Chapter 4

"You okay?" Emily asked as she clasped Kerelyn's cold hand.

"Yes, I'm fine, I'm fine," Kerelyn tried to smile even though she looked very forced, "Oh no, I'm not okay," he continued with a very obvious fear and it made everyone feel concerned for him.

"You have nothing to fear, I will take care of you," Daniel said solemnly, "For a while, don't go alone, do you understand?" It is more of a command than a question.

Hearing that Kerelyn's heart suddenly felt warm because she was sure that the man would hold his words to take care of her.

"Kerelyn, I'm sorry I had to ask you something," Alex said seriously, "Did you know he was a drug dealer?"

Everyone was wide-eyed at Alex's question, Kerelyn frowned for a moment before finally shaking her head.

"I know that she's a wearer because I've seen her use and that's why I wanted to part with her, and that's what happened when I ended up in the hospital, but if a dealer... I really don't know."

Alex nods at Kerelyn's story, "You better be careful, Kerelyn, and if he dares to see you again you call the police for help, do you understand?" Again more of a command than a question, but it again made his chest feel warmed by the attention.

Everyone again fell silent in their own minds but that became the object of their minds the same, it is about Kerelyn and the fate of women who always appear cheerful and smiling in front of the camera, they now know that women are just ordinary women who can be hurt, he said, sad and scared in the real world.

"So what movie did you bring, D?" Theo broke the silence and attempted to divert the conversation from the matter that made Kerelyn paled.

"Can't we watch F&F again?" Emily asked while looking at the pile of dvds Daniel was carrying.

"No!" The men answered almost simultaneously which made Emily pout and immediately got a soft kiss gift from Dylan and made her smile again.

"Then Twi..."

"No!" Everyone answered back before Alexa finished her words that made the girl frown but fateful for her because no one gave her a kiss like Emily.

While everyone was still arguing about what movie they were going to watch, Alex gave Daniel the code to follow him, walking first towards the kitchen that Daniel soon followed.

"Listen, D, you have to look after Kerelyn for a while now, Simon has something planned for her." Alex whispered as he opened the fridge in search of something.

"Damn! Shouldn't that baj*ngan still be in jail? How could he be free?" Daniel growled, he recalled how Kerelyn was covered in blood back then and it was a very terrifying sight.

"With money and power everything can happen, Man," Alex said, taking out plastic apples and closing the freezer.

"Is he that good?" Daniel asked as he took the mug out of the cupboard and filled it with cold water.

"Simon Javier is the man in charge of drug trafficking from half of New York City."

"Damn!" Daniel cursed after realizing who Kerelyn had been dealing with all this time, "Didn't he have been in prison all this time? How does he run his business?"

"I told you, D, with money and loyal people he can run it even with his hands tied."

They were silent for a while, Alex started biting his apple while Daniel just stood up looking thoughtful.

"Does your current case have anything to do with that baj*ngan?"

Alex just nodded in response, Daniel himself did not ask further given that his friend had often run a disguise and he knew how Alex had to keep his disguise from anyone including his own family.

"All you need to know is Simon is a very dangerous man, he won't let his enemies just like that. And Kerelyn was the person he thought was most responsible for his arrest yesterday that caused his reputation to be slightly tarnished and caused considerable losses."

Daniel went back to thinking about how to keep his neighbor away from the dangers that were threatening him.

"Would he tell his manager and ask some people to escort him?"

Alex nodded in agreement, "We should take precautions before anything bad happens."

"Well I'll remind him to tell his manager about this matter."

"What are you two doing here?"

Daniel and Alex turn to face the origin of the voice where Alexa is standing looking at the two suspiciously.

"You must be talking about women" said Alexa, shaking her head, leaving Daniel and Alex to wince their relaxed eyebrows, "Daniel, Karelyn was watching you like an Eagle," he whispered while leaning towards his older brother. Daniel turned his gaze towards Kerelyn and smiled at the woman who was looking at him.

"Are you guys dating?" Alexa asked casually while peeling the apple, but in contrast to Daniel who was choking because of his sister's question.

"No, we're not dating.he already has a lover, Lexa," Daniel replied after stopping coughing.

Alexa frowned in disbelief, "Really? But I'm sure he likes you."

"He's Matt Foster, I saw him deliver Kerelyn last night, and you had to see how they posed in the photo shoot."

"Shooting?"

Daniel nodded, "But the other day they both just did the photo shoot and I took the picture."

"So she was with her boyfriend and is now with you?" this time it was Alex who asked while leaning against the kitchen table casually.

"She said her manager had business with her boyfriend."

"Did she say Matt was her lover?"

"No, but you'll find out just by looking at how they're putting each other's bodies together" Daniel said as he picked up the apple.

"What?" Asked the black-eyed man while staring at double A alternately.

"You're jealous" Alexa said, backed by Alex with a serious nod of her head.

"No!"

"Yes, and Matt is not her lover," Alexa continued, biting a piece of apple.

Daniel snorted at his sister's prediction, "How do you know?" Daniel crossed his arms over his chest while looking at the brown-eyed girl.

"Alex, are you gonna let your boyfriend spend Saturday night with another guy like... Daniel?" Alexa asked as she looked at Alex who immediately shook her head.

"No, I'll keep an eye on him for 24 hours."

"Alex, are you going to let your lover get carried away by another guy like.. Daniel?"

"No, I'll take her first."

"Daniel, wasn't he the one who took care of you when your hand was hurt?" Daniel answered Alexa's question.

"Alex, are you gonna let your boyfriend take care of another guy like... Daniel?"

Again Alex shook his head with a serious face, "No. I better hire a nurse for him."

"You see? Even a man like Alex wouldn't let his girlfriend take care of another man and spend Saturday night with that man and his friends, I will proudly introduce her to everyone," Alexa nodded seriously dramatizing the results of her prediction.

"What do you mean by a guy like me?" Alex furrowed his brows at Alexa.

"Playboy," Alexa replied casually.

"Oooh," Alex nodded in understanding.

Daniel was silent for a moment thinking about Alexa saying, "You're wrong, he took care of me because he felt he owed me his life, he didn't miss Saturday night alone with me but with all of you, he said, he came home with me because we were living in the same apartment building" Daniel said, trying to give his own thought, but it only made double A take a deep breath and look at him with concern.

"He likes you, D" Alex said, smiling at his best friend.

Daniel was wide in disbelief, "No, you must be wrong."

"He's right, Daniel, Kerelyn likes you" Alexa said with a smile.

Daniel raised his eyebrows, "How did you know that?"

"For God's sake..You're very smart in everything, except women. You don't see how he always looks at you with sparkling eyes?" Alexa looks desperate considering how her brother does not understand how women.

"Lexi, are you going to spend your time caring for a man you don't like even if he saves you?" It was Alex's turn to ask.

"Depending on whether he's handsome or not" Alexa replied casually which made Alex look at him in annoyance.

"Lexie!" Reminds the girl.

"Oh well, no, I'm not going to do that, but I'm going to give him money for treatment" Alexa said, nodding.

"Are you going to spend Saturday night with another man, when you have a very handsome and famous lover?"

"No, of course not, I'd rather spend my night alone with Edward Culan" Alexa replied seriously.

"Lexi, are you going to ask your neighbor to drive you home while you're with your girlfriend?"

"No, I'll threaten him if he doesn't drive me home first! Or I'd better take a taxi, but if my neighbor is a handsome guy and offers to take me home, I'll think about it."

"Lexi, enough," Alex said as he rolled his eyes at the girl's words, "Do you see? Even a woman like Lexi wouldn't spend their time with a man she doesn't like."

"What do you mean by a girl like me?"

"Jombo."

"Ooh."

Daniel was silent for a moment thinking about the double A speech, he looked back at Kerelyn who was secretly stealing glances at him. Girls like Kerelyn who are not only beautiful but also famous artists may not like it, right?

"Oooh. I hate that you've worked together like this" Daniel shook his head at the two who just smiled casually, "I'd rather you fight" he continued, leaving the two behind.

"Want to bet how long he'll be aware of his feelings?" Alexa looked at Alex with a defiant look.

"One month," Alex said confidently.

"Three months."

"The loser must grant three winning requests" Alex makes his bet this time.

"Ok, agreed!"
