"Huh..just kill me," said Emily suddenly smiling. "I'd rather die than lose Wayne in any way. But you know what the consequences are, right?"
Liene's face hardened at the wolf girl's words, realizing the gap she had accidentally left in her deal. "Pick between those two things or I kill Wayne now."
Emily's smile was flaring back. "Kill it, nothing is different, I'll die after."
A hard blow stuck to his head. Emily groaned as she felt a small crack forming on her neck bone, adding to the list of new pains she got today. Even so, he realized that Lien had half-heartedly beaten him, that if he was serious, his neck would have been broken.
"Take Wayne here, Alex."
"It's okay?" jordan asked after a long silence.
"It's okay."
"okay."
Quickly Alex, who was next to the vampire girl, immediately stepped towards the exit, Jordan tailed behind her. While Liene remained in front of him and looked at him sharply.
Emily closed her eyes trying to call out her ability to heal herself as before, no, reducing her headache alone would have helped–but, despite trying–her ability remained sealed within her, no, refusing to come out because of that damn plant.
He kept his position for a while, not ignoring Liene who still continues to look at him even though his gaze makes him a little creepy and feel strange himself and also had time to think if the vampire girl has a mental disorder that he does not know. Vampires have no soul.
"I thought a herd like you was extinct," said Liene flatly, breaking the silence and confusion inside her head.
Emily opened her eyes. "What do you mean?"
"I joined a vampire clan before, it's been a long time. I can only remember the name of the clan leader's daughter, Whithey, as well as a very vivid piece of memories when a pack of wolves destroyed half the clan. Tore up to another counterattack that made me decide to avoid a futile massacre, but here, I met your partner instead" he said. "How unlucky."
Emily stared at the vampire chick for a while, realizing an irony was forming before her before letting out the laughter she was holding back. For some reason, he felt that the thing that the vampire girl had just revealed sounded funny. "I'm sorry for you. If only you hadn't dodged it before, maybe you'd really be dead, because basically you're dead, please don't take it personally, and there's no need to deal with me."
"True, what a pity."
"You still want to kill me after this?"
"Of course."
The wolf girl sighed softly, knowing that maybe she had no chance of getting out of here. Wayne doesn't even recognize him anymore even though they're still connected, even if they're few and he hates the situation as much as he does the worst of his guesses that he doesn't want to think about.
Emily noticed the fire slowly entering her and let her mouth say a line of words. Another confusion due to his unbearable powerlessness.
"Poor Wayne, he must have received the same injury as me because of a vampire attack stricken with blind love" he said as an opening. "You want to cure him, don't you? I didn't know old vampires could fall in love with humans that deep."
The vampire girl grinned viciously at him, seemingly warning him, but did nothing else in return. "Shut up."
There's no reply.
"If I wasn't around, Wayne would be able to be with you."
Liene's face seemed to harden with anger, but not the slightest bit he punched the wolf girl's head like before or replied to her blatantly pumping the vampire girl. Not at all as he had expected. Maybe he really cares about Wayne so much he doesn't have to torture him.
"Sorry late" Alex smiled cheerfully.
Emily immediately set her eyes on the three figures walking through the door. Not three, but two. With her mouth tightly clenched in a frenzy, the girl noticed a figure that Jordan was carrying. The face of the person who was carried looked pale and moistened by sweat, Wayne, it turns out the impact of the blow looks worse on the man than Emily.
"Is he okay?" emily asked trying to move her body to get closer, but soon grimaced as she managed to slide her shoulder off the wall.
Of course no one answered the question. The three vampires were too busy taking care of Wayne who was slowly laid to the floor. Checking for a pulse, something sticky behind his head and his irregular breathing. Not with a bruise all over the body that is invisible and has a big impact on his ribs that is also still felt Emily.
From all that Emily knew that Wayne could not be cured quickly by standard tools.
Liene seemed to frown and whispered to Jordan who immediately went towards the exit. Alex was still beside him, watching the human boy while talking to Lien in a very small voice. Either talk about the treatment they should give Wayne or something else.
"I can cure him, you know that, right?" emily told the two vampires.
They didn't care about him as if he was just the wind then.
"Hey!"
Emily is restless in her place, the two vampires don't respond to her and she increasingly feels a desire to move from her place towards Wayne's place, seeing his condition closer and healing him even though he himself would become weaker.
If only he hadn't been hurt this badly he could have done whatever he wanted.
Emily swears quietly before the door is suddenly slammed open, showing Amanda with a thin mouth and a shotgun in one of her hands.
The vampire girl's eyes point at Emily within a second before switching and shooting her directly into Alex's head that didn't have time to dodge and Liene's legs, leaving her unsteady and unable to stand for a while.
Enough time for Amanda to get close to Emily and hand over Allison's bottle. The versatile wolfsbane antidote from Chloe.
Emily immediately drank it gratefully, feeling the liquid descend her throat and giving her a new strength that slowly healed her.
"I can only help you for a little while before she controls me" Amanda said. "Hurry and take Wayne out."
The werewolf nodded without asking before Amanda turned around and held back the wrathful-looking Liene's ambush, the vampire chick trying to avoid Lien's gaze as if it could gobble her up round. The real initial control source called Amanda to surrender and looked at the two blood-colored eyeballs.
Emily wakes up as quickly as possible– doesn't want to waste Amanda–'s sacrifice immediately cradling Wayne on her back and running out of there.
