"I Rey Chandra Adiputra, take you Alesandra Jessica Iriawan, to be my wedded wife. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness." said Rey steadily, while looking at the beautiful face of Jessica who was next to her.
Jessica could not help but cry happy to hear the wedding vows uttered by Rey, then it was her turn to say the wedding vows in front of the pastor by being witnessed by her closest family and friends.
"I Alesandra Jessica Iriawan take you Rey Chandra Adiputra to be my wedded husband. To have and to hold, from this day forward, for better, for worse, for richer, for poorer, in sickness or in health, to love and to cherish 'till death do us part. And hereto I pledge you my faithfulness," said Jessica, holding back her sobs.
After the two make a wedding promise, Rey pinned a diamond ring on Jessica's ring finger, as well as Jessica, she pinned the wedding ring on Rey's ring finger which has now officially become her husband.
Then, Rey lands her sweet kiss on Jessica's lips. Jessica is still hardly expected if now she has officially married Rey, her first love.
The event was held on the island of the Gods of Bali, and took place behind closed doors, only attended by the Rey and Jessica families. However, of course Jessica did not forget the Daniel family who so provide support to her, all of them were present except Daniel. Jessica understood this, she did not force Daniel to attend her wedding, and even Jessica did not expect a word from him. With Daniel willing to be invited to work together for his daughter, Jessica was very grateful.
Last week before flying to Bali, Daniel met Rey when they picked Estelle up at Claire's residence. There was no greeting, but at least there was no commotion, Jessica had asked permission to shift the day of Daniel's meeting with Estelle this week because they were still in Bali. There was no response from Daniel but Daniel seemed to understand and allow it.
Rey and Jessica received a lot of congratulations, both from their families and Daniel's family. Harry hugged Rey. "Jessica means a lot to my wife, so yeah. Thank you for making her happy. He deserved it," then Harry turned to Jessica alternating with Claire. Not to forget Grace and her husband also congratulated, they were happy because Jessica could finally be happy, even if not with Daniel.
At the event, Jenny meets Jordy for the first time. "What's it like to have two nieces?" he sees Jordy looking busy playing with Estelle while playing with her son.
Jordy looked up at Jenny. "It's nice, as long as these two boys don't ask for a snack with me because Rey didn't give me any money, even when I was helping out at her restaurant."
Jenny chuckles. "He didn't give you money, but he met all your needs, so you don't need money."
Jenny laughs more and more, Jordy turns out to be very pleasant, Rey has made a lot of change, so Jenny considers Jordy to visit her residence, slowly Jenny began to realize no matter how Jordy remains her brother.
...-FINISHED-...
Hi Readers
Thank you for reading through to the end, CHAPTER 53. Most of us who are not in a toxic relationship assume that people who are in the DPRT and do not want to let go of their partners are stupid and weak. Though the judgment should be shown to the perpetrator not the victim.
For many of the underlying reasons they chose to survive, based on the research of Alice Yuen Loke, Mei Lan Emma Wan, and Mark Hayter (2012) in the journal titled "The Lived Experience of Women Victims of Intimate partner Violence" showed that respondents survived because they felt helpless. Lack of support and financial stability, and want to provide a complete family is the main factor.
In my writing this time, not only discussing the difficulty of escaping toxic relationships but also divorce does not necessarily make the problem immediately resolved because the KDRT perpetrators have abusive behavior (always criticizing, criticizing, want to take full control of your partner's life, feel always right and do not want to apologize, too sensitive and suspicious, and good at manipulating the victim is wrong) so here Jessica seems to need validation to convince herself that the decision to separate is the right decision.
Many people think why not just go to the police?
The law is the last choice taken if the support and assistance of the family or people around do not make the perpetrator deterred. Because imprisoning the father of his own child is not an easy case, because no child wants to have an ex-parent or a criminal and the impact for his child will be very broad.
So, I hope we can all take a lesson from this writing. What we do now will have a big impact on the lives of children in the future. Hopefully the figure of Rey, which I wrote is true in real life, a figure who is very aware of the need to work together to make Estelle a great and complete child in the future.
Thanks again, see you in the next post.😊
