"Have you eaten?" ask Adry to Leon.
"So the nurse nurse was feeding. It feels weird."
"Maybe it's because you're not used to the food here yet" Adry said. Leon nodded his head.
"Does all this hurt?" ask Adry.
Leon pulled both corners of his lips. "Sometimes, it's possible for those who aren't used to feeling pain but I've been friends with that pain. Dad said if you feel pain then close your eyes and think of the person you love then the pain will go away" Leon explained.
"Dad?"
"Yes, Dad. He calls me every weekend. For a minute, it made me happy. The thing I thought about when the pain hit was mom, I didn't want to see her cry because I saw how I was. In addition, I have a spirit of wanting to be healthy in order to meet with my father" said Leon.
Adry smiled wryly, in his heart shouting that he was his father.
"Why do you want to meet your father? Don't you have a great mother by your side?"
Leon's eyes rose upwards.
"Because I want to know what my father is like, his face, his body, everything related to him, and I want to feel my father's embrace" Leon said with a smile looking at him. Leon's statement, made Adry's eyes condense instantly.
Adry walked to the hospital window. He stood there and wiped away the tears he could not hold back.
"Don't tell Mom about dad, Om." Adry turned the body again.
"Why doesn't your mother like or get angry when you talk about your father?"
"Mom always answered what I asked, only if I asked about dad then at midnight mom would cry alone while holding the ring in her hand."
Adry's heart sighed in pain, the ring was still kept by Raina.
Adry approached Leon and sat down on the bedside next to him.
"Have you ever seen that ring?" ask Adry. Leon nodded his head.
"The ring will shine if it is exposed to the light of the lamp" Leon said. Adry rubbed Leon's head it warmed his heart.
"Why has Om never seen a ring in your mother's hand?" ask Adry.
"Here mom put it in the necklace she was wearing. I like to hide it under my shirt so that it doesn't look like anyone else. Mother said it is not good to show it to others. However, the ring necklace is no longer there said mother was sold for my blood washing costs yesterday. Remember when we first met? At that time, the ring was no longer there. Mom sold it first before leaving for the hospital."
Adry lowered his head down. A sense of guilt and sin filled his chest cavity. Such a heavy burden befell Raina and it carried itself. He had never even complained about what had happened to Leon. She was like saying that I was able to do it on my own without your help or anyone else when she was very weak and needed help.
Deep sympathy is engraved in Adry for Raina. He admired the woman and her prowess in living the wheel of life that had crushed her deep into the deep mud.
"Om, I've never seen Om, but I know Om is married to Mom. When did you meet?" ask Leon.
"It was a long time before you were in this world" said Adry.
"If Om is married to mom, Om is my stepdad."
Adry sighed and nodded his head heavily.
"But I'll keep calling Om. I can't call Dad because I have to ask him for permission first. Honey, I haven't called you this week."
"If you're on the phone later, I'll ask him to get acquainted with Om" Leon continued.
"Om sure, have you seen your father's face through a video call?" Adry looked at Leon.
They were silent for a moment.
"Can Om hold you, Om wants to know what it's like to have a son like you?"
Leon nodded his head. He was about to get closer but Adry had hugged the small body slowly and then became tight. One hand to caress the back of Leon's head.
"Leon, you can hold me if you miss me. You can call me your father even if you don't want to call me father, and you can ask me anything because I consider you my son." Adry pressed both of his eyes tightly so that the clear circle did not squeeze out.
"I'll call you father if my father allows it" Leon said.
"You promise! Should I ask your father for that?"
"Well, does Om know my father's number?" exclaim Leon.
"Om can ask your mother" said Adry.
"Metal as well."
Leon's room door starts on tap. Adry got out of bed to open it. There stood Roy who carried several bags of groceries in his hand.
"Wow... look! Who's coming? Om Roy brought you a lot of presents!" exclaim Adry.
"It's not from Om, but ay.eh Om Adry who ordered all this for you" said Roy.
"You're late, Leon almost died of boredom waiting for you."
"Sorry, I was confused where to buy this. I've forgotten how to be a kid your age" said Roy, closing in on Leon.
He then started taking out all the toys in the bag and some new clothes he put in the closet.
"New clothes again?" ask Leon wonder.
"Why? You are now my son because it is fitting that I meet all your needs" Adry said. Leon reached out with both hands to hug Adry Adry and then approached and hugged Leon.
"Thank you, Om," said Leon. Adry rubbed Leon's back while pecking at the top of his head.
"Either. Sorry Om had to separate you from your mother for a while because your health condition had to be stable before the surgery."
"Operation?" ask Leon.
"Yes, there's a kid who wants to donate his kidney to you. If you've got a new kidney, you don't have to feel pain anymore and don't have to go through the painful process of dialysis."
"It's a pity for him" said Leon. Adry was silent just sighing. "The mother must be very sad."
"It's also, too" Adry continued.
"Perhaps, will my father also be sad when I'm like that?"
The deg! Adry's face pias instantly. Roy looked at Adry closely at the man's reaction.
"Don't say anything bad. You're going to be fine and I'm going to make sure everything goes well" Adry said trying to calm Leon down but to himself, scared and agitated to hear it.
"However, Om cannot control death because it is God's right. Mom explained that to me when Grandma died."
"I'll never let you walk out of my life again even if I have to pull you back from the dead" Adry said unknowingly.
