Chapter 22
Kerelyn stared at the red invitation paper with silver ink writing that seemed so luxurious, her mouth gaping in disbelief, his eyes stared at the charity party invitation as if it was a death sentence letter that had just been written for him.
“You want me to attend this party?” Ask for the umpteenth time to make his manager nod again with sympathy, “Eddy, that's right! Don't you know who's having this fucking party?” Continue with an emotional voice.
“I'm sorry but it wasn't me who asked you to come to the party..This is Boss's order,” Eddy said with a face of pity.
“Sial, Eddy! The one who threw this party was baj*ngan who almost killed me!” Kerelyn exclaimed fieryly, “And now you want me to come to the baj*ngan party? Are you crazy?”
“Kerelyn, , believe me I have opposed this plan at all costs but Boss says that this is your chance to prove to the public that you have recovered from your past trauma and show that you are not afraid of ******** that.”
“Oh believe me I'm still so scared that I have to go back to face that baj*ngan, I almost died then, Eddy, if only Daniel hadn't helped me. Have you forgotten how many broken ribs I have? Or did you forget that I was almost blind? And now you want me to come to him as if nothing happened? Nah! Better you guys fire me than I should come there.”
Kerelyn got up from her beige sofa and with a face full of anger she walked towards the window of her apartment which presented a view of the Hudson river. His emotions were stifled when he learned his agency was asking him to attend a charity party hosted by Simon Javier's company. He had accompanied Simon in a similar party a few years ago, usually the party was attended by influential businessmen, celebrities to state officials, and mass media will cover it massively.
Yes everyone thinks Simon is a young entrepreneur in the field of property success and also philanthropy, he even entered the ranks of Man of The Years, with an established life, with a long life, the beautiful face and generous nature then it is not wrong that he falls into that category even though it is all just a mask, but his good name was tarnished three years ago when Kerelyn reported it for acts of violence, everyone was surprised by the fact and the problem managed to be a news item for several weeks. No one will believe that until the people are shocked by Kerelyn's condition.
Everyone was sympathetic to him and Simon Javier's good name as a generous young successful entrepreneur was simply ruined at the time. And now that he's out of prison, the man apparently intends to get his good name back by throwing a charity party that costs millions of dollars to be donated to the less fortunate through his humanitarian foundation.
“Kerelyn..” Eddy's speech was stopped by the sound of the red-haired girl's apartment bell, she got up from her seat and walked towards the door to see who was coming.
“Man, I'm grateful you came, I need your help to convince him,” Eddy whispered after opening the door and saw Daniel standing there while putting his hand in the pocket of his jeans that look confused to hear the words of a slightly long and messy man who has a crimpy hair his face looks desperate.
“What's up?”
“You will know soon,” said Eddy while opening the apartment door wide so that Kerelyn's lover can enter.
“Kerelyn, there's Daniel here.” Hearing his manager say about Daniel's arrival made the girl slightly smile even though she still looked upset.
“Hai, Sweety,” Daniel said as he kissed Kerelyn gently, “Are you okay?” he continued, pulling Kerelyn sitting next to him, followed by Eddy who sat in front of them.
“No, I'm not okay,” he replied as he looked at Eddy sharply, which made his manager take a heavy breath.
Daniel stared at them in turn until his eyes caught a red invitation on the glass table before him, he furrowed his brows for a while then took out the paper which made Kerelyn so angry.
“Sial, Man! Just be right! You want him to come to that damn show?” daniel said with emotion as he looked at Eddy furiously, which made the man in front of them look confused.
“Listen! It wasn't me who asked her to come to the show, but it was Boss.”'s order Eddy tried to defend himself while staring at the two who were still staring at him sharply.
“Didn't the man know what happened three years ago that almost killed him? Damnit damnit! Just look I will make a calculation with him later,” furious Daniel while throwing the invitation on the table, “And you! You've promised to give him some bodyguards, until now I haven't seen their nose sticks!” This made Eddy desperate.
Kerelyn was silent for a while before finally breathing heavily she leaned her body on the back of the sofa, slowly Eddy's smile began to rise because she knew that she had managed to convince him.
“Oh, shit! I don't like this,” said Daniel after realizing that the thin man's words had begun to make Kerelyn waver, and that proved the truth about the negotiating expert from an Eddy Smith.
”Daniel, will you go with me?” Kerelyn asked as she tilted her face toward Daniel who immediately smiled at his lover.
“Hmmnm... I'm sorry,” cut Eddy with a sorry face, which made the pair of lovers back to scold him.
“I'll really kill you, Eddy!” Daniel growled while breaking the table that separated him from the skinny man who immediately jumped back.
"Listen to me first!" He cried with both hands in front of his body to stop Daniel's rampage.
"You've just denied that you're dating and you're just friends, and now you want to go on the show as lovers? Man, it's going to be a big scandal" Eddy said fiery but only cold tatan from Daniel.
"I-tak-pe-du-li.. Do you understand?"
Eddy looked desperate, he took a deep breath before trying to convince the man he just knew had a possessive nature when it comes to people he cares about.
"Listen, if this wasn't a party that Baj*ngan was holding, I wouldn't care either. But this baj*ngan is a person who deals with Kerelyn's past. Had he come with you tomorrow, it would only make everyone think that you came just to make his ex-girlfriend jealous, and show that you, Kerelyn, are, still feeling scared and hiding behind your new boyfriend. While we have to raise the image of Kerelyn if she is a strong woman and not afraid to face monsters like baj*ngan it."
Daniel and Kerelyn fell silent, both thinking about Eddy's words that had little point.
"Aarrrgghhhh!" Infuriated Kerelyn desperately she dropped her back onto the back of the sofa looking desperate.
"Listen..I promised to bring some bodyguards to guard her, and I will always be by her side," promised Eddy solemnly.
"Damn, Eddy! I'm sure you'll only last ten minutes at most before you finally woo the servants who are there to take you out," said Daniel who made Eddy open his mouth but closed it back with a wry smile.
"I promise it won't happen."
"As you promised when we came to the new year party in time squre that finally caused me to be hurt by my own fans because you were busy seducing a model? Or at the party at Matt's and I finally got to take the taxi home because you went home first with the new artist?" Eddy could not say anything he could only stare at Kerelyn with a sorry look.
"And are you sure that the guards won't take their eyes off Kerelyn? They also can not follow him like a shadow because if it happens then your efforts to raise his image to be a brave girl will fail miserably," continued Daniel who made Eddy frown again thinking about it, said, and he had to admit that what Kerelyn's lover said was true.
