Kenan's footsteps stopped in front of Doctor Husein's room door. The man seemed hesitant as he stretched out his hand to open the handle of the door. He just put his hand in front of the door, until a few minutes later he dared himself to go inside.
"Doctor Husein," said Kenan after he went inside. The middle-aged doctor raised his face
up and smiled knots at him.
"Sit down." Doctor Husein pointed his hand towards the wooden chair that was in front of him. "Where's Ivy?"
"Ivy... He was going out of town to look for his mother's brother" replied Kenan who was trying to find an excuse.
With a serious and tense face, Kenan tried to sit quietly to listen to the senior doctor's explanation.
Doctor Husein took one of the files in the pile to the left of his hand. He gave the file to Kenan so that the man could read it. "You can pass this on to Ivy. Two days ago, I got information from the Istanbul Child Cancer Foundation. There's someone who wants to donate his spinal cord to Deniz. The person had already undergone various medical examinations, and their match was close to 50 percent."
Kenan's eyes glowed after he heard the doctor's words. "That means Deniz can be cured, Doctor?"
"Ninety percent yes, but...." The glasses doctor did not continue his words.
"But what?" Kenan could not wait to hear the next word. He began to agree with Ivy, that the words of the doctor sitting in front of him were half good and the other half evil that would strangle your neck until you could not breathe.
"The donor lives in Texas, United States. He didn't fully volunteer to give her spinal cord. After he learned that the level of his match with Deniz was very large, the donor intended to sell the sum-sum behind him" explained Dr. Husein.
The son of Aaron turned his head to the white light that was hanging, he rubbed his face and all his hair to the back of his neck. His breath sounded heavy at this moment then he turned his face towards the window beside him. The stretch of sky in front of him looked increasingly dark and thick, lightning bolts striking each other.
His mind is thrown into the past when he and Ivy make a promise to each other in the Sultanahmet park, all for Deniz, a boy who looks like him. All his effort and all the help he gave Ivy was for the boy. If she is not there, Ivy will definitely find a way to heal her sister.
"How much does he want?" asked Kenan looking at the doctor's face.
"USD 100,000" replied Doctor Husein.
"You want to blackmail me!" yelled Kenan who instantly pulled the white coat collar.
Kenan's face had already started to turn red holding back his anger. If it wasn't for the man in front of him this was the doctor who dealt with Deniz's health, he would have beaten Doctor Husein and thrown him out the window.
The wrinkled hand seemed to tremble holding Kenan's hand. Her lips began to open slightly. "You can read the e-mail he sent to this hospital."
Kenan removed his hand from the collar of the white coat. He returned to his seat, but his sharp bead still watched the middle-aged doctor's movements. Opening the file in front of him, he began to read every attachment of paper that was there.
Within a few seconds, Kenan had finished reading the contents of the file and then thrown the file in front of Doctor Husein. "I'll agree to all the terms! I'll pay after he's done donating his spinal cord to Deniz!"
After saying that, Kenan slammed the door of the room hard. Right now he is thinking about how to get that kind of money. Ivy has not been found to date. He was not sure if the police could help him find the woman.
Kenan swung his steps towards Deniz's room. Nur was already waiting for him in front of the room, the woman's face looked anxious as she watched Aaron's son walk helplessly.
"What did the doctor say?" nur asked who stopped Kenan's steps before the man reached the front of the room.
Kenan closed his eyelids and exhaled deeply in front of the caretaker Ivy then he told her what Dr. Husein had told him.
"Oh. How should we?" Nur covered his nose and scrunched his forehead.
"I've agreed to the terms. I'm going to work on the money, however Deniz must be operated on immediately" replied Kenan. In his heart he also did not know where he got that much money from.
"But...." Kenan's bead eyes looked teary at Nur's sacrifice. The woman who was not Eleanor's family, the woman who was only a servant in the family was willing to sacrifice her precious possession just for her bankrupt stepson.
"All right, I accept. Please take care of Deniz, I will go out" said Kenan who was answered with a nod of the head by Nur.
The fan of the SUV car was still moving to the right and left to brush off any rain that blocked Kenan's view. The four-wheeled vehicle drove to Cafe Istanbul. It was late in the afternoon when his car stopped right in front of the cafe. The atmosphere still looked lonely, from the outside he saw Mehmet talking to someone. Amidst the raindrops, the man ran small to reach the entrance of the cafe. Seeing his friend coming, Mehmet gestured to Kenan to wait for him. A few minutes later, Mehmet's conversation with his guest was over. The dark-skinned bald man came over to Kenan's desk near the big piano.
"You want to play the piano?" asked Mehmet with a little candlestick. Kenan only looked at him with his face bent.
"Aren't you like this, I want to play that instrument?" Kenan aimed his cynical gaze at Mehmet, who,
"Casual, mate. I'm just kidding, you know I'm not a serious person." Mehmet sat himself beside Kenan.
"And you know, I'm not the one who jokes! Deniz's got a bone marrow donor." Kenan's eye bead leads to where the piano stands.
"That's great news!" muhmet exclaimed with his laughter revealing a row of white teeth. "Who is that kind person?"
Kenan snorted annoyedly at the words of his friend. "Don't call him a good man! He didn't donate his spinal cord willingly, but he sold it. I don't know, he lives in Texas" explained Kenan, sipping a Turkish coffee from Mehmet.
"What?" Mehmet rubbed his face then he patted Kenan on the shoulder. "How much does he want?"
Kenan brushed off Mehmet's hand on his right shoulder. "I'm not here to borrow your money or beg you!"
Mehmet gasped at Kenan's words and shook his head. "OKAY. Whatdoyouwant?"
"I want to fight again. I need 100,000 to 200,000 USD right now!" exclaims Kenan who made Mehmet's eyes wide.
"You can't finish it with one game!" whispered Mehmet while leaning his body in front of Kenan.
"You can raise the price of my bet!" whispered Kenan then he got up to his feet leaving Mehmet.
The bald man could only wipe his plontos head. It is not easy to increase the number of bets, especially Kenan is still relatively new. His friend had just won a few matches, his prestige was still lacking. "Why does he like to hang his fate on the boxing ring? What if he doesn't win and dies there instead?" Mehmet Gumam.
Two days later, Deniz's condition declined. The boy kept asking for the whereabouts of Ivy who did not see the trunk of his nose. Kenan and Nur tried various ways to persuade the boy to touch his food, but he did not want to eat before he met his brother. Doctor Husein tells Kenan that today Deniz's donor will be flying from Texas to Istanbul. If Deniz's condition improves, it is likely that a spinal cord transplant surgery will be performed soon.
Hasan hurriedly entered the tall pyramid-shaped building. The elevator door opened on the fifth floor. He slowly knocked on the wooden door in front of him.
"Lake in!" ferrite shouted behind the screen of his laptop.
"Sir, there is good news that I brought from the hospital" said Hasan who made Ferrit raise his face and raise one of his eyebrows towards Hasan. "Deniz Eleanor has a donor."
"Oh yeah?" Ferrite smirked after hearing the news delivered by Hasan. "Then?"
"I heard that the donor did not give his sum willingly. He sold. The mechanic is currently looking for money to pay the donor" Hasan explained.
Ferrite laughed out loud at Hasan's explanation. "The poor mechanic wants to pretend to be a hero! Ivy's gonna see who's gonna help his sister!"
