On Sunday night, Dimas and Alila enjoy the night together again. Nothing special, because all this time they have often spent time together. What is special is only their relationship that is now closer and no longer just friends.
Dimas is still driving his car through the crowded highway crowds on the weekend as it is today.
"Dim.."
"Yes, Al?"
"How are we going to tell the others?"
"Say what?" Dimas glanced at Alila and refocused on the street before him.
"About us."
"Why should we say it?"
"Do you want us to hide it?"
"Not really."
Alila sighed to throw away her emotions that often appeared when talking to that overly indifferent Dimas.
He was already used to Dimas' cold attitude. He just needs to be patient and stay calm to deal with it.
(I've been trained for four years to deal with your attitude like this, Dim.)
Dimas stopped his car because of the red light. He turned his eyes to Alila. She immediately grabbed Alila's hand and held it warmly.
"Leave it like this, Al. Later they will also find out by themselves."
"I'm afraid they'll misunderstand, Dim."
Those gentle eye rays looked at him with a look of worry.
(Why are your beautiful eyes always making me want to linger staring at her, Al.)
The light has turned green. Dimas returned to drive his car at moderate speed. Sometimes he turned towards Alila who was still silent earlier.
"They won't misunderstand, Al. Our relationship is not a mistake either."
"But in the past, Sandy and Nayla immediately told us all about their relationship. Even Nayla used to confide in me about her feelings for Sandy when they were just starting to like each other.."
"Don't equate ourselves with others, Al."
"But our situation is the same as theirs, Dim."
"We're not them, Al. This relationship belongs to us, you and me. Dimas and Alila, not Sandy and Nayla."
"I just don't want them to be angry because they think we're ignoring them. As if we wanted to hide it from them."
"Al, is this because of Tama?"
Dimas asked with intonation and a calm demeanor. Instantly Alila widened her eyes and looked at Dimas sharply.
"Huh? A tama? What's wrong with Tama?"
Alila is confused as to why Dimas thinks of Tama.
Dimas was silent and did not answer. He kept his car quiet.
"Dim, are you still jealous of Tama?"
"Tama or anyone else, I'd still be jealous if they liked you, Al."
Instead of being angry, Alila smiled happily at Dimas's answer. She felt that Dimas really loved her because he could have a sense of jealousy towards other men who were close to her or wanted to get close to her.
"I'm glad you're jealous, Dim."
"I'm jealous because I don't want to lose you, Al."
"I know, Dim."
Dimas stopped his car in front of a five-foot meatball stall that had been their subscription since the beginning of college first. Before they went down, Dimas grabbed Alila's hand and fused it with his two hands.
"I want you to stay with me, Al. Like all this time, for now, and until later. Never be away from me."
"I want the same thing from you, Dim."
The two of them stared at each other in silence. Soon Dimas took Alila out of the car and walked to one of the empty mats on the outside of the shop.
"Night of the week alone. Which three more, boss?"
Kang Budi directly came out from inside the stall and greeted them. They were old customers so Kang Budi was already familiar and not hesitant anymore.
"Yes, Kang. Others may walk alone as well." Alila replied kindly and full of smiles. Dimas who sat beside her only replied with his usual thin smile.
"Okay, hold on a second. I prepared a special meatball and a warm lemon tea."
The night breeze began to sweep over their bodies causing a chill on the surface of the skin of the hands and face. Alila rubbed her palms repeatedly and then placed them on her cheeks.
Dimas leaned his body against the wall behind him. Her hand clasped Alila's arm tightly to close her body with Alila's.
"It's still cold, Al?"
"Slightly, Dim. The night wind is like this, right?" Alila spread her gaze towards the crowded streets by the passing vehicles.
Dimas endlessly continued to stare at Alila's reddened face and covered both of her hands.
(It feels like I want to hug your whole body tightly Al, so that you don't feel cold anymore.)
Their orders are already laid out on the mat.
Alila sipped her drink several times to warm her body from the inside. Looking at him, Dimas immediately grabbed Alila's hand holding the glass, then pointed it to his own mouth and drank it.
Alila who was shocked just kept staring at Dimas' face. He continued to stare at her until Dimas led their hands down and placed the glass he was holding.
The glass had slipped out of Alila's hand, changed with a warm grasp of Dimas's hand which again brought their hand before the man's face. With his eyes closed Dimas kissed the back of Alila's hand gently and long.
Alila held her breath watching Dimas' extremely tender and loving treatment of her. Dimas still continued to hold his lips on the back of Alila's hand, making Alila moved and popping a clear crystal in the corner of her eye.
(Why has your attitude become this sweet, Dim.)
Dimas began to open his eyes, as if realizing Alila's eyes were on him. He returned Alila's gaze with a smile that he had rarely seen.
Looking at the circles floating in the corner of Alila's eyes, Dimas' right hand that had been silent began to lift into Alila's face and wipe away the nearly dripping tears.
"Let's eat first, Al. Or do I want a bribe?"
Alila returned Dimas' smile while shaking her head.
"We ate together, Dim."
He took a bowl of meatballs and handed them to Dimas. Then he took another bowl for himself. They enjoy it along with a view that can not be separated from each other.
They've finished dinner. Dimas stood before paying into the stall of Kang Budi. Dimas had already returned and extended his hand to help Alila stand up. After saying goodbye to Kang Budi, they got into the car and left.
"God, get a blanket in the back seat."
Alila turned around and took the blanket.
"Wear it so you don't get cold. I've set the car AC at a minimum."
Alila took off the blanket and covered her whole body to feel warmer. She recalled, every time she woke up from her sleep in Dimas' car, the blanket was always wrapped around her body. It must have been Dimas who had covered her, as usual.
"Thank you Dim, every time I fall asleep in this car, you're always covering me up and securing my sleeping position."
Dimas smiled and momentarily looked towards Alila who had enveloped her body.
"Sleep when you're sleepy, Al."
"No. Tonight I don't want to be like usual. I want to accompany you."
"You wanna accompany me?"
"Yes." Yeah."
"Where is it?"
"Originally with you, Dim."
"I don't want to go anywhere."
"I'll stay with you."
Alila didn't notice, not knowing when Dimas stopped the car. Suddenly Dimas' left hand was already on his waist. His blanket had escaped down to his lap.
"Dim..."
