"You're trying to force me to Adry?" his eyes flashed with anger.
"If you think like that, please. I don't care what you think. You should go with me. If the doctor says you're healthy, I'll go."
Raina's eyes narrowed with suspicion. "Simple that?"
Adry nodded his head. He was sure that none of the doctors in the country would declare her healthy. Raina looked thin and weak, a streak of fatigue clearly visible on her face. His face was very pale and his legs were swollen.
Raina bit her lip and seemed to think. He then breathed out a hard breath.
"alright. If that doctor says I'm healthy you have to get out of my life."
"Yes, only if the doctor says you're healthy" Adry repeated.
Raina then sat herself on the mat and leaned against the wall. He closed his eyes for a moment. The quarrel with Adry made him tired and hungry but he was unlikely to say so and asked the man to bring him some food.
Adry himself wanted to exasperate. Raina was unaware that she was unwell. She needs someone on her side to take care of her.
An hour later they arrived at a hospital. Adry immediately brought Raina to the womb. He had already booked the examination schedule overnight so it was just a matter of waiting for the queue.
Raina immediately got up when her name was called. He then filled out a medical record guided by a midwife.
"Dad's name?" ask the midwife. Raina looked confused to say it.
"Adryan Carl Quandt" answered Adry. Raina looked at Adry with an expression she could not guess. The midwife asked about something else again and Raina answered her. The session to fill the book was finished now Raina just had to do a urine and blood test.
Raina goes through all those checks alone while Adry is nowhere to be seen where she is.
Raina then exited the laboratory after her blood sample was taken. She held her waist while walking towards the iron bench where the women and her husband sat waiting for their turn to see the doctor.
Suddenly one hand held his arm. Raina turned her head to look at Adry. A sense of calm and protection was again present in his chest. Had it not all happened, he would have been by the man's side and would not have had to go through any of this.
Adry helped her sit in a chair and then she sat down next to him. Adry took out a box of rice and gave it to Raina.
"You hungry? I bought this outside" he said. Netra Raina. Adry always knew how to behave to her.
"Eat first" he said, handing the rice over to Raina's lap. Raina then held it and started to open the rice. Delicious rice Padang. He started eating because he was very hungry.
Adry looked at it carefully. He then took a bottle of mineral water, opened it, handed it to Raina.
Raina straightened him in a hurry to cough. Adry rubbed the woman's back gently. "Slowly."
After waiting for an hour, finally the call for Raina sounded as well. They entered the doctor's office.
It turned out that the doctor on guard was a handsome young doctor. It makes Adry unhappy, but he can not replace the person they want to meet.
For the first time in months, Adry touched her again. Raina held her breath as her skin came into direct contact with Adry's hand. As if to understand there is movement on the skin or indeed the fetus understands if it is the hand of his father. There was a small movement that came touching Adry's hand under the skin, making the man soar in surprise.
He stared at Raina, his chest suddenly beating faster. Raina blinked her eyes.
"The little girl knew that her father was touching her so she reacted" the doctor said.
"Dad," murmured Adry. It's possible that he's her father even though Raina denies it. Instantly he became a fool. This feeling is hard to explain.
The doctor began performing a sonogram in Raina's abdomen. The tool is looking for a suitable location so that it looks clearly the shape of their prospective child. Raina's sight was blocked by Adry's body, so Raina had to stick her neck out. Adry then stood by her side and held onto Raina's neck so that the woman could clearly see her future baby.
"Beautiful daughter," murmured Raina.
"You're right" said Adry, amazed to see that. The first time he saw this beautiful thing. His eyes spread and there was a smile, as if what he saw was indeed his son.
"Or maybe he's a boy" Raina said, looking at the baby's movements in her stomach.
"If you want to know her gender, I'll show you" the doctor said.
"No! Let it be a surprise" Raina said. After a while the doctor stopped his examination. He had Adry clean the gel in Raina's stomach.
Then they went back to the doctor's desk. The doctor's face looked unpleasant, there was a frown on his forehead while reading the notes.
The doctor breathed before saying anything. "It looks like your health is not good according to existing medical records. Your blood pressure goes up and there's a residue of protein in your urine."
He looked at Raina's hand. "Your hands and feet are swollen, your body weight is substandard, looks thin for pregnant women. That describes if you are lacking in nutrients. Do you have excessive nausea so you can't eat?" The doctor looked towards Adry who was able to provide enough food and nutritious to his wife but the woman instead looked like a lack of food.
"You seem to be showing preeclampsia symptoms and it's very dangerous."
Adry scrunched his forehead. "What disease is a doctor?"
"It's not a disease, preeclampsia is a potentially dangerous complication of pregnancy characterized by high blood pressure.
Pre-eclampsia usually begins after 20 weeks of pregnancy in women whose blood pressure has normalized. This can lead to serious, even fatal, complications for both mother and baby.20 percent of pregnant women affected will die if not treated seriously."
Raina swallowed her Saliva deeply.
"She had to be treated and hospitalized until delivery. However, if you and your husband promise to take care of this pregnancy and rest completely then you can go home and give birth according to the time."
"I... ."
"I promise to take good care of her. He wouldn't even lift a finger without my eyes." Adry is relieved that she does not have to find any other reason to keep Raina from leaving her.
