BLOOD

BLOOD
chapter 45

Jae Wook added that he had lost his family who were killed by other infected people forty years ago. He claimed to have been looking for her, even though he had not met. In the end, after forty years of searching, he began to feel the presence of these people when he met Ji Sang – these people were also looking for Ji Sang. He then observed everything from a distance without saying anything to Ji Sang.

“You mean I was made into that bait?” ask Ji Sang. Jae Wook apologizes, and confesses that he intends to tell Ji Sang everything he knows. Ji Sang asked again, “Then, how did you get infected?”

Before Jae Wook answered her, the scene changed to Ri Ta's figure who seemed to wander in his house. He recalled the codet wound on Ji Sang's cheek that had healed 100 percent without a trace. The noisy Eun Soo came with her cheerful babble. Seeing Ri Ta coming so, she tried to resuscitate him back down to the human earth. “Oiya, did you bring souvenirs from Jeju Island? Like orange, fish, or chocolate?” said Eun Soo. Ri Ta remained silent. Eun Soo shouted! Ri Ta remained silent. Eun Soo complains, why Ri Ta just come and shut up.

“Eh you know not?” ri Ta asked, her face cheerful. Eun Soo responded with a glowing face. But, Ri Ta paused her questions and statements on Eun Soo. He admitted he just wanted to sleep. Eun Soo doesn't let her and hints that Ri Ta seems to have a special interest in Ji Sang. The reason, he judged, Ri Ta has been acting strange since Ji Sang came.

We go back to Jae Wook and Ji Sang in the same place. Jae Wook told me that he had been a volunteer doctor in the country of Kochenia about forty years ago. He made up the story by mentioning that there was a sick old man, who when treated accidentally the man's blood spurted about his mouth. Although the blood hit him a little, but it had made him faint. Two days later, he woke up infected. “Then, I heard stories from local people that were quite shocking. They said the old man was not something that could be called a human.”

Jae Wook added, “After being infected, I realized there were infected people chasing me and my family. I also fight. But, my wife and child were not saved.” Ji Sang asks about the possibility of other infected people that Jae Wook knows about. However, Jae Wook shook his head and admitted not seeing her. He was alone, before finally meeting Ji Sang. “You yourself how?” ask Jae Wook. Ji Sang explains that he and his family also escaped from the pursuit of other infected people. He survived, but his family did not.

Manager Jung conducted literature research by reading the existing data. He found data that caught his attention. When looked at carefully, the photo of the data reminded him of the patient hand photo Ji Sang had shown earlier. He took his HP and matched the photo of the patient's hand he had with the photo of the data. He felt that the two photos fit together.
