A Werewolf Girl's
2.9

"You're really gonna move out of here, Wayne?

A girl with a hazy face asked one boy who looked like him. The girl's voice sounded sad and disappointed at the same time when asking about it.

The boy nodded, looking wrong with his right hand that switched to scratching the nape. "My father found a cheaper rental house than here, his workplace is also very close."

The girl's head immediately bowed without saying anything. The boy in front of him felt guilty and scratched his nape even harder. "Em .. don't be sad, I promise to visit you again if I can, right?"

The person asked did not give a direct response. He swept his hands across his face first then looked up while slightly sobbing. "Promise?"

The little figure nodded confidently. "Yes, I promise" he answered. "We'll definitely meet again, Emily."

Wayne woke up with a very loud groan from his mouth, his head felt pierced by thousands of needles at once. The dream quickly blurred, refusing to be remembered and stored in his memory.

One of his hands gripped his head tightly, feeling like he wanted to throw it against the wall to remove any puncture that was starting to become unbearable again. He had to go to the woman to stop her. Again.

God fucking.

God fucking.

God fucking.

The man groaned again and forced himself to wake up. Walk through the door to another room at the end of the hallway.

The intensity of his stab grew louder, making him hold the ring and stop his steps that were already at the door. He opened the door without knocking. A woman who had been lying under the covers got up and was by her side in an instant.

"Wayne .. Does your head hurt again?"

The man snorted softly, he could not help himself, his eyes refusing to look at the woman who might have smiled sadly full of pretense. He refused to answer but still could not resist the fist of the woman on his face.

"You know you can't escape, right?" asked the woman again, sounding a speck of sympathy that he rarely did. He clearly knew that this guy's attitude would always be the same every flash of the dream back. "He'll keep you by his side."

Wayne didn't say anything. Something throbbed in his chest as the woman tiptoed to kiss his forehead, long ago, easing all the punches at once obliterating the dream marks from his head. His body immediately felt weak which was easily supported by the woman.

"Rest, Wayne."

He laid the man on his bed, staring at the guy's eyes that were stubbornly still open. Does he have to hit her?

"name ... Emily, right?" ask the guy, ask for the first time. "That person ... the student .. new?"

The woman did not react, still staring at the man who was beginning to lose consciousness. Soon the guy will eventually forget it all again and he will hear his chatter until he completely faints, for politeness, nothing more

"I...." Wayne was trying to say something again. His eyes began to close without any burden, only a single word could finally come out of his mouth. ".... fuck."

The woman was silent for a while. Thinking of nothing until one of his hands was raised to wipe the sweat off the guy's forehead. Rub it as slowly and as quietly as possible.

A few moments later, he put his hand away and left his room without saying anything.

Wayne has long been unable to remember his past. How can he live in a pack of vampires and be adopted by one of the vampire families without knowing what he went through when he was a child. Friends and especially their parents.

providing for his needs without even talking and spending trivial time such as watching the ball, news or eating together (for the latter he can finally be understood due to his family status.)

Lauren never talked about it either. The woman will always divert the conversation by occasionally touching her forehead and rubbing it slowly. It made him feel like an idiot.

"Wake up, Wayne." A sweet sounding voice sounded in his ears.

He opened his eyes lazily and glanced at the empty surrounding of his class, only two other children were sitting and one of the children was leaning on the teacher's desk and playing his cell phone.

"You slept all day" said the voice again. "Are you so tired?"

Wayne looked at the woman's face and immediately got up from his chair without saying a word. Grab his backpack before stepping out of class and walking decisively toward the outside of school.

"Wayne!" The voice called him back.

He ignored it and kept walking. In a few moments, the woman will definitely carry him as usual again without feeling disturbed, very different from him.

The sky looks darker than it was a few days ago. Wayne stopped walking. His eyes suddenly glued to the cluster of clouds that swarm there, watching the clouds slowly march and expand their dark colored parts.

An arm was back in his hand. "I got you."

Wayne did not listen, his attention was too focused on the sky above him and something that was looking at him from afar. His hair bristled, his eyes slowly turning to the furry figure with four legs two meters in front of him, looking growling and threatening with protruding canines.

"Wayne...."

The sight of the wolf's eyes suddenly led to him. Wayne could only be transfixed as the furry figure walked towards him, looking calmer but still menacing, and within a second disappeared from before him.

The grip on his arm also seemed to disappear.

Wayne looked up again and found two quick flashes that collided with each other. Screams filled the field, the vampire children who had previously chatted and joked ria immediately ran away from the scene.

The two figures still looked balanced as the two returned to the ground. Wayne could only see the black fur from the wolf, Lauren's movement was too fast to see well. He never knew what the two men had done.

The longer the battle lane they shifted towards the forest. Wayne stepped three meters behind them, keeping a safe distance, the two figures began to slow his movements. But the pressure of the punches and turns of each of the figures seemed to strengthen.

Wayne clenched his mouth as tightly as possible. Feeling agitated as the sight of her eyes caught Lauren's movements that quickly held the wolf in a twine of her body, throwing the figure down into a large tree.

The body of the hairy figure looked limp as it finally slumped with an unnatural position on the tree. His left leg was located in the opposite direction and his feathers looked matted, his lower abdominal side giving off a thick red liquid which was by far the most severe wound he could see.

"Your healing system is slowing down, a shape-shifter?" laura asked calmly.

Wayne watched as the wolf's eyes stared at the empty spot in front of him. Trying to growl commemorating with his breath that could be said to be stingy.

The guy's eyes circled quickly, trying to find Lauren who suddenly disappeared back. He recalled that his foster brother was one of the vampires who had special talents that were useful for a time like this.

He clenched one of his hands tightly, worried with the sound of his heart telling him to help the wolf. The man did not understand the reason why he had to help the wolf that had suddenly appeared just like that.

Your healing system is slowing down, a shape-shifter? Wayne was reminded of the rhetorical question posed by his adoptive brother. Shapeshifter ..human to animal.

He looked back at the wolf and quickly ran towards it.
