"Is he going to die?" ask someone who sounds worried near him.

Sebuah suara mengaduh terdengar menyusul dari sumber yang sama. "Jangan berbicara sembarangan, Jordan." Itu suara Kat.

"But he looks so quiet, you see for yourself, don't you?" ask the guy again - which is then followed by a complaining voice.

Emily felt something pretty cold clinging to her forehead. "The temperature of his body is also very high."

Garry's? back to guess. What the hell's going on?

Emily desperately wanted to open her eyes and see the circumstances surrounding her, but both eyes felt heavy. In his heart he sighed in frustration, curious and uncomfortable with his helpless condition among the three vampires who were anointing him out of nowhere.

"Get out of all of you," said someone in an ogah-ogahan tone. "If you keep huddling here, how can he be healthy again?"

Amanda's voice definitely indicates Emily's whereabouts right now, in her room, maybe.

"We're just worried about the situation" said someone calmly. Lien may. "You know for yourself, didn't you know that two hours ago he passed out in the middle of the street?"

The voices of the two boys agreed.

"He's going to be fine" Amanda rejected their reasoning. "You'd better go home. You already know the medicinal properties I gave him earlier, right?"

"But...."

"Go home." Amanda's voice ended the conversation.

Within a few short minutes and without any extra resistance, Emily could hear the vampires bursting and leaving her room with the door open. He felt relieved, even though his body still felt heavy, at least he again felt free for a moment.

The girl sighed and then tried to move the part of her body that still felt stiff - her hands were drooping beside her body, fingers on her feet, and legs, his eyes that could only open half and his mouth that refused to open.

"I know you can hear me clearly" said someone suddenly. "You can hear that conversation too, right?"

Emily could only be silent, unable to show any meaningful movement.

Amanda, the girl who asked that, didn't say anything else. Emily could hear the sound of the door closing and the movement of a shifted chair approaching her bed instead. Maybe, the girl was thinking about something important so that she could be silent like never before.

Her body stiffened as Amanda pressed her finger against the side of her neck. "It turns out that the effect of the drug is slow for your people" the girl murmured. "Is it because it's because of your bond with that guy?"

There's no answer. Amanda looked at Emily who still looked tense and very stiff.

"Ah," he said as if only woken up. "Did I forget to tell you that one-tenth of the population here knows your true purpose?"

The girl's body was still showing the same reaction, her breathing stuck to her choked throat. Emily knew that she shouldn't be surprised. Mike, the middle-aged vampire who first met him, already knew his identity with his words that seemed calm.

Knowing the purpose of the young werewolf who desperately lives with the vampires alone? of course, such a thing is very easy to guess.

"Breathe, plumes of feathers. You could die."

Can he throw something on that girl's flat face now?

"You're not a vampire who can't breathe forever" he said. "And don't be surprised that your purpose in coming here is well known, your body odor has been described quite clearly and Wayne is the only human being who lives here. There was no other human being besides him and all this time we also wondered about his existence who remained settled despite knowing our identity.

"But eventually all of this was solved once you came, we finally figured out another reason for human existence here, why it could happen."

Emily was silent, listening and thinking many things at once in her head. His mouth tried to open to ask, but no sensible word formed on his tongue, in vain.

"Sleep, I'll tell you the information you really want to know later." Amanda said softly enough for the first time. "I'll be back in an hour."

Amanda immediately left him alone in his room.

He got up from the bed and checked the situation behind the tightly closed curtains. The sun was already out of sight, he could only see the darkening sky and was filled with cloudy clouds, if he opened the window, the wind might blow him hard. There's gonna be a storm.

The light that suddenly lit up immediately distracted him and made him frown at the glare.

"Sorry surprised. I thought you were still sleeping."

Emily shook her head without saying anything. He watched the female vampire walk up to him and thrust out a glass of warm milk. "spent."

"Thank's."

Amanda raised an eyebrow, looking confused. "For what?"

"This milk and because it healed me with a drug-whatever-that-his-name." The girl seemed to be holding back her facial expression when she said that.

He still raised his eyebrows not understanding, but in the end he shrugged his shoulders and went to remove the sheets from his bed. Quickly enough he folded the sheets into two pieces and placed them on the floor of the room.

"Sit down."

"What"

The girl cut the question. "My bed is already so stinky, I don't want to make it worse."

Emily shrugged her shoulders indifferently, ignoring the deliberate or unintentional innuendo of the vampire chick and focused herself on thinking about what she wanted to ask. Connecting events from Chloe's attitude that looks riled up to her who can faint so suddenly in the middle of the road. She put the milk glass on the table.

"So, what's really going on?" ask in the end. The standard question, he knew it, but only that question could most likely summarize the answer he wanted.

"Your body is affected by the condition your mate is currently experiencing, the effects of brainwashing, most likely," Amanda explained without further ado. "Since you are interconnected and it is likely that you also chose it, then the effect you experience simultaneously happens when you meet in person."

He opened his eyes. "You ... how?" emily asked in surprise, suddenly speechless for a moment. "I've never said anything about it before."

"So you've guessed what happened to you?" she asked back, raising her eyebrows, ignoring Emily's question.

The girl nodded. "Just guessing, but I didn't think it was true" he said. "Why did that vampire brainwash Wayne?"

"He did it for himself."

Emily scrunched her eyebrows, digested Amanda's short speech and within minutes came an understanding that came to her mind. "He likes my mate?"

"Not that bad." Amanda shook her head. "The problem is even more serious. Awake, Em."

"I'm very conscious." Emily smiled half-heartedly. "So, my opponent is a possessive vampire?"

Amanda is back. "Possessive vampire girls and an impressionable group of young vampires. You're in trouble."

Emily nodded her head. "Yes .. Are you one of them?"

"Maybe," the vampire girl replied without hesitation. "He is very talented in mind control."

"Even if he thinks I'm his friend?"

"Yes." Yeah."

"Without doubt?"

Amanda nodded her head.

"Ah." The girl covered her face with her hands. "Why should mind control vampires?"
