Give Me Your Hand's
DL and GMYH Reunions - Heart Treatises

“Yang Mulia. Hope all attendees get up!” shouted one of the protocol officers who welcomed the Judge's arrival, causing the horror in Hazal's heart to suddenly disappear. He slowly stood up along with everyone who was there.

The long-robed man swung his steps then climbed one by one the steps of his throne. The large high table that made everyone clench their jaws, as soon as they saw the sturdy object made of wood as if they wanted to eat them. With his raucous voice, the man reopened the course of the trial.

Several officers who had been guarding Kenan and Mehmet immediately opened the guardrail that surrounded the sickle seat. In the presence of his handcuffed arms in front, the two defendants came out of their seats and sat beside Hazal.

The decision of the court is in the hands of the judge. Now is the time for this trial to end with tears of sorrow or tears of joy. All eyes stared at the face of the arbiter of justice without blinking.  Seconds by seconds increasingly make their chest feel tight, as if the oxygen in this room is getting thinner and thinner.

The middle-aged man sitting on his throne got up, grabbed his microphone. Every now and then the old eye looked at Kenan and Mehmet's face then turned to his sheet of paper and began to convey his decision.

“After hearing the opinions of all parties, study the evidence at hand and consider the reasons for the accused. So the Istanbul City District Court hearing today ruled that defendant Kenan Fallay and defendant Mehmet Dundar were sentenced to one year in prison! Cut off with the time of the prisoner

they've been this long!”

Both Kenan's knees immediately limp upon hearing the judge's decision. The muscular body suddenly slumped down with both hands cuffed holding the edge of the table in front of him. Both of his legs felt unable to support his weight.

“Date!” Hazal was surprised to see Aaron's son almost fall beside him coupled with a rowdy sound coming from the wooden chair that hit the wall behind him.

In the back seat, Ivy also shouted calling her husband's name, the pregnant woman immediately got up to see what was happening, but all she saw were two people who were both squatting under the table.

“You okay?” Hazal tries to help Kenan get up by holding the two muscular arms and grabbing them.

“I... is fine,” replied Kenan while showing his handcuffed hands to Hazal. A clear liquid flowed out from the corner of his eye.

While on the other side, Mehmet sat in his chair with both palms covering his round face. Like Kenan, the dark-skinned man cried as much as he could with his two trembling shoulders.

“What about the Defenders? Is there anything you want to say?” asked the Judge who directed his gaze towards the Lawyer the woman who was twisting all her hair behind it.

“I represent both of my clients, expressing objection to the result of this verdict, Your Majesty!” ahazal said that he thought Kenan had fallen because the man still had his sentence.

“I apply for tire..”.

Suddenly, Kenan's handcuffed hands clasped one of Hazal's palms under the table, causing Hazal to stop his words. Make everyone in the room wonder in their hearts, what happened.

The two human children stared at each other at the link of their hands for several seconds. Only Mehmet was the one who witnessed the scene, the bald man chose to shut up and turn his face forward. As if he had never seen anything at this moment.

“Hazal Kenan whispered with his head. A red color is still clearly visible from the bead of his eyes.

“But, Kenan…. Don't you want to be free? I will fight for your freedom,” whispered Hazal with a frown on her forehead. Unbeknownst to him, the two palms still continued to hold tightly, as if Kenan was not only pleading with words but also with his feelings. None of them wanted to let go of his hand first.

“One year is enough for me.” Kenan closed both eyelids that still look wet, “not necessarily also, the appeal can make me free. No guarantee for it’kan?

Those red lips trembled withstanding the rumbling in his heart. In his heart, the desire to fight was still there. For him this is far from fair. However, what would be said if the man he defended did not want to continue the trial. A nod of the head with a sense of compulsion in response to Kenan's words.

“I also agree with Kenan's opinion,” Mehnet chirps standing behind Hazal. “Let go from the gallows and ten years imprisonment, already makes me grateful.”

Hazal could only sigh deeply while lowering her head, “Alright, I.

The two hand links finally came off as Hazal reached for one of her hands before the Judge. All pairs of eyes watched and waited for what words the beautiful lawyer would say.

“I'm a lawyer—Hazal Aksal represents my two kilns, will not appeal, Your Honor. Both of my clients received the court decision today.”

In the back seat, Ivy and Cansu unceasingly wiped away their tears and hugged each other. Japheth's reaction was to fold his hands together in front of his chest while revealing his faint smile.

An agreement also came out of the mouth of Prosecutor Onur. The face's sharpness still remained the same— expressionless, even though his demands were not met by the Judge. Even if the judge granted his claim, the middle-aged prosecutor would also remain flat.

“Hazal....,” call Kenan when he sees his ex-wife is about to step out from behind the table.

“Ya.” The woman's lawyer turned her back to see how close the man was to her, perhaps only as long as an adult's one-handed stretch.

“Did you help me just to pay our past debts?” Kenan's question made Hazal turn her face away. The woman saw the people around her looking at her.

Kenan... What answer do you really want? You shouldn't have asked like that….

Aaron's son narrowed the distance between himself and Hazal. He also asked the officer for a little more time to listen to his ex-wife's answer.

However, another palm clasped Hazal's hand before the woman gave her answer. Kenan immediately retreated his steps when he saw that Japheth was standing beside Hazal.

They saw their hands clinging to each other.

“I have no answer to your question..” The puddle of water had peeked out from behind Hazal's eyelids.

“I congratulate you and Mehmet,” said Hazal in a soft voice, “thank you Ivy, because you told me about Kenan. I go first.”

The dark gray beads continued to stare at Hazal and Japheth who had walked away from him until the two slowly disappeared from his sight.

Hazal, why do you always give me answers like that? Two years have passed, but your answer has always remained the same. I know there is an answer in your heart.

The touch of Ivy's hand broke the chaos in Kenan's heart. The man directed his gaze to look at the oval face that had been beside him. The green-eyed bead looked at him with gentleness, it should be right now that he was thanking the woman.

“I'm sorry, for blaming you back then,” Kenan said.

It was not a word that came out of Ivy's mouth to reply to Kenan's words, but a hug that she gave to her husband. Although during the trial he was able to see how Kenan's eyes looked at Hazal deeply, it was as if something had not been resolved all along.

“I know…. I'll wait for you to come home. Just one year’kan? It wasn't long...” A circle of clear crystals also fell soaking Ivy's face, “I will always visit you.”

“Patience and don't worry anymore, it's not good for our child. Do not be too hard with your work and take care of your health,” Kenan reply behind Ivy's back. A kiss landed on Ivy's forehead and the woman's stomach. The father-to-be told his future son to take care of his mother, as long as he was not there.

The hand link came off, as police officers took Kenan and Mehmet out of the room. The two women tried to chase after them until the prisoner's car actually made them separate.

All the struggles of the two women have ended, now they just wait for the freedom of their husbands. The two stepped out of the Courthouse courtyard to intercept a taxi. From across the street, it appeared that someone was observing them. The figure waved his hand at them, but the two women were unaware of his presence.

“Ivy...”.

“Cansu..”.

The call made the two daughters of Eleanor set their eyes across the street. They saw a young man with his misty hairdo and his formal blue clothes approaching them.

“What are you guys doing here? How are you guys doing?” the man asked as he looked at Ivy and Cansu who had just walked out of the Courthouse courtyard.

“What are you doing in court? Are you guys having any problems?” The man kept asking.

“No. Wait-wait.., it looks like your face is not foreign.” Ivy observed a clean white face without a single thin strand of fur growing there. Her nose and thin lips are like those of a woman. Her black hair is jet and her model's sideways are pulled back typical of the seventies.

“It looks like I've also seen it in our old house. Who are you?” ask Cansu.
