CHAPTER 2

Daniel kept his promise, an hour later Daniel returned in a much calmer state. Daniel approached Jessica and cupped her face with both hands. "I used to say, if I wanted to be the best in my field. But now if I'm told to choose between my projects and making my wife happy... I chose you. You are my success. As long as you're happy, I won't have a problem where we live, I'm willing to settle in Jakarta. For my project in Osaka, I'm going back and forth to it, and the project will not be long for just a few months, I'm sure we can get through it easily."

Jessica smiled, she felt that her decision to apologize and the opportunity to Daniel was the right thing. Because marriage is really about discussing together. 'Daniel is not at all like Dad, Daniel still cares and puts me first, Daniel is warm and loves me with all his heart, ' Jessica said.

After completing the residence agreement, Daniel pampit went first to because there was a meeting that he had to attend.

"Don't you remember Claire's dinner invitation?" jessica asked as she drove her husband to his car that was parked on the porch.

Of course Danel did not forget the birthday of his favorite sister. "It's eight o'clock at night, right? I'll be home before seven" he kissed his wife's lips, then got in the car

"Okay, see you." Jessica waved her hand at Daniel's car, she just walked into the house and was ready to go to the boutique after Daniel's car was not seen again.

An hour later Jessica was already in the boutique, she was surprised by the arrival of Rey Chandra Adiputra, a famous actor who is also her former lover. Rey smiled at Jessica who had just entered her study, waved her hand around, then sat down opposite Jessika. "It's amazing, Jess," he said.

Jessica was silent for a moment, sighing heavily. "Thank you, so what can I do for you?" he tries to have a professional attitude.

Rey continued to smile, as if proud of Jessica's achievement. He then placed the paper bag on top of the jag and pushed it towards Jessica. "Gift for you" he said. "You can open it at home."

Why did he suddenly come and give me a gift? Does he not know if I am married?

"Do you want to come here and give me a present?"

"This gift I bought two years ago, but unfortunately I can only see you now because I think you're going to have a career abroad" Rey leaned her body on the chair.

The attentive Rey, she hasn't changed at all, she knows all the things I love. Jessica took the gift and put it on the floor behind her desk, trying to release the tension between them.

"I've come to ask for your help in making a wedding dress."

Jessica tried to hide her surprise at what Rey had said.

"Wedding clothes for my sister" he continued, laughing.

Jessica glanced cynically at Rey. "Why isn't your own sister here so I can figure out what her dream dress is and her size?"

Rey's face turned grim. "My sister is in a coma in the hospital, she had an accident a few weeks ago. But I want to keep making her a wedding dress" Rey said, slowly clasping Jessica's hand. "I believe you gave my best to my sister."

Jessica, who was troubled by Rey's treatment, immediately let go of her hand. "I'll try, I'll have people go to the hospital to measure your sister's body."

Rey reached into his pocket and took a business card from his wallet. "It's my card, you can call me if there's anything" she told Jessica. "Then I say goodbye. See you soon."

As soon as Rey walks out of her study, Jessica calls Claire, Jessica's sister-in-law and business partner, into her study. Jessica explained that the project this time they will make a wedding dress for the sister of a famous actor, but unfortunately the condition of the bride and groom is lying in a coma in the hospital. "Claire, can you help me to come to the hospital, measure her body?"

Claire nodded. "Of course, I'm going to the hospital to measure her body." she looked at Jessica, she caught something wrong since the actor left the boutique. "You okay?"

Jessica finally admits that Rey is her ex-lover. "It's been a few years, we're done. So please don't tell your sister if we're working with her."

Claire smiled as she nodded. "You don't have to worry, I won't say anything to my sister," she got out of her seat and walked out of Jessica's study.

"Claire, thank you."

"Together," she closed Jessica's office door.

Jessica grabbed down and took a paper bag containing the gift of Rey, she took it out and immediately knew the contents of a book wrapped in thin paper and she immediately tore it apart.

Jessic touched the handwriting, and put it on the table. He put his head on the table and he cried without tears.

Busy designing the wedding dress of the actor's sister, Jessica just arrived at her home at 19:30. He felt guilty for Daniel coming home late.

"It's okay baby, I'll call Claire. He'll understand, and he also knows you're very busy." Daniel stroked Jessica's face gently. "You take a shower, I'll wait for you."

Jessica nodded, she got out of Daniel's arms and went into the bathroom to clean herself up. Finished cleaning his body, he grabbed a towel and dried his body as he drowned out the sound of falling objects. Jessica's movement stopped.

"Daniel?"

Silent.

Jessica finished drying her body, then put on her pyjamas towel. The sound of falling things was heard again. What is Daniel really doing?

"Darling!"

Still no answer, he rushed out of the bathroom. "Darling?" she was shocked when she saw her dresser roll over. Jessica walked to the sofa to look for her husband, and Jessica found her husband sitting on the edge of the sofa.

"Why you, baby?"

Daniel looked up at Jessica with a sharp look, so Jessica could no longer recognize her husband. Jessica was confused by what happened, she guessed, whether her husband had just gotten bad news or....

"Daniel, you're scaring me. What's the matter exactly?"

Daniel pointed at his bag, he looked at his wife as if Jessica should know what was going on, but Jessica shook her head, still not knowing what Daniel meant.

Daniel showed me a business card "I just wanted to borrow your phone to notify Cleire because my phone is dead." Daniel put Jessica's bag on the table. "I found this business card in your bag."

Oh God.

No, no, no.

Daniel squeezed the business card." I thought my wife would never deal with her ex-boyfriend again." she stood up and picked up Jessica's phone. "So I called him."

Daniel clutched Jessica's phone tightly. "He's lucky he didn't pick up my phone." he threw Jessica's phone so hard that it hit a wall and smashed into pieces on the floor.

There was a two-second pause where Jessica thought, what will happen next.

Is Daniel going to leave her? Or will Daniel hurt her like he used to when they weren't married?

Daniel breathed his heavy breath and then he just went to the door. Daniel left his room.

"Daniel!" jessica shouted, she opened the door and ran after Daniel. Daniel had gone down the stairs, but Jessica kept running after him, until she managed to reach him.

Jessica pressed forward and grabbed her husband's shirt with both hands. "Dear I beg you to hear my explanation" Jessica said. 

Daniel looked at Jessica with a gaze full of anger, he clasped Jessica's shoulder and pushed Jessica's body away from him.
