CHAPTER 29

Mother: Mother:

Honey, you've come home from Bali and miss you, can we meet?

Jessica was dumbstruck reading a message from her mother. A week had passed when Daniel came to his baby shower and found himself pregnant. Now Jessica feels that this is the right time to tell her mother that she is pregnant.

Jessica is not nervous about pregnancy, as she knows her mother is also waiting for her first grandchild, but she is afraid to discuss her problems with Daniel.

Jessica:

I miss you too, mother. I'll visit tomorrow afternoon, if you don't bother making me rib soup, huh?

Along with the message, a message from Claire entered her phone.

Claire:

Me and my soup will arrive in less than five minutes, prepare to be my cooking guinea pig. We'll have dinner together.

Jessica frowned, rib soup again? sure enough, Jessica turned off her phone, her apartment bell rang. Jessica rushes to open it, she sees Claire not only coming up with her homemade rib soup experiment but with her husband and daughter.

Jessica looked behind Claire and Harry. "Jess, I didn't have that much to you, brought that bastard here" Claire said as she walked into Jessica's apartment followed by her husband from behind.

Claire who had too often returned to the apartment Jessica considered the apartment like her own, she went straight to the kitchen and took a few bowls and dishes, then served at the dining table.

Dania was sleeping in the stroler when she entered, Jessica woke the boy up wanting to hold him and play with him. Claire doesn't mind Jessica interrupting her daughter's sleep at all. "It's good that he wakes up at this hour so that at nine o'clock in the evening he will be sleepy and not interfere with my love time with my rich husband," Claire said as she shifted the dishes and arranged them on the dining table.

Jessica almost chuckled at Claire's words. "You have to sleep well so as not to disturb your parents' overtime" Jessica whispered to Dania.

"You know Jess, since we had Dania we hardly had time for two" Harry walked up to the dinner table and helped his wife.

"I don't even have time to shave my hair anymore" Claire said.

This time Jessica couldn't help but laugh. While holding Dania Jessica joined Harry and Claire at the dinner table. "Then tonight Dania sleeps with me, how? Have I learned to take care of the baby?" she started putting Claire's rib soup in her mouth.

Jessica looked down at Dania. "You hear that? We're both going to have a wonderful night together" he said.

Dinner was warm. "How's my rib soup?" ask Claire curious.

"Not bad," Jessica knew Claire was actually good at cooking, but she lacked confidence.

After dinner, Harry went down to the basement to pick up all the Dania needs they had in the car. Claire, Jessica and Dania lie on Jessica's comfortable bed while waiting for Harry.

Claire puts one hand on Jessica's stomach, she palpates gently looking for the baby's movement in her best friend's stomach. "Jess, is your baby okay?" tanya worried, as deep as containing Dania, in the womb like Jessica, Dania moves actively in her stomach especially when she finished eating, but Claire did not find it in Jessica's stomach.

"He's fine, I checked with the doctor yesterday" Jessica replied, smiling at Claire so she wouldn't feel anxious. "I think I'm carrying the laziest baby in the world." Jessica laughed, but not Claire, the woman looked at Jessica with a look of pity.

Claire knew it was Daniel who should have been in this bed, holding Jessica's belly, gently caressing her, and talking to her baby. But Daniel took away all the happiness and euphoria of welcoming their baby in Jessica's early pregnancy.

"Jessica," she said. "I've been wanting to tell you something for a long time."

'Oh my God', Jessica's mind, she doesn't like Claire's gaze and way of talking like that because it's certain Claire will talk serious things.

"What?" ask Jessica.

"I know you're sad about having to go through this pregnancy without my sister, but one thing you should know is that this pregnancy is going to be a great event that you've had your whole life. You're gonna be an amazing mom, your baby's gonna be proud to have a mom like you."

Jessica hugged him and thanked him. It was amazing for Jessica to hear words that could restore her happiness. Jessica rose from her bed with Harry's arrival along with a large suitcase containing all of Dania's needs, as if Dania would stay in her place for a whole century.

"We'll send baby porridge at 06:00 in the morning" said Harry.

Claire looked at Jessica closely. "Are you sure you're gonna look after Dania tonight?"

Jessica pushes Claire and Harry out of her apartment. "Love until you drown!" throw Jessica out, she closes the apartment door and prepares to start her adventure with her beloved niece.

Dania, the baby is so fun, because just overnight the boy taught Jessica a lot, from how to change diapers, heat the correct breast milk to put her to bed. Jessica felt ready to welcome the presence of a baby in her womb.
