CHAPTER 45

It's been five days since Jessica dated Rey, she hasn't told Daniel. It was frustrating for Jessica, but saying it to Daniel was also a scary thing to do. So he plans to postpone it as long as possible.

He chose to focus on his boutiques that this week lacked employees because Evelin was getting married, after all, it seems that he and Rey have no plans to date anymore because Rey is facing legal problems regarding Jordy's custody, she is also busy filming her latest commercials and movies, her restaurant business, and her family, and of course caring for a child who stepped on adolescence is certainly not easy.

This afternoon Jessica just got the news if Mother has a severe flu, so Jessica can not leave Estelle at all to her parents when her work piles up without Evelin. A week too hard for Jessica.

Claire returns from her lunch with a packet of chicken noodles and two cups of coffee for herself and Jesica. She reached out to Jessica and then returned to her laptop that was still on in Jessica's workroom.

Meanwhile Jessica started pouring chicken noodles into the bowl. "What are you wearing to Evelin's wedding?" Jessica asked him, while enjoying her favorite gerobag chicken noodles.

"Harry and I didn't come."

"What?" jessica almost choked.

“We couldn't, because it coincided with the wedding anniversary of my parents' fortieth. Daniel told me, he's gonna surprise dinner.'"

Jessica returned to scooping chicken noodles into her mouth, she knew if lately Daniel started to reduce his work, Daniel like to have a lot of time for his daughter and also his family so he made the show. "Did Evelin know you weren't coming?"

Claire nodded. “He didn't matter, instead looking happy for reduced catering, but he kept asking for two envelopes from me and Harry, "he sipped his coffee. "Are you going to take Rey?"

“Of course not, media is everywhere. I thought you and Harry were coming, and I didn't want to ask you and Harry to lie to me again.” he felt bad because last week when he was dating, they had to lie to Daniel.

"When are you planning on telling Daniel that you started dating?"

Jessica groans. "Do you have to?"

"In the end he'll know, what else Rey is a very famous actor."

“Maybe I don't need to explain specifics about who I'm dating, just so she doesn't get mad."

Claire laughed, but then she looked at Jessica curiously. “Why does Daniel hate Rey so much?”

“She doesn't like it because Rey once played a movie by Lady Rose whose story is similar to ours."

Claire looked at. "What else?"

Jessica shook her head. There's nothing else. "What do you mean?"

"Are you cheating Daniel with Rey?"

“What? No. gabe. For God's sake, no. I would never do that to Daniel." Jessica was a little offended by her question, but again she felt she had never cheated on Daniel. Her meeting with Rey when she was Daniel's wife was an accidental encounter, she had tried hard to avoid Rey. Only once he asks Rey for help, it is because of the urgent conditions and Daniel himself causes it, Daniel has persecuted him.

Claire's eyes swam in confusion. "I still don't understand. If you didn't have an affair with that man, why would Daniel hate him?"

Jessica releases excessive d*sahan. "I don't know, Claire."

Claire put on an annoyed face. "I never wanted to ask because I thought you were embarrassed because you cheated on my sister."

“We haven't even kissed since twelve years ago. Daniel just can't accept the part of my past that sometimes creeps into the present."

"wait. So you guys haven't kissed since twelve years ago?” Claire picked up the point from this conversation. "Not even on your date last week?"

“Our relationship is slow because there are many hearts that we have to take care of, one of which is your brother."

Claire grabs Jessica's phone at her desk, and she moves in and gives it to her. "Chat, Daniel right now! tell her you're dating Rey. Let him overcome his own feelings problems.”

“Cannot, problems like this should be talked about directly.”

"You're thinking too much about her feelings."

“You don't know your sister.”

Claire d*sah and threw her body on the sofa. "Harry told me he told me I had an affair."

Jessica was so happy that Claire changed the subject. "Yes, that's surprising."

Jessica laughs. "But you've been planning a wedding with Harry."

"Yes." Yeah." Claire admitted. “Tell me more about Rey, assume I'm your best friend not your ex-husband's sister.” They went back to the conversation.

"Are you sure this doesn't feel weird?"

“Why? Is it because Daniel is my brother? No, problem.” Claire shook her eyebrows while grinning. “So, what is he like? He is famous but looks mysterious.”

Jessica could not help but smile when she remembered Rey. “He's very easy to talk to, he's a good guy just like Harry. He is also a hard worker, although there are many rumors about him outside but in fact he is not as reported, he also has a restaurant. While I was, I had a boutique and owned Estelle, so we had a hard time getting together. Plus, she just found out she's got a little brother this week, so her life is kind of fucked up right now. Chat and phone call is our main source of communication, it is very annoying.”

"Is that why you keep checking your phone?"

Jessica could feel her cheeks heating up as Claire said that, Jessica didn't want anyone to know how often she and Rey exchanged messages or calls until she knew Daniel wouldn't be mad at Rey.

Jessica nodded. "What did he say?" ask Claire back.

"Rey asked if I wanted him to bring me lunch."

"Yes" Claire replied firmly. "Tell him you're starving, so is your friend."

Jessica laughs. "We've just eaten," she points towards the bowl of chicken noodles she's already spent, but as a nursing mother who is about to breastfeed Estelle then Jessica replies to Rey's chat with.

Jessica:

Can you bring lunch for two today? My co-workers are jealous if you bring me food only.

Reys:

I'll be there in an hour.

After an hour, Rey finally showed up. Jessica is busy with her customers, while Claire is in the production room monitoring the tailors. Rey carries a brown paper bag, and Jessica immediately signals Rey to wait in her study.

Rey waited patiently, looking at the sleeping Estella in the room next to Jessica's workspace, separated by a connecting door. Claire finished first, she approached Rey and had a conversation with her. Once in a while Jessica glanced at her open-door study, wondering what Claire and Rey were talking about.

Whatever they were talking about seemed like Rey was happy, Jessica could hear her laughter. It felt like a decade, only then could Jessica join them.

Rey bowed and greeted Jessica with a kiss on the cheek. Her fingers touched Jessica's elbows for a few seconds, the simple physical movement sending out a current that made Jessica instantly lose her focus.

"Thank you for the lunch" Jessica said, countering her misdeeds. "Have you completed Jordy's school enrollment?"

Rey had enrolled Jordy at a school not far from her residence. "Yes. Hopefully he can follow the lessons well, because he has not been in school for a long time.”

"I'm sure he can, '" he said. "I can't wait to meet him."

"How old is he?" ask Claire.

“She is only twelve years old,” Rey replied.

"Well," Claire said. “Usia before puberty, it must be difficult to cope with children of that age.” Claire snapped her finger. “By the way, next Saturday Jessica wants the condolences but she doesn't have the couplings."

Jessica turned her head and looked at Claire sharply. “I can take her myself, without your help!”

"May, but do you have any plans to go to bed and miss that?"

Jessica immediately blushed, and it made Claire curious. Rey turned to Claire and said, "Didn't she tell you that she slept during yesterday's date?"

Jessica was too embarrassed to look at Claire, but she could feel Claire's gaze. "I'm tired" said Jessica."It was an accident."

“Oh, can you tell me more details?” pinta Claire cheerfully.

“He fell asleep on our way to the restaurant, even he was still asleep when we arrived at the parking lot for over an hour. We didn't even get into the restaurant.”

Claire started laughing, but Jessica wanted to crawl under the table and hide now. "Who will marry?" ask Rey about Jessica.

“Assistant, Evelin. He works here.”

"What time?"

“Hour seven nights, if you have filming there is no need to force."

"I can," replied Rey “Honey once had to get back to work. Enjoy lunch." Rey nodded at Claire. “Happy to meet you.”

"Me too" Claire said as Rey was halfway to the exit, walking away in a cheerful mood, and it made Jessica happy.

"What's wrong with him?" claire asked when Rey had just disappeared from the door.

"What do you mean?"

“Why is he not married? Is he bad in bed? To the point that he's approaching you again?"

"Just son," Jessica seemed to take it

“You said you guys haven't even kissed yet. How do you know?”

“I said we haven't kissed since twelve years ago, we even slept together," Jessica was forced to say because she didn't want Rey to say bad in bed.

“Now I know why Daniel hates him so much, because you've shared a bed with a perfect partner like him."

Jessica raised an eyebrow. "I slept with him only once, long before I knew Daniel. And as far as I can tell, Daniel slept with his ex before we got married?"

"Different levels with Rey."

Jessica was surprised to hear Claire say, how dare she say it when Daniel was her brother.
