Give Me Your Hand's
DL and GMYH Reunions - First Session (Part 1)

The trial schedule has been set. Today Kenan and Mehmet's first trial will take place. The time showed at 10:00 am, the yellowish light illuminated every corner of the District Court Building located in the city center. No journalists and visitors crowded the building, even seemed quiet as if there was no activity in it.

Ever since Hazal became their lawyer, she had silenced all the mouths of the media crews from writing or airing news of the murder. If the news were to be published, the journalists would only write the initials of the suspect without any photographs. The woman's lawyer also requested that the trial be conducted behind closed doors. All this he did to keep the good names of Kenan and Mehmet.

A police detention car stopped in front of the government building. The army's green-colored car door opened on one side. Four long-running police officers were seen taking down two male prisoners with their hands cuffed in front. Four other officers escort Kenan and Mehmet behind. Wearing orange prisoner uniforms, the two patients walked up the steps of the Court Building.

Meanwhile inside the corridor of the building, Hazal walked towards the courtroom wearing her long robe. On the opposite side, the beautiful lawyer saw a familiar figure to him standing looking at him. The figure was also wearing a long robe but with a different color symbol. The figure of the man grew clearer as their steps drew closer.

“Action Head Onur...” Hazal's mouth was wide open, knowing that his opponent was his former superior whom he respected a lot.

“Why did you take this case?” hazal asked after the two of them were in front of the courtroom door.

“Who knows your strengths and weaknesses better than your own mentor, Lawyer Hazal? I'm no longer your boss, now we're opponents. So don't hesitate to face me,” said Prosecutor Onur while raising the file he clamped between his body and arm, then he chose to walk first into the courtroom.

Hazal's heart stopped a split second after hearing Prosecutor Onur's words. His confidence was slightly eroded when his former boss walked past him and now their eyes met again at their respective tables. Yeah, they're facing each other.

“Judge Assembly enters the courtroom, attendees are requested to rise to their feet.” The voice of a protocol official echoed in the courtroom.

There were only three visitors who filled the seats in the room, they were Ivy, Cansu, and Japheth. The three got up to their feet as the court official walked into the room. Hazal sees Japheth sitting in a different row with Cansu and Ivy. The Emir's son also wants to see the course of the trial, perhaps he also wants to see the fate of his former rival.

“Istanbul City District Court, which is examining criminal case number 567890 on behalf of Kenan Fallay and Mehmet Dundar, was declared open and closed to the public." There was the voice of the Judge who opened the trial and then knocked his hammer three times.

“Defendant Kenan Fallay and defendant Mehmet Dundar are welcome in!” a protocol officer.

Two police officers flank Kenan's arms and two other officers flank Mehmet's arms. Upon entering the room, Ivy greeted Kenan with a sweet smile. Her stomach was rubbed more and more visible as her husband returned his smile. For nearly two months, her husband spent in prison until the trial began.

Likewise with Cansu who gave support to her husband, she hoped that this trial would only take place once, and her husband was declared free. But the smiles of the two men instantly faded, as soon as their gaze met the gaze of the Judge's eyes.

The officers put the two men into two adjoining sickle chairs. The sickle seat was more like a wooden cage with a fence as high as an adult waist. With all four feet fifty centimeters high from the floor, it was almost like a stilt house. Police officers locked the wooden cage from the outside. The two defendants looked towering amongst everyone present.

From his seat, Hazal looked at Kenan standing in front of him. The gaze of the eyes retorted, a faint smile carved from the lips of the two. Without beautiful words, the two provide each other with support through their body language. Hazal propped up her chin while continuing to look at Kenan.

Two years ago, in this place I sent his father to the gallows and in the same place, I had to fight to help his son avoid this death sentence. I'll fight for your freedom, Kenan.

Without them noticing, Ivy and Japheth could only watch the incident in silence and endure each other's rumbling.

“Defend Kenan Fallay and Mehmet Dundar, are the defendants currently in good health and ready for trial?” ask the judge in front of his microphone.

“Yes I'm ready, Your Majesty,” replied Kenan and Mehmet simultaneously.

“Please the Prosecutor bring his charges,” said the Judge who set his sights on Prosecutor Onur.

The swift footsteps of the prosecutor made everyone in the courtroom hold their breath for a few seconds. They all plugged their ears to listen to what attack the middle-aged man was about to launch.

After giving his thanks to the Judge, Prosecutor Onur now began to search Kenan and Mehmet with various questions about the murder incident in the old warehouse and the raid of Ferit's house.

Prosecutor Onur brought in his witnesses, Ferit's neighbor, who witnessed Kenan and Mehmet's attack on the house. At present Hazal only observes and hears accusations for the sake of accusations leveled by his opponents.

“We did not contact the police because the authorities definitely could not catch the criminal! If the victim is arrested, the victim will definitely use his power and wealth to escape from the law!” exclaimed Kenan with a cold gaze staring at the Prosecutor.

Prosecutor Onur walked in front of the Judge's desk and stood in front of Kenan. “Oh, so defendant Kenan Fallay doubts the legal integrity of our country that can be purchased, Your Highness!”

“Doubt, Your Majesty!” hazal shouted, raising one of his hands to cut off the Prosecutor's words.

“Defense accepted.” The judge gave Hazal a chance to speak.

Hazal got up from his seat and said, “First I want to correct the statement of the Prosecutor

The prosecution said that the defendant thought that the victim was a criminal. Here it seems as if the defendant is just guessing that the victim is a bad person, but the truth is that while the victim is still alive he has committed many crimes!”

“Secondly, I represent the defendants guaranteeing that they do not intend to doubt the legal integrity of our country. Before the murder occurred, the two defendants had reported the drowning case committed by the victim to Mr. Kenan in the waters of the Bosphorus Strait to the police. However, police did not respond to their reports due to a lack of evidence and eyewitnesses. This is proof of their report, Your Honor.” Hazal gave a copy of the report to the Judge.

“So, this is not purely the fault of the accused who did not report the crime to the police,” continued Hazal who walked back to his desk.

“Doubt, Your Majesty!” exclaimed Prosecutor Onur who was still standing when Hazal explained his opinion.

“Designation accepted,” replies to the Judge while reading the report given by Hazal.

This time Prosecutor Onur walked over to Mehmet. “Defenders said that the police did not respond to their reports due to the absence of witnesses and evidence that saw the incident. If I were to become the Police Captain, of course I would not respond to people's reports carelessly."

Prosecutor Onur's words infuriate Kenan and Mehmet, but Hazal asks them to calm down.

“If there is no evidence and eyewitnesses, then these defendants have slandered and defamed the victims! Though the real criminals are the two of them!” prosecutor Onur screeched while pointing his finger at Kenan's face.

“That's not true, Prosecutor! Ferrit Kozan is a fucking human!” yelled Kenan who was immediately greeted by a hammer reprimand from the Judge. Mehmet snorted angrily at the words of Prosecutor Onur who cornered him and Kenan.

“Kenan, please calm down or the judge will take you out of the courtroom,” whispered Hazal who stood in front of Kenan's sickly seat.

The woman's lawyer clasped the back of Kenan's hand holding the wooden fence separating her and the man. The touch made Aaron's son sigh slightly, but his heart still did not accept the words of the Prosecutor.

"Doubt, Your Majesty!” hazal exclaimed as he slowly removed his hand from Kenan's hand.

“If the Defender has witnesses and evidence that could show the crime of Ferit Kozan, then your objection will be accepted!” the judge leaned his body against Hazal.

Everyone was waiting for Hazal's words, including Prosecutor Onur who was staring at him expressionlessly. Kenan and Mehmet just lowered their heads. However, the two heads were raised upwards when they heard Hazal's voice calling out someone's name.

Their eyes were on a man in a hat who had just walked into the courtroom. The man lowered his head as he walked over to the chair that had been provided, making his face immersed in a red head covering.

“Who is he?” ask Mehmet to Kenan.

“I also don't know.”
