The shier has finished reciting. The Caliph could only be caught off guard and amazed to see the shier. The Caliph did not repeat it. The Caliph called his two servants, however, the two servants were also unable to repeat the shirks that al-Ashmu’I had read.

The Caliph finally surrendered and acknowledged al-Assmu’i's victory. The Caliph said, “Bring here the shier, written on what your shier was.” “Okay, Caliph, I inherited a marble pillar from my father, on the surface of the pillar I carved my shirik temples. No one can carry the pole unless his strength is equivalent to four warriors”. The caliph who had lost the battle had no choice. Finally the pole was sent to the palace to be weighed with gold as a gift al-Ashmu’i.

When al-Ashmu’i was about to get out of the palace with his gift, a guard told the Caliph, “Wahai, Caliph, please stop him. I suspected that he was al-Ashmu’i. When his veil was exposed, it was true that it was al-Ashmu’i. Feeling deceived, the caliph then asked, “Why are you doing this in front of me.” “You have cut off the rizki of poets with your deception, O Caliph. The Caliph did not accept and demanded his property be returned. Al-Ashmu’i insisted on refusing. The Caliph did not accept. Al-Ashmu’i finally agreed to return the gold on the condition that the Caliph also gave a prize to the poets who should have been awarded for winning the poetry race. And Alhamdulillah, the Caliph also agreed.

Although very famous, but there is still a lot of debate about the “aktor” in the story. Some deny it is not al-Ashmu’i. There are also those who argue that the story occurred during the reign of Caliph Harun Ar-Rashid, not Abu Jakfar al-Manshur.

_Well, friends have not spoken yet? Hehe.

what moral message?

we must not be arrogant in the least with the skills we have, because there are still people who are greater than us.

After all, arrogant is the shawl of Allah.if we are arrogant means we presumptuously take the scarf of Allah SWT.
