Before entering the school building, Emily took as many breaths as she could without drawing attention. Mrs. Rowan and Amanda walked side by side in front of him without talking to each other, they just smiled and greeted the vampires and the little humans passing by in the schoolyard.
Withstands.
Emily tries to control her breath as she walks into the building, a distinctive fragrant smell immediately stings her nose, coupled with the AC blowing, the girl so unsure if she can pass through it all day, with a large group of vampires around him.
As he walked, he noticed the young vampires around him, looking almost normal, very similar to humans despite having the same pale impression and inhuman beauty. He had heard that vampires in this region had their own uniqueness, their children under the age of nineteen could live without the need to consume blood at all. Their sense of smell was also not so keen that no one would know his true identity.
"Emily, you brought your form, didn't you?" ask Mrs. Rowan cut off his reverie.
The girl nodded, she grabbed her bag and reached in there to grab a well knotted chocolate map and handed the form to Mrs. Rowans. Amanda turned from her mother's side to the waiting chair, which was across from the reception desk, face-to-face and staring at the flat screen.
The receptionist's guard finished his work pretty quickly, receiving the form Mrs was holding. Rowan and immediately read it, his forehead slightly wrinkled at the beginning, but his expression returned unreadable when finally thrusting another piece of paper at Mrs. Rowans.
"That's the lesson schedule," the receptionist said quietly. "If you have anything to change please check before further confirmation."
Mrs. Rowan read the schedule for a while before handing it over to Emily. "What do you think?"
"Nothing, I don't think there's anything to replace" Emily answered shrugging her shoulders and smiling.
"okay." Mrs. Rowan turned to the receptionist to thank her and walked up to Amanda who looked up.
"What?"
"Elmily's company to go around school, I'll pick you up after school. Okay?" Mrs. Rowan looked at her son's face alternating with Emily's, waiting for an answer.
"okay."
Mrs. Rowan smiled at the answers of the two of them then immediately moved from there in a hurry.
"Hey, you can go around the school by yourself, right?" amanda asked suddenly. "I have business."
"Yes." Yeah."
"okay." He smiled and then immediately went to the hallway of the classroom without looking back.
Emily sighed and stared at the schedule sheet that was in her hands. His first lesson will begin shortly. Mathematicians. Perfect. He sighed again and then got up from his seat to the classroom.
~°~
Smooth enough.
Those were two words that could almost deduce his activities during his time in the school that was filled with various half-mortal vampires residing around him. The lessons taught were not as difficult as Emily imagined, they used materials that were almost similar to her school, very normal.
The only strange thing was the realization that Emily was almost noticed by some of the teachers who taught there. Quite often the girl watched the teacher who taught and found a gaze decorated with twitching or unreadable highlight that seemed to investigate from all the teachers even though no one voiced the words of their minds.
Well ... it was a little unsettling for him, for some reason, somehow, he had expected a melee or words that frankly drove him from this place or a strange gaze that always accompanied his every step towards classes or anything that made him not feel welcome in this place because of his real identity—maybe he has started to go crazy for expecting all that.
"Emily," called someone while waving towards him. A girl with soft brown hair who was draped on her shoulders and wore a purple channel shirt.
"Hey, Lien."
Jacqueliene smiled, the girl is the first vampire that can be considered as a friend at this school. Sweet and friendly, the distinctive aroma of his body was not too disturbing Emily even though they were standing face to face.
"You want to go to the cafeteria with me now? I'm hungry," he asked.
"Byeah" replied Emily directly. "What's in there?"
"Hmm, what is it?" Liene muttered softly as she walked towards the cafeteria. "Maybe bolognes pasta, half-cooked steak and wine maybe? I'm not sure."
Emily nodded her head in understanding without saying anything more. Liene who was standing next to him still explained some of the rooms they passed before arriving at the cafeteria, watching the activities of the other students who were–-again– very normal than he expected, excitedly.
".... and now we have arrived at the cafeteria" said the friend in a carefree tone that could not be hidden. "Excuse me, excuse me...."
Emily smiled in response, the girl followed Lien who quickly slipped between the rows of the other students and took her food rations. When she was done, she handed one of the dishes she brought to Emily and pointed them at a long table that had been filled with several other children.
"Liene! Who is with you today?" ask a guy with a big smile and eyebrows playing on his forehead.
"Woah, tomboy girl?"
"Whispering."
Three guys and one girl were at the table, alternately speaking, and two of them looked at Emily curiously.
"Emily," said the girl briefly as she smiled towards them. "Greetings know ya."
"Woe.... Emily..'s a classic name, "the second guy comments with the same opening word. "Well, I'm Jordan, she's Alex, that mojok girl is Kat and that's next to Garry. Greetings to know too." He smiled broadly as a cover.
Alex punched the guy's shoulder. "Hey, I should have said that, Dan. You took my position as a welcome new member here."
Lien laughed and placed herself beside Alex, Emily followed him so they shifted to give her a place.
"New child or transfer?" garry asked, poking his head from behind Kat's arm.
"Movement."
"Hoh...."
"Kat, don't you want to say hello to the transfer boy?" jordan asked her to look at a girl who was still busy with the novel in her hand.
"No, I'm busy" the girl replied without taking her eyes off.
Garry poked the girl's chin which he immediately replied with a puffy delicacy from Kat's eyes.
"Sorry, Em. One of our friends is pms."
Emily smiles. "No problem."
Jordan shifts the topic by talking about the teachers who teach at their school accompanied by additional details from Alex. Garry was calmer with occasional short laughs in response to the two of them's somewhat silly remarks and leaned his shoulders against Kat.
"What classes have you had, Em?" ask Liene.
"Chemical."
"On your first day?"
"Woah, you're being unlucky then" Jordan continued Alex's remarks.
Emily could only smile while shrugging her shoulders hearing the response from them.
"That means you can be with Garry and Kat, they're also in that class."
Garry nodded his head. "Just go with us, Em."
"okay."
Liene got up from her seat and patted Emily's shoulder gently. "Then I go first, see you later, guys."
"See ya."
Kat closes her book and gets up with Garry. "Come, Em."
"Well, well, we're left behind, Dan"
"You, Lex."
"Curried."
Kat glared at Jordan and Alex. "Shut your mouths, you two, you noise."
Garry chuckles.
"They're twins?" emily asked watching Jordan and Alex who were now dragging while exchanging grunts, staring at Kat who was still glaring dislike.
"No, but their nature is identical, many have misunderstood you too" Garry replied.
The girl nodded her head in understanding until Kat stoppedi glared and walked with Garry to Chemistry class.
