Chapter 44
Last night Daniel, Gerard and Alex checked the CCTV of Daniel's car theft, from the road Daniel walked from the apartment to the supermarket, hoping a vehicle would follow them, but it was useless, and as Alex says, Daniel's car park is unreachable by CCTV, they can also see Daniel and Kerelyn meeting Eddy who got into his car immediately after parting ways with the two, then there's Matt walking to the parking lot, because he's next to Daniel's car, so they can't see Matt's car, but a few minutes later they can see Matt's car leaving the parking lot. About an hour later they saw Daniel running out of the supermarket, at which point Daniel realized that his car was missing and then saw Harry's vehicle entering the parking lot.
“We did not find anything,” said Alex while kneading his temple and closed his eyes because they felt tired all night they had to be in front of a computer screen to check the one and one CCTV video, I don't know how many times they repeated the video from Daniel leaving the apartment to the supermarket hoping that something was missed.
“Oh shit, I hope that baj*ngan did something wrong,” Daniel said as he stretched his body.
“It looks like something we passed... but what?” Gerard tapped his finger on the table thinking, thinking, he also looks tired like his two best friends but because he has been used to the computer for hours and even days without sleep so his body can better tolerate it than Daniel and Alex.
“Do you guys want another coffee?” alex asked as he walked to the kitchen to make coffee again, whether it was how many cups of coffee they spent last night to stay awake.
“Yes, we need a very thick coffee,” replied Gerard while choosing a USB that contains CCTV recording videos scattered on his desk. And some pizza boxes were seen piling up on the floor.
“I'll heat pizza for breakfast.” Daniel said as he stood up and picked up a box of pizza and walked towards the kitchen where the microwave was.
He put a few slices of pizza on the plate and put them in the microwave. And after a few minutes the sound of the heating device immediately made Daniel take out the pizza that had returned warm and brought him to the room where Gerard looked seriously staring at the computer screen, and Alex was sitting next to him drinking coffee.
“What are you guys looking at?” daniel asked as he sat to the left of Gerard.
“Genesis when your car accident,” Alex replied while looking at the computer screen, they were too focused on the video last night before Daniel's car disappeared, down every road through Daniel up to the supermarket, but they haven't checked the video after the car came out of the parking lot.
“That's my car,” Daniel said as he pointed at a car that passed very quickly through CCTV so Gerard had to search for videos from the next CCTV and until now they have not found anything. They still see the road that looks quiet only one or two cars passing through until finally seen a car that has begun to look good with the front door open which means that the driver of the car has jumped leaving the vehicle uncontrollable and eventually the accident occurred, the car was seen several times turning until it was finally dragged upside down and hit an electric pole.
Seeing the incident made the three of them speechless with their hearts beating fast, and for the first time the three of them were grateful that the car was stolen because otherwise Daniel would have been in the car and maybe his life would not have been helped again.
“Yes God.. I'm grateful that someone stole your car, D.” said Gerard who can nod from Alex and Daniel.
They were still staring at the computer screen watching Daniel's car overturned and destroyed, several passing cars were seen stopping and the driver came out and saw several people approaching Daniel's car to see if there were casualties or not, and the crowd was getting more and more, and more and more, finally the police car arrived.
“Wait!” exclaiming Alex, he brought his face closer to the screen, his eyes squinted focus, “Try to turn the plague,” he said seriously, which was immediately followed by Gerard without asking too many questions as well as Daniel who now looks seriously staring at the screen.
They saw from the beginning when Daniel's car rolled around until several cars began to arrive and some people were seen coming out, Alex increasingly focused his gaze towards the street where Daniel's car had come.
“Stop!” Exciting Alex while jumping down from the sofa, he is now sitting down right in front of the computer, “She!” alex exclaimed as he pointed at the computer screen where a man had just stepped out of the car and was staring at Daniel's car.
“Dia..” Daniel looks to think for a while before finally widening his eyes after remembering who the man who was appointed by Alex, “So he..”.
“We are not sure yet, D, we have to look for evidence stronger than just this,” said Alex without distracting him from the computer screen where the video has returned to spin, and a moment later he saw the man back in the car and then turn in the previous direction.
“G, play back the video before this incident, we have to see where he came from.”
Gerard followed Alex's orders again, he played back the street CCTV video before the accident, and it turned out that the man's car was there, Gerard turned long before the incident and again the car went through the same road as Daniel's car but was a little bit behind. Until they finally returned to the parking lot, the hearts of the three of them were beating violently, their eyes focused on the screen, and immediately they cursed when they saw the man's car coming out shortly after Daniel's car came out.
“We have to make sure again, this cannot be proof,” said Alex trying to be as calm as possible, he does not want to make mistakes in a hurry that will eventually only harm. And finally they decided to check the CCTV cameras from the self-service parking lot to see the incoming vehicles, to further convince their theory.
