Having a distinguished career, distinguished parents and a handsome husband, wealthy and loving his wife is everyone's dream. Alesandra Jessica Iriawan, who has just finished her honeymoon with her husband Daniel Christian, spent almost a month in Europe.
Both are now ready to return to their activities. Where Daniel, the famous architect will return to his office to take care of a series of projects that have been waiting for him, while Jessica is a young designer graduated from Parson School of Design, New York who has a series of awards, which has a series of awards, I'm going back to my favorite boutique.
But before starting their busy day, they took the time to eat breakfast together. "Morning babe" said Daniel, as he approached Jessica at the dinner table, he landed his sweet kiss on his wife's forehead.
While both were enjoying their breakfast, Daniel began to discuss the issue of his latest project.
"Jess, do you remember that real estate project in South Jakarta?" Daniel opened the screw.
Jessica nodded as she chewed on her strawberry pancakes.
"The project is now running at almost 50%, and I'm getting a new, bigger project back in Osaka Japan."
Osaka.
Hearing Daniel mention Osaka city, Jessica stopped chewing. Honestly, she was happy with the achievement achieved by her husband, only... "You mean we will long distance marriage?"
"Yes, of course not" said Daniel. "From the first time I did not intend to settle in Jakarta, I want us to move to Osaka and maybe only occasionally we return to Jakarta to monitor the progress of my work that is still running in Jakarta, Jakarta, or just look at your boutique."
Jessica's appetite was gone instantly, with Daniel easily saying his plan to move to Osaka without discussing with her first. "You never discussed this in our marriage covenant yesterday, Daniel." Jessica was really disappointed in her husband.
"You know, right, that I can't leave my mother alone in Jakarta? What's more lately mothers often complain of cholesterol and increased blood pressure. I can't leave her." Since her father's departure two years ago her mother's condition has declined so much that as much as possible every two days Jessica visits her mother's residence before leaving or returning from the boutique.
"I can't leave the boutique of my dreams either, Daniel. Managing a boutique remotely is not easy, I can't just hand over the management of the boutique to others including Claire because I mostly design my customer's order."
"But this project in Osaka is important to me, Jess. I will work with many important people there, and if I manage to work in accordance with the wishes of my clients, my name will be much more familiar again" Daniel said, he tried to convince Jessica that many other benefits would be obtained from the project.
"The value of this project is almost 20 billion, you no longer have to bother spending your time in that boutique."
Jessica shook her head, she smiled sinisterly at Daniel. "That bread was my dream and my dream since childhood. If you're telling me to stop designing, it means you're breaking my dream."
"This project is my dream, Jess!! I've been looking for it for a long time, for months I and my team have been strategizing to win this project. I can't take it off just because of the boutique." Daniel stopped the line.
"Why don't you continue? You're telling me that my boutique isn't more important than your Osaka project because your project is worth tens of billions?? Daniel, not everything you can measure by matter."
Daniel's emotions peaked until he finally ventured it by hitting a flower vase on the dining table.
Praangs…
As the two of them looked at the vase, Jessica was terrified to see Daniel's anger, and her body began to tremble.
Daniel reawakens the trauma he just buried, and drowns his trust in him, because during a first courtship Daniel accidentally pushed him to hit the closet.
Jessica, who was drinking wine with Daniel, forgot the lasagna she was in the oven.
My lasagn!
"Oh shit," he cried while laughing.
Daniel rushes to the kitchen, and Jessica stands up from the couch and follows him. Jessica walked into the kitchen just as Daniel reached out his hand into the oven and took out his charred lasagna.
"Daniel! You need..."
"Fuck," cried Daniel.
"Put your hands" Jessica said.
Lasagna slipped out of Daniel's hands and fell scattered across the kitchen, Jessica raised her legs to avoid splashing bells and lasagna sauce, then she began to laugh as soon as she realized Daniel was not using a lap.
"This must be because of the wine, the effect is amazing."
Daniel slammed the oven door shut, then walked towards the sink. He put his hand under the water while cursing. Jessica tried to hold back the laughter, but the wine and silliness made it hard to stop.
Still laughing Jessica approached Daniel, he hoped that Daniel's wounds were not severe. Jessica's laughter broke as she leaned over to see how far she had to clean her kitchen.
In a split second, Daniel's hand popped out of nowhere and hit him, sending Jessica bouncing backwards. The force was strong enough that Jessica was wobbly, as her legs lost footing, Jessica's face hit the handle of the closet door.
The pain ran from the corner of his eye, just near his temple.
Tears, hearts, laughter, and souls were smashed to pieces, like broken glass, falling all around. Jessica clenched her head with both hands and tried to clear the last ten seconds as Daniel said. "Fuck you, Jessica" he said harshly. "This hand is my career." The voice penetrated deeply into his mind, slashing like a sword.
With guilt Daniel approached Jessica. "Jessica," she said. "Oh my God Jessica." Daniel pulls Jessica into his arms and kisses her. "I'm really sorry. My hands just burned, I panicked but you laughed, and... I'm really sorry, everything happened so fast. I didn't mean to push you, I'm sorry." Daniel dipped his face in Jessica's hair. "Please don't hate me, Jess. I beg you to forgive me."
Flashback.
Realizing his wife was starting to get scared after he broke the vase, Daniel opted out to calm himself down.
"I'll go first, once I've calmed down, I'll come back and we'll continue this discussion." he walked out.
Hearing the front door close, Jessica let out a sigh of relief. He hoped Daniel would return feeling calmer so that they could discuss finding a middle ground for their domestic problems.
Jessica did not mean to be disobedient or not support her husband's career, she was very proud of all the achievements that her husband had achieved, she said, but to leave Jakarta feels too heavy because his dream was embedded in this city long before he hit Daniel.
