CHAPTER 37

For the first time since Estelle was one year old, Jessica allowed her daughter to stay at Daniel's residence. It feels very quiet to be in the apartment alone, usually the apartment is colored by small babbles from the mouth of his little daughter.

Just as Jessica closed her laptop, she heard a bell ringing. Reluctantly, Jessica got up from her bed to find out who the nights were coming from.

Without Jessica letting her in, Daniel holds Estella in his chest, one hand holds a sushi box and one hand holds a red wine, barging into Jessica's apartment.

Jessica took a long breath. 'How can I start a relationship with a new person when my ex still brings me dinner and breaks into my apartment? I need to set firm boundaries with Daniel.'

Daniel joins Jessica at the dinner table as she finishes putting her daughter to bed in the room. "My daughter, it's so adorable to be asleep" Daniel said, pulling up a chair and sitting next to Jessica.

Jessica took a sip of her soda, and said. "If it's so adorable why the opportunity to spend the night at your house you don't just use it well?"

"You mean?"

"I'm talking about privacy" Jessica said. "Daniel, we're divorced. You can no longer just come to my apartment to stay, and you no longer need to bring me dinner or lunch to the boutique. I can cook or eat by myself!"

Daniel looks tense, and upset, but he can't be angry with Jessica because Jessica can at any time revoke custody of her child and turn it into sole custody, the thing Daniel feared the most.

"All right, it's up to you." Daniel dropped his spoon and fork on the plate and then he got out of his seat. "Because Estelle won't be staying at my house tonight, tomorrow afternoon after coming home from work I'll pick her up at your boutique" she exited Jessica's apartment.
