Five men of great stature approached Kenan, two of them holding Kenan's hand. Three others beat Kenan to death. They slapped his punches into Kenan's face, stomach and chest. The dark gray-eyed bead stared intently at Ivy who was standing in the corner of the room. As if asking for an explanation from the woman.
"Stop! Don't hit me again!" Ivy shouted at those people. Those green eye beads melted looking at the bruises on Kenan's face.
"Enough!" victor exclaimed as he raised one of his hands up.The housekeeper immediately stopped his activities according to Victor's orders.
"Put the man into the barn!" chanted Victor who stood his back to Kenan. He did not want to see the young man who had ruined his daughter's future.
Kenan's breath gasped for air after he fell to the floor. The two men pulled on Kenan's body, for the man to stand up. They flank Kenan's arm and took him to the back shed.
Kenan still continued to stare intently at the owner of the green-eyed bead as he flashed before him. While Ivy was only able to stare at Kenan's back, until the man disappeared from his sight.
"Who is that man?" sophia asked who suddenly appeared in the living room. The red-haired woman stared at Ivy and Victor's faces in turn. But the father and son were silent.
"Ah yes... I understand, surely that man is your lover, Ivy?" Sophia put both her hands into the folds of her elbow.
Ivy just fell silent and lowered her head.
"What job? If the man is as good as Ferrite, maybe he can help our problems, Victor," said Sophia who gave a little sweet smile to her husband and stepson.
Ivy soaked her lower lip, the green-eyed bead moving towards Sophia and Victor alternately. "He was just a ship mechanic."
"What?" Sophia and Victor were shocked to hear Ivy's words. But what struck Victor the most, how could his daughter give up her honor to a ship mechanic.
"You turned down Ferrite just for the sake of a ship mechanic who can't give you a future?" yelled Sophia who rubbed her forehead. He did not understand Ivy's way of thinking.
"At least he's better than Ferrite," replied Ivy of origin. He also did not know who Kenan was.
Victor grinned at Ivy's words. "Better you say! If he's a good man, he won't take your honor!"
Sophia was surprised to hear her husband's words, she pulled up and held onto both of Ivy's arms. "What did your father say, huh?"
Ivy just nodded her head slowly. Sophia's hand almost floated into Ivy's face, if Victor hadn't prevented it.
"Never beat my daughter!" screeched Victor who threw away his wife's arm.
"Why are you defending him? Your daughter has tarnished the good name of our family! Ferrite would definitely not be willing to accept this!" sophia shouted out loudly. The woman grew bolder, after seeing her husband's finances slumped.
"Ferrite has canceled everything. There was no marriage and no help from her" Victor said.
"That means...." Sophia could not continue her words, she was sitting limp on the sofa while holding her forehead which still looked tight.
Ivy was shocked to hear his father's words. Had her father told her earlier, that her marriage had been annulled. It is not necessary to slander Kenan.
"You don't interfere with Ivy and the young man! I'll take care of all this!" threaten Victor to his wife who is still sitting on the couch. The middle-aged man immediately walked into his study.
Ivy leaves Sophia alone in the living room. The young woman entered her room upstairs.
He laid his body on his pink bed. His hearing only heard the sound of clockwork seconds that continued to spin non-stop. Her green eyes stared at the white ceiling of her room. Thinking about what he just did to Kenan.
A knock on the door sounded from outside, Ivy immediately got up and walked towards the door.
"Cansu," Ivy greeted with a smile.
"It's true you're back." The two bloodless brothers hugged each other.
"I heard your voice" said Cansu.
Ivy invites Cansu to go inside her room and sit on a long wooden chair in the corner of Ivy's room. They sat side by side and held small pillows.
"I don't want to marry Ferrite, Cansu." Ivy leaned next to her head against the wall. Not for the first time he said that he did not want to marry Ferit. But no one understands him.
"Why did you refuse him?" asked Cansu as she lifted both her legs and raised them on the chair.
"I don't love him. I don't want to get married this fast anyway." Ivy put both her legs on the chair.
"I heard from Nur that you were taken home by a man. Is she your lover?" Cansu smiled seductively at Ivy. Her eyes swirled looking at Ivy's wide-open mouth.
"No. She's not my lover. I don't actually know him. When I ran yesterday, I almost hit the car. I immediately asked him to take me away," Ivy explained.
"So, there's nothing between you and that guy?" asked Cansu who tapped her two fingers on the small pillow she was holding.
"Nothing happened between us" Ivy replied softly. "My marriage to Ferrite is also void."
Cansu simply nodded his head and smiled faintly. "Actually dear too, if you reject Ferrite. He's a handsome, rich man."
"If you want, you'll marry him. I don't like him. Even though I've only met him twice, it's like he wants to eat me alive" said Ivy, who was met with cheerful laughter from the two beautiful women.
"I'm glad you're back, Ivy. Take a shower and rest" said Cansu who immediately stood up and stepped away from Ivy's room.
After the departure of Cansu, Victor's daughter was reminded of Kenan's fate in the warehouse. He immediately took out his medicine box and immediately rushed downstairs.
His hands were busy looking for a warehouse key that usually hung with the other key.
"Where's the key to the warehouse?" muttered Ivy while flipping through some of the keys hanging on the kitchen wall.
"What are you looking for, Ivy?" Nur approached her master's daughter.
"Where are the lock on the back shed?" Ivy asked in a panic. Nur immediately took some keys from Ivy's hand and gave one long-shaped key in gold.
Those green-eyed beads seemed to shine as soon as they saw the key. "Nur, do you have any food?"
"Ehem... What was that for that man?" guess Nur while opening the food storage cabinet.
Ivy placed her index finger in front of her lips, for Nur to lower her voice.
"Okay. okay, I get it." Nur started to lower his voice. He gave a plate of food complete with his side dish to Ivy and gave the woman a bottle of drink.
"Go, I'll be on my guard here" whispered Nur.
Ivy put all those things on a tray and took them to the warehouse behind her house. It was getting dark when Ivy stopped in front of a wooden door that was almost rotten.
He placed his tray near his feet and began to unlock the warehouse. Within seconds, the wooden door opened. Ivy took her tray and stepped inside.
Moist aroma and mildew welcome the arrival of Ivy. The room contained only one cell made of rusty iron, all this time he did not know what the cell was for. There's no stuff in there. With the help of a white chandelier, he saw Kenan sitting on a cement floor. The man buried his face on his knees.
Is he asleep?
Ivy opened the iron cell without a sound, he dared himself to go inside. The longer the steps get closer to where Kenan is.
Suddenly the dark gray eye bead lifted up and shone a sharp glare towards him. The eyes are like the eyes of a wolf surrounding its prey.
