“Raina, you look beautiful with hair like that!” Alexa exclaimed after seeing her cousin enter the apartment they live in.
“Really?” asked Raina while stroking her hair that now looks long, Daniel gave her a voucher at one of the leading salons in New York as a gift for her because she was going to come home to Indonesia soon, so he decided to do a hair extension so his short hair now looks long to half his back and slightly wavy at the bottom.
“You look so different, why don't you change the color of her hair? It will look more beautiful if you change it in brown,” Alexa said while sitting on their yellow sofa.
“Yes God, the cost of the salon here can be up to 10 times the cost in Indonesia!” raina exclaimed while shaking her head considering the fantastic price she had to spend for just hair extension, “If it wasn't for a voucher from Daniel, it was not for her, I will not want to spend that much money just to go to the salon,” he continued that makes Alexa laugh.
“And Daniel also gets it free from one of the show sponsors on his TV,” Alexa said among her laughs.
“But all paid off with this beautiful hair.” Raina said proudly while shaking her head making her hair sway to the right to the left.
“By the way, where is Daniel? Did you go home alone?” alexa asked after realizing that her cousin had returned home alone without Daniel, but her brother said he would come to his apartment after taking Raina to dinner.
“He's still down, along with Alex and also Gerard.”
Alexa nodded in understanding, “So how does it feel to have dinner together with a Daniel Winchester?”
Raina rolled her eyes remembering the incident at the restaurant earlier, “Yes God, Lexa, I hope you are there with us,” she said while looking at Alexa, “Everyone looks at me as if I was the reason behind the breakup of Daniel and Kerelyn,” he continued while breathing heavily as well as Alexa who is now looking at him sympathetically.
“We met Matt, Kerelyn's partner and he was having dinner with his film crew there, he deliberately came to our table to greet Daniel but all he did was look at me with probing eyes from top to bottom, until finally Daniel introduced me as his cousin, then he went back to his desk.”
Alexa laughs at Raina's story, she can imagine it. The relationship between Kerelyn and Daniel has been a public concern from the beginning, and now the news of their separation has begun to smell even though there has been no official news from the two.
“Do you know why they both broke up?” Alexa shook her head answering Raina's question.
“Nobody knows, Daniel always dodges whenever I ask so does Kerelyn. Though I really like Kerelyn and hope she will be my sister-in-law later.” Alexa said sincerely, she really likes Kerelyn because behind her figure as a famous artist, Kerelyn is a simple and pleasant figure.
“Iya, I like him a lot too.. Hey, how about we take him to lunch? We can make an excuse that this is my last lunch with him before returning to Indonesia.”
“Good idea, well I will ask him later when he has free time,” said Alexa with enthusiasm, Kerelyn will not likely reject it this time. And then he'll find out about what really happened between him and Daniel. Their conversation came to a halt when the apartment door opened and the three friends, Daniel, Alex and Gerard, were greeted by Alexa with enthusiasm because Gerard was seen carrying plastic containing Japanese food.
“You've always been my favorite, G,” Alexa said with a big smile as she took the parcel out of Gerard's hands.
“Hey, I bought it, he just took it,” Alex said as he walked towards the sofa and directly threw his body there.
“And the money is from me,” Daniel said as he sat next to Alex.
“You had dinner with your cousin at an expensive restaurant together without taking us, so you still owe me for just buying us Japanese food.” Gerard said as he sat down beside Daniel.
“Raina is going home to Indonesia, I haven't even had time to take her anywhere, at least I took her to eat mlam before she came home,” Daniel said as he leaned back and closed his eyes, he looked very tired that night.
“You're going back to Indonesia? When?” gerard asked as he looked at Raina who was sitting at the bottom with Alexa and pulled out the food box from the plastic.
“Next week,” replied Raina briefly without turning her eyes because now she is opening the food boxes.
“He will be betrothed by his mother, so must return as soon as possible,” said Alexa casually which made Raina look at him confused.
“A-what? Matchmade?” tanya Gerard couldn't believe what she heard.
“I-iya..match,” replied Raina after previously being able to pinch from Alexa who was sitting next to her while eating salmon sushi.
“Rain, show me the photo,” said Alexa with her mouth full.
“Photo?” raina asked confusedly.
“Iya, a photo of a handsome man who will be betrothed to you,” continued Alexa while raising her eyebrows giving code to Raina who still looks confused.
“O..ooh... photo... who yesterday you mean?”
Alexa rolled her eyeballs because her cousin still did not understand too, “Yes yesterday's photo, which you showed me.”
Raina finally smiled understandingly, she then took her phone and opened the gallery and showed a photo of a man who looked very handsome in his army uniform.
“Well, he's pretty cool, Rain,” said Alex who got a nod from Daniel, now the three men are watching the photo in Raina's phone.
“Iya,” replied Raina answering Gerard's question.
“He is ordinary,” continued Gerard while taking Alexa sushi and then chewing it with excessive energy.
“He is very cool with his uniform..If you refuse him tell me, I will replace him for you,” Alexa said with sparkling eyes staring at Raina who smiled at her cousin.
“What's the name?” daniel asked while taking the coffee they had bought at a coffee shop not far from Alexa's apartment.
“Rio... Rio Dewanto,” replied Raina casually mentioning the name of one of the Indonesian actors and husband of Atika Hasiholan. At this time the men were looking at a picture of Rio Dewanto wearing an army uniform for one of his roles in one of the films.
Accidentally yesterday when opening the twiter Raina and Alexa found the photo, and finally they both fad to download the photo because they felt interested in seeing the prowess of the actor behind his army uniform. Alexa says that the guy behind the uniform looks twice as cool, and Raina agrees.
“And you agree to be betrothed to him?” daniel asked back while looking at his cousin seriously. To be honest Raina felt bad to see Daniel as serious as it was responding to this all and all because Alexa who instead looks relaxed scrambling food with Alex, while Gerard looks a little weak.
“I have not decided it...we will meet first when going home later, and after that I will decide it.”.
“Listen, you have to think about it well, Rain,” Gerard said seriously, “You just know him, he could be the bad guy.”
“He's a soldier, G, not a criminal,” Alex said, who immediately got a look from Gerard telling him to be quiet but his best friend just shrugged his shoulders with a slanted smile.
“Maybe he's a playboy, like this detective.” Gerard said as he looked at Alex who was silent for a while then shrugged his shoulders again.
“Oh believe me, he is very loyal,” said Alexa who made Gerard look at him.
“Where did you know?” gerard asked in annoyance.
“Feeling a woman,” answered Alexa casually which made Gerard roll his eyeballs.
“Like Feelingmu to Ethan?” alex asks who made Alexa squint at him.
“Everyone has made a mistake,” said Alexa trying to defend herself, “But it seems now she is sorry.
“What? And you agreed to go back to him?” alex asked in disbelief to hear that Kerelyn's sister still dared to ask Alexa on a date.
“Do you think I'm crazy?” Alexa said as she shook and picked up the rest of her sushi.
“Good,” Alex said as he ruffled Alexa's hair with a big smile.
“Listen, Rain, do you have to obey your parents? Why don't you find a future husband yourself?” Gerard again asked Raina who was taking his coffee.
“Well, actually I do not have to follow the wishes of my parents but as a filial child I have to do it, at least I will meet the man who has been betrothed to me, if I am not suitable I will reject it, I will reject it, but if I match then I will marry him.”
“And trust me this time you won't turn it down.” Alexa again said that he got a plot from Gerard, while Daniel looks like he is in his own world regardless of the fanfare around him and it did not escape Alex's attention.
“Lexi do you have any fruit?” alex asked with his eyes on Daniel and the amber-eyed girl understood.
“We will prepare it for you guys, come on Rain.”
“What do you think, D?” Alex asked after the women went to the kitchen.
“No, I was just thinking when this was all over,” Daniel said weakly making his two best friends come to a silent thought.
“Have you found anything from Daniel's car camera yet?” ask Alex who got the trousers from Gerard.
“I have tried to work as soon as possible, but the damage is too fatal.”
“Alex, can we check the CCTV cameras in the self-service parking lot, it's possible that the police missed something,” Daniel said hoping to find something that could be a clue.
Alex was silent for a while before he finally said, “Alright, tomorrow we will meet at Gerard's place as usual.”
That night Daniel could not sleep like the night before, he was always struck by anxiety, even he was a little paranoid if he was walking alone in a quiet place or saw someone suspicious approaching Kerelyn's apartment. And it seems as long as the baj*ngan has not been caught then it will remain that way, therefore he will do anything to catch it. Including by endangering himself.
