The man exited the elevator after it stopped on the 14th floor, wearing a black jacket and a hat covering half his face he continued walking down the hallway in the silence of the night, all the residents of the apartment seemed to have fallen asleep under a blanket that gave them comfort in the heavy rain that flushed New York City, without realizing a demon was walking on their doorstep. The man stopped in front of a black painted door with no 1407 made of gold-colored iron, a demonic grin now adorning his lips, slowly he ducked down to put a white tulip flower with a red spot on the front of that door.
"Beautiful dream, little star," he whispered as he stroked the door gently. Slowly he turned back, his hands put in his jacket pocket, his grin turned into a whistle that echoed in the quiet hallway.

For several days confined inside the apartment with an injured leg without any activity, Kerelyn almost died of boredom. All he does every day is sit in front of the television or read a novel. As he is currently sitting on a wrought iron chair on the balcony of his apartment befriending a romance novel and a hot chocolate mug that has just been made by Maria, the domestic assistant was deliberately sent by her agency to petrify Kerelyn during her leg injury.
It was not without reason that Kerelyn was sitting on the balcony tonight, as the nights before she would sit there pretending to be late in her reading until Daniel came home from work and joined her. Kerelyn smiled as she recalled how during these few days they had missed every night together! If you think Daniel's gonna come to his apartment and they're doing fun things all night, you're a big mistake.. yep! They just talked all night.
As long as Kerelyn's leg was injured and confined to the apartment, she learned of the habits of her neighbor every night, and she would sit on the balcony of the apartment overlooking the Hudson River making friends with a cup of coffee, usually he would sit on a swing of a wooden chair deliberately placed there and Kerelyn would pretend to be out for a night's breath of air because it felt saturated being inside. Even though they were on their balconies, it was enough to make Kerelyn happy, they got to know more deeply. Kerelyn has told of her family living in Louisiana, and she also tells of her younger brother who works as a model and now lives in Paris.
"What are you daydreaming about?"
Kerelyn jumped to hear the heavy voice of someone she had been waiting for, her heart started beating abnormally as her eyes looked at the smiling man on her side, her hands piled up on the balcony railing facing her, her hair was still wet messy yet combed and for God's sake, Kerelyn was eager to stroke the black hair and inhale the masculine fragrance from the shompo she was wearing.
"I'm not daydreaming" Kerelyn replied in a voice as normal as possible. God, how could she be normal if Daniel looked so sexy with his wet hair, even if he was wearing a plain white shirt and black trending pants.
"Hmmm.. are you sure you're not daydreaming about me?" Daniel's temptation immediately made Kerelyn blush.
"Have you always been this confident?" Kerelyn asked nervously, which made Daniel's smile even wider.
"Well, I guess my guess is correct" Daniel said, sitting in his very comfortable swinging chair, and Kerelyn had fantasized hundreds of times that she was sitting next to the man there leaning against his chest.
"I think I'm a bad artist, so you guessed it" Kerelyn said grimacingly, he had already decided he would not pretend anymore to cover up his feelings for the man who had indeed stolen his heart long ago.
"No, you're a great artist, but I'm also a great mind reader" said Daniel, winking one eye to make Kerelyn laugh.
"So what are you daydreaming of me?"
Kerelyn laughed before answering her question, "Alright, I was thinking you're going home late because you're going to your parents' house first."
Daniel smiled, as usual once a week they would gather at the Winchester family home for dinner, this is one way their parents always get together with their children at least once a week considering they have all grown up and lived apart.
"No, I've called my mom that today I can't go home because there's a little business."
The business that Daniel was referring to here was the woman before him at this time, the woman who always made him want to hurry home and find him sitting on the balcony chair while reading a novel, maybe it was an ordinary sight but somehow seeing Kerelyn sitting there as if waiting for her every night, made her heart feel warm.
"Is your mother not angry?"
"No, but maybe he's a little disappointed about not being able to meet his handsome son."
"Oh my God, I just realized that you're all overconfident" Kerelyn said, making them both laugh.
"You told me how you, Alex and Gerard grew up together living in the same neighborhood until recently Alex's parents moved to Scotland, while Gerard's parents moved to DC, but you haven't told me how you met Theo and Dylan?"
Daniel smiled considering his two best friends, they grew up together, school and college in the same place even though different majors. Her parents had unasked been turned into the person in charge of all of them when it came to living alone in New York.
"Well, you could say they were new kids on the block.they moved to the West Village when High School and became friends with the twins. Any man who tries to get close to both of them has to deal with them first."
"really?" Kerelyn asked in disbelief.
Daniel nodded his head, "Yes, they'll even keep an eye on the two while dating."
"Oh believe me we've gotten so used to hearing these two babbles."
Daniel laughed considering how his younger siblings protested because of their attitude. Not only is Daniel their older brother possessive of the two, but Alex and Gerard have the same responsibility for both, it was as if the twins were their sister-three considering Gerard was an only child whereas Alex only had two brothers, so the birth of the twins is not only a comfort to his family but also to the family of Alex and Gerard who are expecting a daughter in their family.
Not enough with one older brother, two people who act as an older brother, Emily and Alexa were also rewarded with two friends who were no less possessive with all three complement their lives which was like having a security guard who guarded them for 24 hours and 7 days.
"Emily is finally getting married to Dylan, and I'm grateful that the man is Dylan."
Kerelyn smiled at Daniel's words, there was warmth in every word when talking about her family and friends.
"What about Alexa, isn't she dating?"
"Lexa?" Daniel asked before finally laughing as he recalled his sister, "No, he's not dating anyone, I think men will rethink if they want to date him."
Kerelyn frowned, not understanding what Daniel said about her sister, "Why Lexa? I think she's an interesting girl. There must be a lot of men approaching him."
Daniel nodded in agreement, "Indeed they both have personalities that make everyone want to always be next to them. But they have different traits, Lexa is arguably more formidable than Em, who is not the least of them, that's why our parents weren't so worried when she moved to Paris last year, but other than that Lexa has a bodyguard that'll kick anyone who dares to approach her."
Kerelyn was increasingly clueless with Daniel's words, "Personal Guard?" He asked curiously because he had never met his bodyguard.
Daniel nodded with a mysterious smile, "Yes and believe me only a foolish man would dare to face his bodyguard."
"But I've never seen Lexa with her bodyguards..Well, you mean Dylan and Theo?"
Daniel now laughs at Kerelyn's words, "Oh believe me, Sweetheart, you've met him. But not the two of them, Dylan and Theo will definitely take care of him, but you don't know what this one bodyguard can do" Daniel said casually in his laughter without realizing it had made Kerelyn's cheeks flushed red.
"Are you okay? Why is your face flushed? Are you having a fever?" Daniel asked worriedly after seeing the woman's face before him blushing like a boiled crab.
"Ti. no. I. am fine, " replied Kerelyn trying to be normal, "How about you, aren't you dating?" Sweetheart, Kerelyn added inwardly.
Daniel looked at Kerelyn for a while before he finally replied, "No, I'm not dating anyone."
"Really?.I mean why? I'm sure you won't have any trouble finding a date."
Daniel was silent for a while before answering Kerelyn's question, who seemed curious about the answer.
"I haven't thought about committing to anyone, you know, when women date most of them will demand a commitment or status, call it dating, and when they get that status they will demand a lot of things. They'll get angry when I can't reach them or reply to their messages, they'll get angry when I spend more time working, they will be angry when I prefer to hang out with my friends rather than accompany them to the salon or for hours in the mall, I don't want to be messed around by a woman who always demands attention and jealousy."
Kerelyn fell silent after listening to Daniel's explanation of a commitment, "But not all women are like that, Daniel, there are women who can understand and accept you for who you are... he can be good friends with your friends, and believe me he better spend time in the salon and hours in the mall with his female friends than with his lover who looks very miserable must accompany him choose between highheel or stiletto, he said, but when it comes to jealousy isn't that a sign that she loves you?"
Daniel raised his eyebrows while looking at the excited-looking Kerelyn, "If you knew such a woman. You introduced me, I'd date her, '" Daniel continued with a smile.
Kerelyn had just opened her mouth to speak when Daniel's apartment bell rang.
"Are you waiting for someone?" Ask Kerelyn.
"That might be Gerard or Alex, Mom would have told him to bring me some food.Wait a minute, I'll open the door," Danniel said then walked up to the door and opened it.
