CHAPTER 38

"Jess," Claire approached Jessica in her study, and she was in a hurry and panicked. "Daniah fever. Harry said he had a little flu. We have to take him to the doctor, I'll go home first, okay?"

Doughing her beloved niece off, Jessica looked up and turned her attention to the laptop in front of her. "Of course, Claire. Hurry up and take my Dani to the doctor! Let me know if there's anything with him."

"Okay," he turned around and walked out of the boutique.

Jessica sighed softly, this kind of transition season children are indeed more susceptible to flu. At Estelle school alone there are at least 2 children who did not enter this past week. Jessica turned to her daughter's bed in the corner of her study room, she hoped her daughter's endurance was strong so it was not easy to catch the flu.

When Jessica was about to go back to her laptop, she found Claire's perfume left on her desk. Probably this morning after she put it on in her study before she had a meeting, she forgot to put it back in her bag when it meant so much to Claire.

Jessica intends to contact Claire to say that she will deposit the perfume with Daniel later in the afternoon, so she no longer needs to come to the boutique. Not yet had Jessica pressed Claire's number, she heard a crackling of steps from outside her ward and seconds later the door opened.

"I was just about to." her sentence was interrupted when she learned that it was not Claire who came, but Rey.

"Am I bothering you?" asked Rey, she kept walking toward Jessica. "I brought you lunch."

Jessica smiled then glanced at her daughter, giving the code to Rey that her daughter was napping. Rey turned to Estelle's bed, nodding in understanding.

They enjoy lunch while talking in a slow voice so as not to disturb Estella's sleep. In the middle to the gist of their chatter, Claire surprisingly came. Jessica just remembered that she forgot to send Claire a message not to return to the boutique.

"Oh, wow," exclaimed Claire letting out a surprised expression seeing Rey in Jessica's study.

Unlike Jessica who seems nervous about Claire's arrival, Rey herself looks relaxed and smiles at Claire. "Hi" said. "I brought a lot of lunch, would you like to eat with us?"

"Thank you, I'm actually here just to get my leftover perfume." Claire walks over to Jessica's desk to get her perfume. "Sadly, I was in a hurry. But what is it?"

“Burning my honey,” Rey said.

Claire who was curious about the roasted chicken made by famous actors also walked closer to them.“It smells so good, can you pack it for me?” her door. "I can eat in the car."

Rey nodded, deftly taking the empty place to eat, then put rice, two pieces of grilled chicken, complete with chili made. As Rey closes Jessica's lunchbox up from her seat, she takes it out of Rey's hand, and approaches Claire.

"I beg you not to tell this to Daniel" he whispered as he opened the lunchbox.

Claire smiled, winking her eyes. "You don't have to worry" he turned to Rey. "Thank you Rey."

"Hopefully you like it" Rey smiled as Claire closed the door.

Claire had not been gone for two minutes, she again broke through the door with wide eyes, she approached Jessica and whispered, "Daniel is in front." Jessica's blood felt like it was freezing in her veins. "What?"

"Daniel is in this boutique, you have ten seconds to hide it," Claire glanced at Rey.

Jessica was sure Rey could see the fear in Jessica's facial expression when Jessica saw it, but very calmly Rey said, "Where do you want me to hide?"

Rey looked at the closet and then looked at Jessica, she pointed at the door. "In the closet?"

Jessica heard Daniel's voice greeting his staff outside, and she felt more urgent. "Is he there?" Jessica opened the closet door. It wasn't the most ideal place to hide a real human being, but Jessica had no other choice. "I'm sorry, Rey," she said as Jessica closed the door.

Claire was confused by Jessica's carelessness. "You hid it in the closet?" "I know."

"Jess..." Claire sounds disappointed in Jessica, but what does Claire want Jessica to do? Introducing them to each other?

“I mean, I'm glad you started to open your heart again, but. You hid it in the closet like an old coat," Claire said.

"I had no choice, Claire. Rey is the only man on earth who Daniel wouldn't bless for me dating.”

“I hate to say this to you, but there is only one man on this earth who will be blessed by my brother to date you, and that is Daniel.”

Jessica did not respond because what Claire said was true. "Wait, wait" Claire said. "Have you and Rey been dating?"

"NO."

“But you just said that he is the only man Daniel wouldn't approve of for you dating.”

"I said that because if Daniel saw her here, he would assume that."

Claire folded her hands on her chest and looked disappointed. “I feel very isolated now."

"What do you mean?"

“Why did he bring you lunch if you two were nothing? lalj why don't you tell me anything about him?"

"He's just an old friend of mine, Claire."

“I meet old friends every day. They didn't bring me lunch.”

"Your friends may not be artists who own a chef's restaurant. That's what restaurant owners do. They'll bring lunch to his friend." Jessica picked up the bag containing her daughter's needs, then she carried Estelle slowly without waking her up.

Claire doesn't talk anymore, in her wish she thought about a perfect world, she has a brother who never hurt Jessica, and Jessica will still be her sister-in-law.

As soon as Daniel opens the door to her study, Jessica gives Estelle to Daniel. Daniel looked up at the sofa. "You're eating?"ask Claire. "Don't you have to take Dania to the hospital?"

Claire snatches Estelle's bag from jessica's hand. "Yes, I just got out. Let me get you to the car, Jessica's doing so much work that she's eating in her room." she got out first. While Jessica kisses her daughter's forehead, Daniel follows Claire out of the boutique.

When Rey comes out of the closet, Jessica feels guilty, she almost apologizes ten times to Rey. "I get it, Jessie.. You're not ready for this relationship, but one thing you need to know. He's not who you are anymore" Rey left the boutique
