Give Me Your Hand's
Insurance Letter

Since the departure of the people who were about to take over the house of the Eleanor family, the inhabitants of the house were unable to eat and sleep in peace. Especially Ivy, who had locked himself in his room this morning.

"Ivy, can I come in?" asked Cansu who knocked on her room door.

"Come in" Ivy answered from the inside. Cansu slowly opened the door of the white-colored room. His eyes bead saw his half-brother sitting on his bed in the dim light of the lamp.

"You haven't slept?" Cansu approached Ivy and sat down in front of the woman.

"I can't sleep, Cansu. Every time I close my eyes, I see my father." Ivy cried while hugging her photo album.

Cansu hugged Ivy tightly. He also experienced this when his biological father died twelve years ago. She was still a little girl at the time.

Sophia's daughter wiped the tears that soaked Ivy's cheeks. "Although I haven't known your father for long. But I know, Victor is a great father."

"Your father would be sad to see you like this. Go sleep. You need rest" said Cansu, rubbing Ivy's back.

Ivy looked at the face of Cansu who was about to leave from before him. Slowly his half-brother came out leaving him alone in the room.

As the night wore on, Ivy pulled up her blanket and tried to close her eyes. That long night is only in fairy tales. The day is so fast passing, when every human being restarts their activities.

The sound of the house bell rang, as Sophia was stuffing her things into a large cardboard box. Five large boxes filled the living room. In two days they have to leave this house.

The hostess immediately walked towards the door of the house. He saw from behind the mosquito net, who did his guests come. A man in his work clothes was green, the man pressed the bell button again.

"Good morning Mrs Eleanor" said a man as she saw Sophia standing in front of her. The young man was about thirty-five years old, with the black-colored misty hair model smiling at the woman.

"Yes. Good morning," replied Sophia. One of his hands was still holding on to the door.

"I am deeply saddened by the passing of Mr. Eleanor" said the man. "May I discuss something with you, Madam?"

"Please come in." Sophia immediately opened the door of her house wider and brought the man to sit in the living room.

The two people sat on one long, cream-colored sofa. Sophia tilted her body to make it easier to talk to her guests. The man pulled out a file from his black briefcase. Makes Sophia's mind wonder about the file that was inside the man's grasp.

"Sorry, my house is in a mess" Sophia said flatly.

"You and your family are moving?" The man propped his hands up on the file he was carrying.

"Yes. This house reminds us of the deceased. We will start our lives in a new place" replied Sophia who did not tell her the real reason. "What do you want to talk about?"

"Mrs Eleanor, I'm Murat from the insurance company. During his life the late Mr. Victor insured himself and his company. Does the Madam know this?" Murat gave the file to Sophia.

"I don't know it." Sophia received the insurance file and read it. His eyes stared at the number of insurance money on the paper.

"Mr Victor appointed Miss Ivy Eleanor as his insurance recipient. Can I meet Miss Ivy?" Sophia turned her back, she saw neither Ivy nor anyone else there.

"Ehm... Ivy is calming herself down at the moment. It's likely that he won't be able to take care of this. His father's sudden death took him by storm." Sophia's face turned sad.

Murat simply nodded his head as if he understood what had happened within this family.

"What if I represent Ivy to take care of his father's insurance?" sophia whispered with a smile to Murat.

"It could be, madam. But there must be an agreement and a signature from Miss Ivy" replied Murat, who issued another file. He gave the power of attorney to Sophia and showed me which part Ivy should sign.

"Alright, tomorrow you can take this file."

Murat stood up and said goodbye to Sophia. A smile broadened from Sophia's red lips as the insurance officer had left her home. This time he had to figure out how to get Ivy's signature.

Victor's insurance money could get me out of this.

Sophia peeked out from behind Ivy's room door. He saw his stepson standing facing the window against his back. He immediately went down the stairs and went to the dining room.

The plates on the Ivy table are still there. Then he hasn't had breakfast this morning.

"Mrs hasn't had breakfast?" nur's voice surprised Sophia who was carrying her tramp.

"This is for Ivy. I saw that the plate was still on the table, he must not have had breakfast" replied Sophia who immediately left Nur.

The waiter seemed to wonder in his heart.

It's not usual for that woman to bring breakfast to Ivy.

"Ivy," called Sophia softly as she had already entered her stepson's room.

"Yes." Yeah." Ivy turned her body around. He scrunched his forehead when he saw his stepmother enter while carrying food.

Sophia put her tray on the nightstand, then she invited Ivy to sit on the bed. The mother and stepson sat facing each other.

"I admit lately our relationship is not good because your father and I are thinking about our family's financial problems" Sophia said, holding Ivy's palm.

"Cansu told me that nothing happened between you and your boyfriend. Well, to be honest, I'm really happy and I'm sorry I scolded you that time." Sophia continued her words. His face turned a little begging.

"That's it. You don't have to apologize. I lied at the time." Ivy replied to her stepmother with a smile.

Sophia took the plate containing the baklava and gave it to Ivy. "Eat this. You haven't had breakfast, at least you need energy for today."

Ivy took the plate from Sophia's hand. He looked at his stepmother with a smile.

This woman has not paid attention to me for a long time.

Half a piece of baklava had already entered Ivy's mouth. He enjoyed the pastry bread made by Nur.

"Ivy, the guy who yesterday took our stuff asked for our signature for a receipt. I've given you my signature, it's just you and Cansu. While Deniz is a minor, you can represent him" said Sophia who gave the insurance file and a pen to Ivy

Ivy put her plate back on the bed and held her pillow. He put his signature on the file and handed it to Sophia.

"All right, sweetheart. Spend your breakfast" said Sophia who came straight out of Ivy's room. The beautiful woman cheered with excitement in her heart, so easily she tricked her stepdaughter.

You're too nice and naive, my dear Ivy.

When Nur saw that his late master's wife had come down from Ivy's room, he immediately went into his master's child's room.

"What did that woman do?" nur asked as Ivy had inserted the last piece of her baklava.

"He gave me this and asked for my autograph" Ivy replied as she lifted her empty plate and walked up to the nightstand and drank her milk.

"Did you read the letter you signed?" nur asked while frowning his forehead.

"No. He said the letter was just a receipt from the people who transported our goods yesterday." Ivy finished her milk again.

Nur looked at Ivy's face expressionlessly, he just sighed deeply. "May it be true what that woman said."

"You know, Nur. For the first time Sophia apologized to me" Ivy told me with a smile.

Nur was stunned to hear Ivy's story. The woman patted him on the forehead so that he would wake up from his dream. "Woman apologized to you?"

Ivy just cleared her throat and nodded her head.
