CHAPTER 20

Finished breakfast, Rey invites Jessica to sail to the island of a thousand by using a ferry that she rents personally. Last night while he was keeping Jessica in his room, Rey contacted his manager to clear his schedule today. His manager had protested because there was an important meeting that Rey had to attend related to the menswear brand that would lead him to become a Brand Ambassador.

Actually, Rey has been eyeing the brand for a long time, but now Rey even asked her manager to rewind the meeting schedule, he did not even care if the brand failed to use his services. Her time with Jessica was too much to miss.

Breezy sea breeze Jakarta really reassuring Jessica, he could momentarily forget the mess of his household with Daniel. "I still remember you being so fond of the sea" Rey said as she walked closer to Jessica who was standing on the deck of the ship. "We often skip school just because you want to see the waves of the beach."

"The sea is so soothing." Jessica spread her hands, letting her clothes and hair flutter in the sea breeze. When he hates to see his parents fight at home or see his father hit his mother, all he needs is to see the waves, he said, so that every time it happens he always invites Rey to skip school just to see the sea.

Jessica was so beautiful with the beautiful scenery of the sea along their journey, Rey could not stop admiring her beauty, but his sadness and anger spread again when his gaze was fixed on the wound on the woman's forehead and neck. It felt like he approached Daniel and beat him all out but he knew if he did that, it would make things difficult for Jessica, and he did not want that.

It took them about four hours to reach the thousand islands. Rey could not bear to see the wounds on Jessica's neck and forehead that had not been treated by medical personnel, so once the ship leaned, he immediately took Jessica to a nearby health clinic.

Yeah, Rey knows that the clinic here isn't as good as the clinic in town but at least Jessica gets medical care and makes sure Jessica is okay, if Jessica needs more intensive care, she will force Jessica to seek treatment in the city.

Rey stood in the corner of the examination room, she did not take her eyes off Jessica when the nurse rearranged the bandage-style perfumes Rey's work last night. He did not really understand about handling the wound, so as long as the blood was no longer flowing then for him enough.

The nurse did not ask any questions, but from her expression that looks pity on Jessica, she knew that it was a wound because of aniyaya. After finishing fixing the bandages on Jessica's neck and forehead, the nurse glanced at Rey, then again looked at Jessica. "I want to ask you a personal question. I'll ask him to come out."

At that moment Jessica immediately realized that the nurse thought that Rey had committed this violence to her. "It wasn't him" Jessica said. "Please don't tell him to leave" he asked.

The nurse nodded in relief. "Is there a wound on the other side? I'll treat it before the doctor checks you further."

Jessica shook her head, the nurse would not be able to treat the heart that Daniel had broken. "Is there an obstetrician here? I want to check my contents."

Rey is surprised to find Jessica is two-bodied, but then her face turns into wrath. What kind of trouble did they face that man hurt Jessica who was pregnant? A man has no brain, his mind.

"There, the doctor will be here soon."

Rey smiled with relief when the doctor said that the baby in Jessica's womb was fine, but unfortunately the smile only lasted a while because the doctor looked at Jessica with a serious look. "Are you in rape?" not without reason the doctor asked this, because during the examination he found a wound in the sensitive area of Jessica.

Jessica's tears welled up in her eyes, and she saw Rey looking down like she couldn't hear them. "We have a special examination for cases like this. We strongly encourage you to carry out these checks so that you can report the matter to the police."

"No. I wasn't raped" Jessica replied firmly.

"Are you sure?" ask the doctor back.

Jessica nodded. "Yes. I don't need that check."

Rey faces Jessica and Jessica sees the pain in her face as Rey steps closer to Jessica. "Jessie, do this check. You will need it" he pleaded.

Jessica nodded again. "Rey, I swear" he closed his eyes and bowed his head. "He wanted to do that at first, but he stopped."

The doctor mediates Jessica and Rey, giving Jessica the opportunity to think and convince herself. The doctor knew that the victim of violence needed time to think and support from people around, especially when Jessica was pregnant so her mood was volatile. He wrote the prescription and allowed Jessica to rest at home, he said he could not do a CT scan on pregnant women, but if Jessica experienced unbearable dizziness Jessica should want to be treated.

Upon her return on the ship, Rey grabs Jessica in her arms. Jessica came back crying in Rey's arms louder than she cried last night. Rey held onto Jessica's body as long as Jessica cried.

Jessica hated herself for letting Daniel rape her, she buried him for not daring to report Daniel to the police and he left her like a mother, helpless when getting violence from her husband.

"Rey, can I stay here for a few days? I wanted to calm down." asked Jessica she looked at Rey with a hopeful look.

"Tinghall be here as you please. This is your house I'll take care of you and your baby, you're safe here." Rey patted Jessica's back gently.

It is ironic that Rey is the source of the problem that is disputed by Daniel but Rey is also a helper for him.
