"I won't ask you much about your herd's internal problems, but you'll have to explain everything to me, as well as Chloe, if the time is right."
Grace added while digesting Stefan's words to her. The man did not seem to have told her everything, there were some things that still did not feel clear to her, but he would not force the person before him to explain everything directly. The woman still needs time to get used to the new environment and information she faces now and later.
Stefan nodded. "I'll tell you right away, Chloe too."
The woman took a sip of the drink until it ran out after she finished eating the donuts. The atmosphere of the cafe that was originally quiet, the longer it began to be crowded with some visitors who came for their break time. Theo's words that boast some of the cafe's mainstay menu seems not wrong because there are already some people who order a combination of the recommendation menu.
"You want to order another drink or a cake? I saw you who didn't stop staring at the cake on the display."
Grace fell silent. "You want to buy it?"
"Of course." The man looked happy even though the look on his face looked ordinary, but the look on his eyes became like Lilian when he was excited. "I'll order it for you."
"Not for me, I want to buy it for some boy in my flock."
Stefan immediately understood who he meant. "No problem, I'll order them too. You want to too?"
"No, after this we have to shop, right? I'm still full, too."
"All right, wait here."
Grace notices Stefan walking towards the cashier and orders a few drinks and large cakes to be sent to her flock's house. The man looked friendly as he spoke to the cashier and wrote down a message that Allison and the others would receive.
Not long after, Stefan returned and finished his remaining coffee.
"They'll be dropping him off soon. Theo you told me, right?"
The woman nodded. Although the problems in their herd have been resolved, all members agreed to keep the area of the house the only refuge. So, Theo would wait elsewhere while receiving delivery messages from his favorite cafe.
"Come on."
They left their seats and walked to the shopping center to buy additional ingredients for the restaurant. She and Stefan used the reason for shopping to be able to talk this afternoon, so they had no choice but to do it anyway, even though Grace was already feeling lazy to just walk around the place.
Stefan seemed to realize what he was feeling. "You just wait in a cafe or outside a shopping mall. I can go in by myself."
"It's okay, you've bought food for our herd members, where maybe I'll also let you shop alone."
"Aren't you lazy?" Stefan replied by asking.
They are now already in front of the shopping mall, a few steps away from the high shelves that provide every person with their daily needs. The situation was not as crowded in the cafe as they left, but still Grace felt lazy by walking around to find the materials they needed. Given some of the main menus in the restaurant, it seemed like they would spend quite a bit of time.
"Yes, because that's quick."
"All right."
In contrast to the impression from the question, the man seemed pleased that Grace did not refuse to accompany him shopping. Only a few years after they knew each other as mate, the woman felt like she had known some side of Stefan that she had not shown to the herd members during her and Chloe's introductions.
Grace followed Stefan's lead this time. He still felt uncomfortable walking side by side with Stefan, or rather, he was uncomfortable, still unfamiliar with the connections between them that feel increasingly clear as they get closer to each other and spend time together. The woman did not know with the other couple, but she seemed exposed after some time just thinking about herself.
Stefan nodded. "For now, I will control myself as best I can so as not to make you feel uncomfortable."
They head to shelves featuring dry ingredients for desserts then some kitchen seasonings that have started to run out. Stefan chose the raw ingredients as long as Grace brought their grocery trolley. In just a few moments, the trolley he was carrying was already filled with more than half of it.
"Let me push, it must be heavy" Stefan said as he stretched out his hand to grab the trolley.
Grace brushed her hand. "Absolutely not heavy, just show us the way so we can go faster to the cashier and go home."
"okay."
Stefan followed her words and paid for their groceries that day. Grace did not take out her wallet or power at all when they finally returned to the restaurant. There, some visitors are already seen filling the available benches so they pass through the doors of special members of the herd.
Lilian was already waiting for their arrival.
"Where is your conversation going?" his tan looked sparkling as he looked at the two of them.
Grace looked back at Lilian in surprise, while Stefan dropped the groceries off the bike, clearly not wanting to interfere with his own sister's discussion. "Do you know?"
Lilian nodded. "My brother can't lie to me. So, hows? You guys talked about it well, right?"
"Here, he told me about the internal problems of your flock even though it was only partly to me."
"That's it?" Lilian looked disappointed at his words, as if she did not expect them to be the answer to her own question. "I'm more curious about your relationship, after my brother tried desperately to refrain from coming to you. You guys didn't fight because of that, did you?"
Grace snorted, if she really intended to fight, Stefan could not have returned to the herd in a state that was still intact. "He's holding himself back like that?"
Lilian nodded, looking not to lie with her words. "I sometimes see him confine himself in a room when it's the season when the mates gather and reveal themselves to each other."
"Please don't tell Grace that part, Lily...." Stefan just knew to show up and put their groceries near the entrance, the bike was still on. "I'm going back home, inside there's Sean to put his groceries in, right?"
"There, but he's busy cooking to serve the delivery order. Today he's the only one in charge of cooking in the kitchen, Grace, you're going."
Stefan sighed softly and pecked at the motor. He seemed to have no choice but to follow the will of his sister who would not take the groceries inside. "Swipe a little."
Lilian chuckled slightly away from the door, while Grace helped carry their groceries. Their restaurant is still crowded so they now use a fixed schedule for the division of tasks and working hours respectively. Their break is only valid when they are no longer serving customers, before opening and after closing the restaurant. Their work hours are more crowded than the day activities Grace and Chloe go through before moving into the herd.
Chloe was glaring when her eyes met Grace's. He was surprised because the woman was with the leader of the other herd with a fairly relaxed attitude. The woman formed a rhetorical question that made her shake her head. He's definitely not crazy.
They began to arrange their groceries into the material and refrigeration cabinets. Lilian had returned to work due to the presence of several other guests. Secretly, Grace and Stefan knew that they were both getting attention from members of the herd on duty for being quite familiar with each other.
Unknowingly Grace became nervous due to the pressure to be reasonable. "I'm ... going to work first."
"certain." Stefan looked relaxed and started to say goodbye to the other members. "Happy work all, I'll go first."
The man was just about to step out of the kitchen when Lilian came over while holding one of the pale-looking members. Zee. He served guests. The woman's face looked serious.
"Zee seems to be sick, he has to be replaced by someone, sister."
