Darling, honey,
I'm sorry I had to leave without saying goodbye, because you fell asleep. I don't mind, I love watching you sleep. Even when we were in the car in the middle of our date.
Before, when we were teenagers. I often see you sleeping, I like how peaceful your face is during sleep, because if you are awake there is always an unsettled fear in you. But that fear goes away when you sleep, and it calms me down.
Before I felt so guilty about you, because I didn't fight harder for you. If I don't accept the offer of dating another woman to increase my popularity, you'll never meet a man who will end up hurting you the way your father hurt your mother.
But if you hadn't met her, you wouldn't have Estelle, so I'm grateful for that. You know, when I saw Estelle fall asleep, she looked a lot like you. I was so happy when I saw you interacting with her, seeing you so enthusiastically telling me about Estelle's development.
Let me get to know Estelle further, let me be a part of your source of happiness.
Rey
Jessica flinched , and almost tore the letter in half as someone banged on her car window. He gasped and glanced up to see Mommy standing next to his car, and Estelle lit up when the boy saw her through the window, and that smile was all it took to make Jessica smile again.
Well, Estelle's smile and the letter in her hand. He folded it up and put it back in the bag. Mother opened the car door. "Is everything okay?"
"Yes, there's nothing." Jessica took Estelle from the mother, but Mother's eyes narrowed suspiciously. "You sounded scared when you asked your mother to meet you in the garden."
"There's nothing" said Jessica, wanting to brush it off. “I just don't want Daniel to pick her up today. She was not in a good mood, and she knew Estelle was at Mother's house, so.” Jessica sighed and walked over to the empty swing. He sat on one of the swings and placed Estelle on his lap, facing outwards.
Jessica kicked the ground and pushed the swing a little, seeing the mother sitting on the swing next to her. "Jess..." Mother looked at Jessica with concern. "Tell me what happened."
Jessica knew Estelle was only one year old and could not understand her yet, but it still made Jessica uncomfortable to talk about her father in front of her. Jessica believes babies and toddlers can feel her mother's mood, even though they can't understand what she's saying.
Jessica tried to explain the situation without mentioning names. "I'm dating someone."
"really? Who?"
Jessica shook her head, she wouldn't tell him that it was Rey, even though Mother might not know who I was talking about. Mommy must have seen gossip on TV or social media that tells about Rey's relationship with him.
It will come, where the day Jessica will introduce Rey to Mother officially. "Only an ordinary man." he sighed and kicked the ground again "Daniel knew it, and he was not happy."
Mother frowned, as if she knew very well what her unhappiness meant. “She came this morning, and her reaction was scary. I freaked out, and then figured he'd come to Mother's house to pick Estelle up."
Jessica shook her head. “I was not hurt, although earlier he was quite stirring up my trauma, but I am fine.” he kissed the top of his daughter's head, without him noticing tears running down his cheeks.
Jessica immediately deleted it. “I don't know what to do. I was almost hoping something would happen so I could report it this time. But then I felt like a bad mother for thinking the abstainer imprisoned her father.”
Alice grabbed and squeezed Jessica's hand. “No matter what decision you will take, you will still be the best mother," she let go of Jessica's hand and clutched the chain, then looked at Estelle. “Mother greatly admires the decision you made for her. Sometimes I am sad because I cannot be that strong for you.”
Jessica shook her head. “Mother cannot compare our situation. I had a lot of support that allowed me to make the choices I made, while Mother used to have no one. In addition, I also have financial maturity that Mother does not have first.”
Alice smiled, then she leaned back and kicked the ground. "Whoever the man is, he's a lucky man who has won your heart," he glanced at Jessica. "So who is he?"
Jessica laughs. “No. I won't talk about him until our relationship is really serious.”
"He must be serious" said Mother. "Mother can see it in your smile."
The two of them looked up at the sky at the moment when the raindrops started to fall. Jessica slipped her daughter under her chin and they started back in the car. Mother kissed Estelle before Jessica put her in the baby chair.
"Gemma loves you, Estelle.”
"Gemma?" Jessica asked. “Sunday ago Eyang, why now change?”
"Let's cool" Mother kissed Jessica's cheek and then rushed to her car.
Jessica got into her car just as the rain was getting heavier. Huge drops of rain attacked the windshield and the hood of his car. Jessica sat down for a moment, waiting to think about where she was going before starting the car.
Jessica doesn't want to go home yet because Daniel may reappear, nor does she want to go to Claire's house because Daniel may be there. He feels very protective of his daughter now that Daniel has the right on paper to show up and take it from Jessica, but Jessica didn't allow her daughter to be near Daniel in Daniel's state of anger.
Jessica looked into my rearview mirror, and Estelle just sat quietly, looking out the window at the rain. She did not know the kind of chaos that surrounded her existence, because to her, Jessica was her pedestal.
Estelle depended on Jessica for everything, and she just sat there happily and comfortably, as if Jessica controlled everything. Jessica doesn't feel like she can control all these situations, but Estelle thinks she's her protector.
"Where are we going today, baby?"
