Emily grimaced softly, her whole body crumbling, she could not even feel her broken leg. Vampires are right. His rapid healing was drastically reduced in this place, he had just realized that this place should indeed be shunned by his people.
The girl gave a warning snarl, she could feel the existence of the vampire chick that felt very faint nearby even though she could not see it directly. A bunch of white steam looms over the surroundings, adding to the horror of the jungle that feels docked to watch a very rare show.
He hates vampires with special abilities.
His breathing panted as he tried to lift his body up. He managed to get up in thirty seconds and then bared sideways without being prevented. His healing ability had completely disappeared now, perhaps he would eventually return to his human form without a fight.
Damnit.
Emily opened and closed her eyes for a while and was shocked to find that a man had suddenly stood behind her. A long sweater was thrown at him and immediately covered his body which turned out to be back to how it was, full of wounds and hairless.
"What are you doing, you idiot?" ask Emily slowly.
He could not feel anything anymore as the muscles in some parts of his body began to feel very stiff and could not be moved as usual.
The guy didn't answer the question. "Please put on that sweater."
"I can't move."
The guy's body suddenly stiffened. Somehow Emily felt that the man was most likely holding himself back from turning his head and feeling misbehaved towards her. So ridiculous.
But his guess was wrong. He tightened the sweater that the guy gave his body as much as possible and looked around, the existence of the vampire girl began to strengthen, the guy can feel it too. Faster than himself.
"You know the time?" ask Emily suddenly.
The man nodded slowly, for some reason he could tell the meaning of the wolf girl's words to him. "Nine minutes to go."
Emily thought quickly, her eyes swept over the white shadow again for a while and ended up staring at the alert-looking guy's back. If only he could move, maybe he had hugged Wayne as tightly as when they were kids, silly thoughts, again, he said, but he could not help himself as the figure he was looking for was so close and could be touched in the blink of an eye.
"Why do you keep looking at my back?" ask Wayne suddenly. "My feelings are bad."
Emily snorted softly, holding back the laughter of hearing honest remarks from a guy who didn't even have the ability to defend himself. "Sorry, how long do we have?"
"About seven minutes" he answered. "Do you have no plans to defend yourself? I mean, I'm just a normal human being here, if you suddenly forget it."
"Why do you want to help me?"
The guy fell silent with a long enough pause and shook his head. "I don't know why."
Can he remember what it was like even a little? The girl looked at Wayne again who was sweating.
Their time is clearly thinned with all the trivial questions and thoughts that have just found a solution after a long time. Maybe this can be done. "Come closer, Wayne. Hurry."
"What?"
"Don't ask, there's something I want to try with you" he said in a more urgent tone.
Wayne turned around and walked over hesitantly, his eyes focused only on the girl's face so as not to look at anything else that had been bothering him a little.
"Hold my hand."
The guy looked at her with wide eyes. Emily wondered what the mind-controlling vampire was up to so that a guy could look and behave so innocently like a baby in front of a girl who was barely naked before her eyes.
"Quick." Emily put pressure on that one word.
In a hurry the man grabbed his hand and grasped it slowly, pouring a subtle energy on his still limp body.
"What ... happened?" Wayne can definitely feel it too.
"You shared your power with me" said Emily slowly, still enjoying the flow of power that was creeping from her hands. "But this isn't enough to fight that chick, I need more."
A radiance of energy as he had expected. Emily allowed herself to dissolve in the kiss and gently clenched the lips one last time and withdrew, feeling all her energy gather and healing the wounds she had previously suffered.
"Thank you."
There's no answer.
Emily immediately turned around, swept her gaze around and saw a re-formed figure several meters in front of her, a paler face with entirely black-colored eyes, fully restrained and full-strength.
Mine. The vampire exclaimed in a voice more like a growl.
The girl growled back and turned herself back into a wolf. With his form like this he has the ability ten times more accurate than when he was in normal condition and smelled something wrong.
Wayne
The guy had already moved away from his side and was moving closer to the vampire who was more like a snow monster before his eyes. Emily couldn't believe it when the boy unhesitatingly welcomed the vampire monster's hand and entered into his arms.
The winter that suddenly formed around him immediately stopped, leaving behind beams of snow and silence between the three of them. Wayne faced her, his gaze blank, but the words coming out of his mouth made Emily feel something hit her chest.
"I don't belong to you anymore - we've exchanged blood. Now you can kiss her, right?" ask the guy rhetorically. "Once again I drink his blood, I will change and will never be able to come back to you again."
Emily was unable to say anything in response, her body too limp. He was in shock, but desperately maintained his eyesight at the figure of Wayne still staring at him blankly and meaninglessly in the arms of the monster vampire.
I can remember you now, Em.
Both of his eyes widened as the brief telepathy held weakly to his mind before disappearing. Along with the two other figures who were in front of him just a moment ago.
"Wayne...."
....
"Shut out and unseal that ends up being a double-edged sword. Well done, Em. Really," Amanda said sarcastically.
Emily gave no response, she just lay on her back and closed her eyes with one of her arms. Think, again.
The fact that the vampire controlled Wayne by exploiting his clan's tradition holds that the vampire is not an indiscriminate vampire, a very rare type of manipulation, he admits.
After all, a very intelligent vampire must have something that became his weak point. He must find it and destroy it immediately so that the vampire will clean up Wayne's brainwashing. But, what?
The girl raised her arm and found Amanda, who was still in her room and leaning against the wall, looking back at her. "You must know."
"What?"
"The vampire's weakness" said Emily slowly. "You must know."
"Just guess." Amanda said it by taking her eyes off. "But I told you I can't do it, right? even if I want to."
Emily raised her eyebrows in wonder, was she lying or was showing her sympathy for me?
Silence covered them for a few minutes.
"In the woods, I buried something under the only dead tree there" she said. "That's his weakness, but I hope, you're not using it to kill."
"Why?"
Amanda looked at him flatly, but there was sadness at his next remark. "Here we are a family, there is no social status even though there are several supervisory boards. Saying another vampire's weakness to a werewolf like you is clearly off-limits to us, you understand?"
"He's actually a good vampire, but when someone's already considered his, then it's his." She added before leaving Emily's room. "I hope you understand and don't do anything stupid."
