"Whitney, where are you going?" asked a boy who was walking after the girl in front of him. His face looked worried as the child walked deeper into the forest without hesitation. "Don't you remember your father's ban?"
The girl immediately turned around and placed her index finger in front of her lips, her eyes were rounded and her mouth let out a hissing sound at the boy, who frowned unacceptably. A signal to be quiet and listen.
"Don't be noisy, Will," said the girl. "I want to see something."
"Something what?"
The girl simply smiled meaningfully and showed her eyes that flashed a witty red. "Follow me if you want to know."
"But—"
Whitney hissed again telling him to be quiet and then continued his steps into the forest. Will, who was behind her, could only frown at her face while continuing to follow the girl, he had no choice because Whitney's father had already asked her to take good care of his daughter. He didn't want to risk leaving her alone unattended.
On the other hand, Whitney walked deeper and deeper into the forest, removing branches and twigs that protruded out to make it easier for her to pass by while following the faint smells printed on the trees she passed by. There are some short and shallow scratches that adorn the trees, too shallow and invisible if not very well observed.
The man really kept his promise.
The girl finally stopped her steps when the faint smell was stronger, the scratches on the tree standing next to him this time were even longer than before so he knew that this was the place of his agreement. His head immediately turned around to see if there were any adult vampires who might be in charge of overseeing the forbidden area. He doesn't want one of those annoying adult vampires to know who he's meeting now.
"Why you?" ask Will slowly. He still doesn't understand why Whitney entered the forbidden forest for vampire children like them, even though they were through that early age a few days ago.
Whitney shook her head in response. His eyes looked around again before speaking softly. "Thomas?"
They turned their heads quickly when a few seconds later another boy of their age emerged from behind the trees in front of them. He looked very messy with disheveled hair and a shirt full of scratches, his face smeared with dirt and his fingernails browned dirty.
Will stared at the boy very closely as the sickly smell was immediately inhaled by his nose, the smell of a wet dog that had not been bathed for a month. One of his eyes flashed yellow before he blinked, revealing the dark brown color of his pair of eyes.
"Hi, Whitney," the black-haired boy smiled and then nodded at him. "Hi too, Will."
Will felt his body freeze, shocked. He rolled his eyes at Whitney who still looked relaxed and instead gave his trademark smile to the boy. "Hi, Thomas."
"You guys...." Will forced himself to say a few words when he saw the two boys and girls still exchanging smiles. ".... Since when?"
"Two months ago," replied Whitney turning to Will with a bright smile on her face. "It turns out the werewolves aren't as bad as dad told me, Will."
"Vampires are also not as bad as the hereditary stories of our herd," the boy added with a faint smile, showing dimples on his left cheek.
Will could only be speechless at the response of his little friend, too shocked that he did not know what to say about this.
"You guys are crazy" Will said slowly. "Do you not know the risks?"
The boy grimaced. "I know the risks."
"I also know," replied Whitney indifferently. "Why should we care about that? I don't see enough reason to obey."
Will immediately turned his head to the boy. "You didn't tell him?"
"Tell me what?" whitney asked before the boy gave an answer.
"He's Thomas Graymark, son of the current John Graymark—alpha."
Whitney frowned. "Then? Is there a problem with that fact?" ask again.
Will shook his head in frustration, his eyes starting to flash red as he tried desperately to hold back the speech that was at the end of his tongue when he saw Whitney's gaze turning threatening. He was automatically made unable to do anything at that moment, his body unable to move.
Whitney immediately averted her gaze after that then blinked a few times before looking back at her again. Will who was already free heaved a sigh of relief.
".... It's okay."
Whitney took a breath. "Well .. I know exactly what you mean, Will. I know it's very dangerous" said Whitney, beginning to look calm. " We've also been talking about everything, discussing secretly for a few days now, but since we're still struggling, I brought you here as an additional opinion."
"What talk?" ask Will. "I don't understand what you mean."
"I want to put an end to all the hostility between vampires and werewolves, among all of us," replied Whitney turning to Thomas, giving a faint smile. "Thomas wants to do the same."
"How is it?" will's question sounded incredulous. "We have been hostile for a very long time, since the beginning we were made to be hostile to each other due to many things that are contrary to each other. You know that, right?"
"We know" said Whitney calmly. "Therefore we seek to unify all differences. Thomas and I will start talking about this with our friends until we finally get to our father."
Will shook his head in frustration, his head feeling dizzy after hearing Whitney's childish explanation and too impossible to do. There is no way that vampires and other werewolves can receive any encouragement to unite with children like them, even if they both have important positions
"Your thoughts are too shallow" Will said. "Don't you guys have any more convincing way?"
They're shaken. "We'll think of other ways for adult vampires and their respective fathers...."
".... So you have to help us, Will," Whitney added, smiling brightly.

Their discussion went well.
Whitney and Will are always looking for the right time and place to meet, as well as a good reason for their parents when they get back late. Thomas also began not to appear as suddenly as he did at first and was neater than ever.
They gather information about their people's possible references to each other, but there are no records they can reference so they take examples from human articles and apply them to their lives.
Will describes their lives as vampires, while Thomas describes the daily lives of werewolves. Whitney adds details to Will's explanation and sets the idea of every time he thinks of something. Several times they also chatted normally for refreshing, by chatting about their daily lives, so the longer the three of them got closer and closer.
Three months later Whitney and Thomas are caught by one of the adult vampires on patrol. At that time they were again discussing in the same place without Will, they were too serious to have a conversation so they did not realize the figure of a vampire standing behind them.
The two of them were immediately brought before Whitney's father in an attempt to escape. Whitney's father looked very angry when he saw his daughter standing side by side with the son of his enemy. With a gesture of hand he had his daughter taken by the servants into the room while Thomas was brought back to the border with 3 adult vampires.
Whitney was locked up for 1 month in her room, not allowed to go out unless she got permission from her father and was accompanied by a servant. Will, who has just returned and does not know what happened, must not visit his room at all.
Whitney's father soon made the decision to tighten territorial control, he also made a deal for the first time with Thomas' father to punish anyone who crossed the border mercilessly.
The deal went smoothly, they marked the border line where Whitney and Thomas met. The line was made of a mixture of wolfbane, silver and iron, extending from end to end and made by the help of human servants as well as female descendants of werewolves who could not change.
And suddenly a small fatal incident occurred after several years of agreement.
Thomas' brother Steven broke the deal because of his carelessness and Lawson, Steven's best friend who saw the incident, immediately ran away and reported to Thomas's father without informing him of the deal that had been broken first. Thomas' father soon darkens his eyes after hearing of the murder of his son by the vampire border guards.
As night fell, Whitney who heard the commotion from inside her room immediately went downstairs and saw her father and the male and female servants fighting with the many raging wolves. The girl was too shocked to do anything and stared, watching the slaughter of the servants and her overwhelmed father.
His heart seemed to be squeezed strongly when a moment later his eyes caught the prowess of the familiar looking wolf figure ambushing his father and immediately separated his father's head from his body. He saw clearly the figure turned into Thomas, the man poured holy water on his father's body which instantly blistered and then burned it with fire.
Whitney felt her body being pulled and was invited to run out across her backyard by Will. His feelings were empty as they stopped running and Will awakened himself by saying a series of soft and soothing words to himself.
But that meant nothing to the girl. He had already kept all those events in his heart that were slowly freezing.
No more unity, no more cheerfulness and no more peace for the werewolves. He has made a decision.
The wheel of revenge is spinning.
