“No, my guess cannot be wrong,” said Kerelyn did not want to admit the reality that was in front of him, “He was drunk, so it could have been an accident, is it?”

“Sweetheart...” Daniel said as he pulled Kerelyn back to sit next to him, “I know the woman, I've seen her several times at The Rock and she's pretty for a cop. Their colleagues always betrothed them both and I could see that Lucy liked Alex for a long time, but Alex always avoided dating other women.”

“You mean actually Alex likes that woman too? Lucy or whatever her name is.” Daniel smiled at his lover who could not accept that Alex was currently dating another woman, he even seemed reluctant to say the name of the woman.

“Yes, I know Alex very well, he doesn't want to when work is mixed up with personal business, he doesn't want to, so he has an unwritten rule that he always holds is not to date women who have the same profession with him, let alone one office with him. And now she has broken her own rules by dating Lucy.so, let alone her name it if not love.”.

“No, I can't be wrong,” Kerelyn said limply after hearing Daniel's words, she was very confident in her thoughts that the NYPD detective actually loved Alexa, he could see it from the way the man was protecting and looked at the amber-eyed girl. But is it just the affection that a sister feels for her sister? No, it was a different look in the eyes from the way Daniel, Gerard and the others looked at the twins.

“Listen, you don't have to think about this too much. They're adults, let them both determine their feelings, okay?” Daniel said as he pinched her soft cheek, which made her smile even though she still looked a little sad because her efforts turned out to be futile to unite Alex and Alexa.

“Please do not be too sad, because your efforts for the other one seem to be working.”

Kerelyn's eyes shone again after hearing Daniel's words, “You mean Gerard and Raina?”

Daniel nodded confirming, “Gerard began to realize his feelings for my cousin, but somehow he didn't want to admit it to Raina, he preferred to mess around every time he saw her.”

“Yes God, why is he so stupid!”

Daniel laughed when Kerelyn called her genius friend stupid.

“Have she ever dated? God, don't you tell me this is for the first time?” kerelyn asked while looking at Daniel in disbelief.

“Of course not, she has dated several times I can guarantee it.”

“But why is he now acting like a snot kid who just fell in love for the first time?”

Daniel shrugged his shoulders while shaking his head, “I don't know.”

Kerelyn again looked desperate, she leaned back her body while staring at the ceiling of the apartment. He seems to think how even Gerard-like men would look stupid when it comes to love? Because love is born of feelings not of logic, and feelings cannot be learned, the feeling of being born sincerely and purely from the heart is not the result of a multiplication or theoretical knowledge that can be learned easily. Just as he loved Daniel unplannedly, he could even endure three years to convince the man, but the wait has not been in vain because everything is reciprocated by the love received at this time. Not only does he feel loved, but he also feels safe and comfortable when he is close to him, a feeling he has never gotten from any man other than his father and sister.

“Kerelyn!” daniel cried again to wake up the girl's daydream, and, she now looked at her lover who had been standing on the balcony smiling gently at her and Kerelyn could feel the warmth in her heart when she saw the man she loved standing on her balcony against the backdrop of the city night sky New York, which makes it look perfect despite wearing only a white t-shirt and jeans.

Kerelyn smiled then stood up and started walking to join the man with night-dark hair and sharp eyes that made her feel lost when she looked at him. Daniel now hugged him from behind, his chin resting on the girl's shoulder every once in a while he would kiss the shoulder gently, no words spoken for a while, all they did was enjoy the silence around while feeling the gusts of the night breeze caressing their faces gently providing coolness.

“Aahhh... I feel peaceful,” Kerelyn said with a big smile that made Daniel smile.

“Because now no one else will scare you, Sweetheart.” Kerelyn nodded in acknowledging the truth of Daniel's words.

For three years he was always haunted by the figure of Simon Javier, but now the man is dead and now he can feel a freedom that has been shackled by past events. They again fell silent enjoying the peace and felt the affection in silence. Kerelyn leaned her head against the chest of her lover's field, her lips flattened a sincere smile, her eyes closed enjoying the gentle caress of the spring breeze, and her heart felt the warmth of the embrace of her loved ones. Daniel tightened his arms, he kissed the head of his lover with affection before he finally let go of his embrace.

“What are your plans for tomorrow?” daniel asked as he walked and sat on a chair made of wrought iron with a white sitting pad with small red flowers.

“Nothing, I will only have a short meeting with Boss at 10 am after that I do not have any plans,” replied Kerelyn who sat next to Daniel, “Is there anything important?” continued.

“Mom, invite us all to dinner at home, can you?”

“Of course, I'll call you when I'm done so you can pick me up.” Daniel nodded in approval to Kerelyn's advice, “Your mother is very good at cooking, very different from my mother,” Kerelyn laughed when remembering her mother.

“Are you close to your parents?”

Daniel could see the look in the eyes of affection when Kerelyn started telling him about her family.

“I'm close to my Mom but I'm closer to my Dad,” Kerelyn smiled with eyes looking up, “You know that my mom used to be a model?” Daniel nodded his head, who doesn't know a Barbara Howard, a top model and became an icon of beauty in her day but eventually resigned after having a daughter and preferred to focus on the modeling school she founded.

“My book might be great if you're in front of the camera or walking down the catwalk, but never ask him to be in the kitchen if you don't want to see the mess there,” Kerelyn said with a laugh as she recalled how she and Ethan would run away when they found out her mother cooked and finally her father had to suffer alone because he had to finish his wife's cooking.

“What's that bad?” ask Daniel, grimacing.

“Oh yes, believe me,” Kerelyn replied with a smile and nodded her head for more reassurance.

“I hope she only lowers her modeling talent to you, but not with her cooking skills,” Daniel again said with a grimace that made Kerelyn laugh.

“Take it easy, I'm not that bad.. tomorrow I'll cook your breakfast.”.

“No need, I prefer to drink coffee.”

“Oh no.. It is not good to just drink coffee. I will make you a healthy breakfast from tomorrow,” Kerelyn said with a serious face.

“No, I like stomach pain if you eat early in the morning,” said Daniel trying to convince Kerelyn.

“That's because you're only used to drinking coffee for breakfast,” Kerelyn said as she looked at Daniel seriously.

“That's not enough, breakfast is very important so you have to eat a healthy meal for breakfast,” he said excitedly, he then clapped once while standing up and said, “Alright, please, we should shop for groceries now.”

“You will seriously cook breakfast for me?” ask Daniel not to believe.

“Of course... Let's go to the supermarket now,” Kerelyn said as she walked happily into the apartment.

“Sweetheart.. but now it's too late to shop for groceries,” cried Daniel when he saw Kerelyn go inside his room to pick up a jacket and a bag.

“No, it's only 8 pm now, I know the supermarket is open 24 hours,” replied the red-haired girl while shouting inside her room.

“Sial! Why should there be a self-service open 24 hours, do they never sleep!” yelp Daniel shook his head and started wearing his jacket.

Kerelyn once made him a pancake and it's a charred! Okay forget about the charred, because it's still forgiven, but Daniel swears it's the weirdest pancake he's ever eaten, but because he did not want to hurt the feelings of the girl who took the trouble to make breakfast for him then he spent the pancake and praised him even though after he was a bit traumatized when he saw the soft and delicious pancakes that's.

And here they are, Kerelyn seemed to enjoy shopping, like an expert he sorted out the best foodstuffs, from vegetables to meat, as of now they are in the place of vegetables and look confused when it comes to choosing between red or green spinach.

“Daniel, do you like the same? Green or red?” kerelyn asked as she pointed the two vegetables in front of Daniel who was pushing the half-filled trolley.

“Whichever one, it tastes the same when I eat it.”

Kerelyn was seen breathing heavily while looking at her lover, “This is clearly different, D, the color is different.. This one is red while this is green,” he said seriously.

“OK, tell me the difference of the two besides.the color, of course,” Daniel said while staring at Kerelyn amusedly. Kerelyn opened her mouth but then closed it again, she looked at the vegetable alternately then looked at Daniel who raised his eyebrows waiting for an answer from her. Kerelyn opened her mouth again but then closed it again.

“You are right they will be the same when cooked later,” Kerelyn said while putting red spinach in the trolley made Daniel have to hide his smile.

“So why did you choose the red one?”

“I love the color,” Kerelyn replied casually while walking quickly leaving Daniel who could not hide his smile anymore.

“Sweetheart, wait for me.. hey, look! There are still a lot of red vegetables, don't you want to buy them? Don't you like red vegetables, ” Daniel's tease that makes Kerelyn walk faster and faster leaving him. Daniel laughed as he walked quickly after his girlfriend, but suddenly he stopped when it was felt his phone rang, he saw Alex's name on the screen before answering the call.

“Hallo.”

“D, is this you?”

Daniel frowned at Alex's question, which sounded confused and anxious. He could hear the sirens and also some busy-sounding people being the background of Alex's voice who had to shout a little.

“Not, this is Brad Pitt.”

“Thank God this is true you.”

Daniel could hear a relieved tone from Alex's voice.

“Man, did something happen?”

“Tell me where are you now?”

“I was in the supermarket with Kerelyn,” Daniel replied as he looked at Kerelyn who was on the spice rack.

“Did someone borrow your car or maybe steal it?”

“Man, what are you talking about? No one borrowed my car let alone stole it, my favorite car is parked pretty in the parking lot,” said Daniel relaxed while pushing back the trolley with a mobile phone in his left ear that was clamped by his shoulder, he stopped next to Kerelyn who was seen reading instructions for the use of an instant spice.

“Do you want to borrow my car?” he continued after moving the phone to the right ear and holding it.

“No, not like that..hmmm... D, looks like someone just stole your car.” Daniel was silent for a moment, he looked confused by the words of Alex who suddenly contacted him and said that his car had been stolen. How can someone steal his car when he just used it an hour ago.

“Man! Don't joke about my car. You know no one's gonna dare touch it or I'm gonna teach him a lesson, and I just used it how it could have been stolen,” said Daniel while laughing trying to convince himself that his best friend was just kidding.

“I'm not kidding, D, because your car is now in front of me and just on the crane in a shapeless state.”

Daniel gaped in disbelief hearing Alex's words for a while before finally realizing that Alex was not joking, “Sial! Look, I'm gonna kill you if you lie to me,” he exclaimed as he ran out of the supermarket into the parking lot and he just found the place where his car was parked was empty. Daniel immediately cursed and took out his oath when he realized someone had stolen his favorite car.

“A... someone has stolen my car.”

“I know,” Alex said with a big laugh and that made Daniel again take his oath of absorption.
