CHAPTER 39

Although she apologized in person last day, Jessica was still haunted by the guilt of Rey locking her in the closet.

He grabbed his phone at his dressing room, to contact Rey. On the second ring, Rey picked it up. Rey turned the voice call into a video call so she could see Jessica's face. "Is something bothering you?" he saw a look of uneasiness on Jessica's face.

"I just wanted to apologize about last afternoon, I really..."

"I told you, I understand," Rey cut, she seemed relaxed and calm. "Do you have a show tonight?"

Rey's question made Jessica smile, she drowned her face in the blanket, so Rey wouldn't see her red face. "Are you asking me out?"

"It can be said like that" he replied. "I happen to be on a shooting holiday."

Jessica slowly nodded her head, and then they both smiled. But then Rey cleared her throat. " May I ask you something important?"

"okay." Jessica tried to hide her nervousness over what Rey was about to ask.

“Is our closeness a problem for Daniel?”

Jessica did not hesitate to answer. "Yes." Yeah."

"Why?"

“He doesn't like you.”

"He doesn't like me or he doesn't like any guy you could potentially date?"

Jessica scrunched her nose. "All. But especially you.”

"Because of the fight at the hospital?"

“Because of many things,” Jessica admitted, she rolled on her back and moved her phone. "He blamed most of our quarrels on you."

Rey looks confused, so Jessica explains without making Rey uncomfortable. “Film adaptation of the Lady Rose novel that you played last year, has a resemblance to the story of our past, that's the trigger."

"Come on, Jessie. It's just a movie, it's just a coincidence."

Jessica turned on her laptop, she opened the blog she had been writing for years, and brought it to Rey. "It's no coincidence, Rey. I emailed Lady Rose and asked her to rewrite our story in her language style because I thought it could be our final memento."

Rey gaping, he did not expect that last year he really played the figure himself, and just deserved he did not have difficulty to deepen the character, the character, even he was like he was not acting because it turned out he was playing himself.

Rey breathed her breath. "Okay well, but our story's long over and we never communicate again after you go to college in America."

"Jealousy doesn't seem to have an expiration date" Jessica said.

Rey pressed her lips into a thin line for a moment, as if she was trying to suppress her frustration. “I understand. This is a difficult position for you," he stared fixedly at Jessica. "We're going to do it step by step, okay?"

"One very slow step at a time" Jessica added.

Rey adjusted the pillow under her head. “May I know what your blog name is?" tanyakanya.

"Secret," Jessica smiled full of mystery.

"Okay, then what do you write on that blog? Is that all that Lady Rose wrote?"

"If you don't want to tell me the name of your blog, read me something" she asked.

"No. God, no."

"Jessie."

Rey's face looks very hopeful and excited waiting for Jessica to read her blog."Come on!"

Jessica covered her face with her hands. "No, don't beg." He would give up on Rey's soothing green eyes if she didn't stop looking at him like that.

“Jess, since I was a teenager I'm very curious what you think of me. Just one paragraph that wasn't in the book.”

How can I say no to Rey? Jessica groaned and threw her phone to the bed in defeat. "Give me two minutes." he looked for the part he didn't give to Lady Rose.

"What do you want, I read? Tell me back to the first time we had sex?"

When Rey's face flushed red, she still remembered it all even she still remembered how Jessica felt. Although her work was surrounded by many beautiful models, she was never interested in sleeping with other women besides Jessica.

"I'll start from the first time I came to you crying because my parents were fighting."

"Yes, I remember" said Rey, putting one hand behind her head.

Jessica rolled her eyes. "Be relaxed when I embarrass myself" I murmured.

“It's me, Jessie. You don't have to be ashamed of me." His voice was still the same as before, so soothing.

Jessica sat down cross-legged and held a handpjone with one hand and a laptop on her bed, then she started reading.

A few seconds later the back door opened and the masked Hero saw me crying. "You okay, Je?" he asked while stepping out. I used my shirt to wipe my tears, and he took me to a very soothing place on the beach.

We saw the waves rolling around, he grabbed me and pulled me to his body until my head rested on his shoulder. I don't know how he calmed me down without even talking, but he did. Some people can calm down without talking and he is one of those few people. Totally opposite of my dad.

We sat like that for a while, until it was almost late at night and he drove me home.

Rey did not smile when Jessica finished reading. Rey looked at Jessica with a lot of feeling, and the burden in her eyes made her chest tight. “We are very young to interfere with your parents' problems,” Rey said, her voice carrying a bit of pain in it.

"I knew. Too young to deal with things we can't handle."

Jessica wanted to read the others, but there was a notification of Daniel contacting her. "Is there a problem?" Rey immediately knew if there was a change in the look of Jessica's face.

"Daniel called. Estelle's staying at her house tonight, chances are Estelle's gonna say good-bye to me."

Rey nodded in understanding. "Thank you. I have something I want to do, too. Don't forget Sunday night huh," Rey looked at Jessica with a seductive look.

"Yes, good night, Rey."

"Night, Jessie."

Even the way Rwy made such intense eye contact while saying goodbye made Jessica nauseous. He ended the call and buried his face in the pillow, Jessica screaming like I'm sixteen years away. After his heart calmed down, he contacted Daniel.
