin, which means, “Today We shut them up, and said to Us their hands, and testify their feet to what they used to do.”
