The sounds of life in Balat district began to sound. The smell of bacon flowed from one window to the other. The typical cry of mothers and young children made him wake up early. He was yawning and flexing his body with pleasure when the sound of knocking on the door rang for the umpteenth time.
"I know you're inside."
A familiar voice in his ears, made him forced to stand up with half his consciousness and approach the wooden door that was in front. The golden-coloured door handle went down. He only yawned when the pair of black-eyed beads were staring at him.
"You look fucked today. Since last night I've been calling you. Ivy said, you're back home."
The dark-skinned man barged in without excuse and dropped himself on the soft sofa despite looking a little worn out. He stretched his hands to the side and placed them behind his bald head.
"What are you doing here so early?" Kenan glanced at his guest who was wandering.
"Just visit you, I happen to run in the morning here" replied Mehmet, shaking off his white shirt wet with his sweat.
Kenan entered the room he called the kitchen. Not like a kitchen, because it is only a long table attached to the front wall of his room. He put coffee grounds and sugar into a Turkish pot, brewing it with hot water until it reached half the pot. His hands were busy stirring and pouring back the hot water until it reached the lip of the pot. Put it in a Turkish pot made of pottery on an electric stove, not boiling enough to make it slightly foamy.
The smell of the warm drink really seduces his sense of smell. Kenan poured the pot of Turkish coffee into two cups he had prepared and gave it to Mehmet.
"Since when have you been good at making Turkish coffee?" tanya Mehmet after sipping coffee made by Kenan. No less compared to the bartender in the cafe.
Kenan looked at his coffee then gulped it down bit by bit. "Since I've been a lonely man."
Mehmet's distinctive laughter filled the room. His black eye bead was rounded and his eyebrows slightly raised upwards. "Seriously?"
Kenan just cleared his throat while continuing to enjoy his coffee this morning. "After I realized no woman was making coffee for me."
Kenan's words again made Mehmet laugh out loud and pat himself on the knee. Maybe her best friend has started to open up.
"Because you're here, schedule my match again" Kenan said after he placed his coffee mug on the table. He rested himself on the back of the sofa beside Mehmet.
"Are you sure you want to fight again?" mehmet asked by leaning forward and tilting his head to face Kenan.
Last week Kenan survived, because his opponent was a little kind to him. Otherwise, perhaps the man would have experienced death a second time.
"I'm sure!" exclaims Kenan while staring at the cup of his drink that has been filled with coffee foam.
Mehmet patted his best friend's shoulder, "OK, if that's what you want. This week there's a new player, you can play against him."
There is no point in resisting the wishes of a man who has already made his resolve. Mehmet had only been able to help the man as he wished, but he never managed to change Kenan's stance. Not himself or anyone else.
"Next night come to the training ground, I'll send a trainer for you" Mehmet said after he finished contacting someone on his phone.
After finishing the bath, Kenan took his razor and cleaned his mustache and beard that began to thicken. Not really clean. It leaves only thin feathers that are short and black in color.
From the reflection of the mirror in his room, Kenan touched the corner of his eye. There was a scar on Ivy's finger that had treated his bruise. The purplish-red hue had already started to fade, but the woman's touch and smile still lingered on Kenan's face. The man smiled remembering the incident on the night when he finished the match.
How are Ivy and Deniz?
"You still here?" kennan asked after he came out of his room. He saw Mehmet still sitting on his front room couch.
Mehmet just cleared his throat while fiddling with his phone screen. Then he lifted his head and looked at Kenan from the tip of his hair to the brown leather shoes that the man was wearing.
"It's still morning. The cafe is not open yet. You have an appointment with someone?"
Kenan simply shrugged his shoulders and lowered both corners of his lips in response to Mehmet's words.

The two men were in the lobby of a food company. Mehmet always ordered groceries for his cafe in the company.
"Sorry, you've been waiting a long time. From today onwards, I will replace my resigned friend" said a long-haired woman standing in front of Mehmet and Kenan. The two men raised their faces to see who the soft-spoken woman was.
"You? Ivy's half-brother, right?" asked Kenan who immediately stood up from his seat and was followed by Mehmet.
Cansu nodded her head, not expecting to meet Kenan at work. With a short-sleeved shirt made of jeans wrapped the curves of his arm muscles and his denim pants attached to his waist and thighs. The mustache that adorns his lips is brown and his thin sideburns are shaved short. Handsome and attractive, two words that Cansu gave to Kenan.
Sophia's daughter recalled her jokes with Ivy when they were teenagers. The two girls peeked out from behind the window of her room only to see their neighbor, a college student.
"Cansu, look."
"That's a man wearing a checkered shirt. He's very handsome, isn't he?"
"Do you like a man with a mustache?"
"Not really. But I want to know what it's like to be kissed by a moustached man."
Cansu immediately returned to smiling and chuckling in light of Ivy's chatter at that time. "Did he kiss Ivy?" that silly question popped into Cansu's mind.
The black-haired woman looked into the dark gray eyes that seemed mysterious then said, "We haven't had time to get acquainted, when you came to the house looking for Ivy. My name is Cansu."
"Mehmet Gunez" said the man with the head of the plontos, extending his hand towards Cansu. His black eye bead was unceasingly staring at the blue eye bead that was in front of him. The color of the clothes worn is also very suitable with the color of the skin.
Cansu immediately returned Mehmet's introduction and smiled at the man. His eyes turned to Kenan. The son of Aaron did not extend his hand, not even a smile.
"I think you already know my name. I'm just here to accompany my friend, he'll deal with you" Kenan said, shaking his right hand at Mehmet. The man immediately walked away from the two of them and chose to sit in the other chair.
Cansu simply stared silently at the sturdy back that had moved away from him.
"Miss Cansu." Mehmet's voice made him come back to his senses, that he had to go back to work.
"Call me Cansu. It's nice to meet you. Oh yeah, what if we were talking about work in my room."
"By pleasure." Cansu invites Mehmet to go up to the third floor leaving Kenan still waiting in the lobby.
The two different types of people stepped into a large room filled with bulkheads as high as an adult's chest. Cansu opened the door of another room containing only a long table and several chairs.
"This is my list of cafe orders" Mehmet said after he pulled one of the black chairs over and sat on it.
Cansu took out a paper containing Mehmet's writing and sat down in front of the man. "Why don't you contact the company as you normally would?"
"I happen to have time this morning, all I want to visit you" said Mehmet, who stared at Cansu's short skirt, which was slightly raised to the top, revealing some of her smooth thigh and knee skin.
"Oh sorry.I mean I want to visit this company." Mehmet immediately corrected his words when he saw the shocked face of Cansu.
"Alright, I'll give this to the production department soon. You want to bring your own order?"
"If you don't mind setting it up now" Mehmet replied with a smile. He saw the woman standing up and immediately left.
Mehmet got up to his feet and walked towards the large window that was covered by a curtain that rolled up. He opened one side of the curtain and looked down, a view of downtown Istanbul.
"Mehmet."
Cansu's voice made her turn her body. He saw that Ivy's half-brother was carrying a small cardboard box and behind him two men entered with two large cardboard boxes.
"Let's check his stuff. Is it appropriate?" Cansu provides Mehmet order paper and printed order sheet.
Cansu put food ingredients on the table according to Mehmet's words. After everything was complete, Mehmet immediately put it back in the cardboard.
"Thank you for your help, Cansu," Mehmet said, extending his hand. Both hands touch each other. The man could feel Cansu's soft hand skin, as soft as his voice.
"Next time you'll call me if you want to order something." Cansu gave his card to Mehmet.
Kenan's friend read a row of numbers printed on the business card in his hand. "Does this number also receive private messages?"
"Yes. But I won't get back to him right away if I'm at work."
"I understand. You can stop by my cafe."
Mehmet immediately left Cansu and brought the three boxes alone. He smiled all the way to the lobby.
"Why don't you say that Ivy has a beautiful brother like her?" mehmet asked after he placed the three boxes at Kenan's feet.
"You didn't ask me." Kenan immediately helped lift one of the large cardboard boxes towards the car. Mehmet immediately followed Kenan's steps while snorting in annoyance.
