Sinda
The next few days I closed myself off from the people around me. I rarely go out of the house other than to work. And that made my relationship with Mas Adji even closer because I spent a lot of time at home.
Uniform business with Ms. RT is done, I made a pretty decent profit. After that, orders entered more and more. I have to thank Ms. RT for that. He told his friends to buy clothes at my place. And because of that now I have a little more money.
Actually I can use that money to buy fuel so I don't have to pedal a bike to work. But after I thought, I better keep the money just in case there is a sudden need. What if there was an unexpected event that required money, such as when Keisha suddenly had to be operated on at that time. Let me keep riding my bike to work.
Mas Adji's foot condition is getting better too. He was already able to walk without the aid of a tool even though it was still not strong. That's a very happy thing. It was not in vain that I set aside my salary to continue the treatment.
"Win, later if I have been strong riding a motorcycle, I take you to mother's house. I'll gather my whole family there and I'll make a confession, just like you wanted."
I remembered my request when I decided to forgive Mas Adji. I asked him to make a confession in front of his entire family about his mistake with me.
But I have forgiven Mas Adji, does it still need to be done? What do I expect from that confession if my relationship with Mas Adji is fine?
"We think about it later Mas, the important thing is that you recover completely first."
"I promised and I'll keep it."
"As far as you are."
"Win ... " Mas Adji called me a witty. I know there's something he wants to say.
"What's up, Mom?"
"So the company called me. They called me to work again."
Mas Adji looked very careful in speaking.
"Then?"
"What do you think? I want to ask for your opinion first. If you allow me to work there again then I will accept the offer. But if you don't let me then I'll find another job."
I was surprised to hear that. I don't know if Mas Adji's thinking about finding a job. Sometimes walking he's still limping is he able to work?
"How's Win? What say?" Mas Adji asked again because I did not give an answer.
"Is there no other choice?" many doubt.
I'm glad Mas Adji wants to work again. That means I don't have to be the backbone and take care of everything myself. But returning to his former company is not something Mas Adji wants.
I remember how her friends played in changing Mas Adji. Indeed I can not blame his friends, it all depends on each person. But still the sense of not sincerely let Mas Adji back to his old association.
"If you're in doubt, I'll find another job Win. It's just, baby if this opportunity is missed. If I'm looking for another job, maybe I'll be accepted as an ordinary employee. But if I go back to this company, at least I immediately occupy a supervisor position after that I can return to my original position."
I'm still pondering Mas Adji's words. That sounds very tempting considering how we are now.
"Win ...?"
"If you how? Do you want to go back to work at that company?" I asked Mas Adji.
"I work anywhere it doesn't matter Win. What is clear is that I just want to work immediately so that you do not have to slam bones like now. And this is the opportunity that lies before my eyes."
Adji spoke enthusiastically. His eyes were as fiery as getting the energy that came out of nowhere. I totally understand that. For months Mas Adji has been languishing inside the house because of his illness. Maybe he misses the outside world.
"I've been a burden to you for so long, Win. I've been cured. Now it's time for me to return to being the head of the household. You don't have to endure it all anymore."
Everything Mas Adji said was true. How many times have I cried to mourn? How many times do I expect this crash to end soon? But when the opportunity was in sight, my heart was filled with worry. Worrying Mas Adji will return to his former life.
"Win ...?" Mas Adji called me back because I still didn't give an answer.
"What are you thinking?" Finally Mas Adji lowered his voice. It seems like he just realized my turmoil.
"Your friends" I answered briefly.
Mas Adji breathed a long breath.
"I've changed Win ... I have learned from experience. I will not make a mistake for the umpteenth time. I won't let you down again."
I can't comment on Mas Adji's reply. Of course I feel scared. I struggled to survive in a household condition that was almost hopeless. I don't want my household to falter again because Mas Adji is back hanging out with his friends first.
Again, I do not blame Mas Adji's friends for what happened inside my household. I just thought maybe Mas Adji would be affected by the bad habits of his friends, just like he used to. Although Mas Adji claims he has changed, but no one can know what will happen later.
I really appreciate Mas Adji asking for my opinion first before making a decision. It means he appreciates me too. But for this time I objected if he had to go back to his old company.
"Mas ... When you asked me to stop working and focus on taking care of the household, I did. Now if I ask you not to go back to work in your old office, will you comply with my request?"
"What do you mean Win?"
"I don't agree you're working there anymore."
Disappointment was immediately seen on Mas Adji's face after hearing my answer.
"I'll follow what you want Win ... It's just our chance to have a life like it used to."
"I know Mas, but I don't want you to go back to what you used to be. Of course you still remember how you were dragged by the flow of your friends." Mas Adji lowered his head hearing me talk.
"I'm getting used to this situation so maybe a little longer in this kind of deficiency doesn't matter to me."
"I just ... " Mas Adji could not continue his words.
"I'd rather you work somewhere else Mas, any ordinary employee doesn't matter. What matters is that our household is peaceful."
