Mutual Forgiveness

"Then what do you want? You want me out of this house and your life if that's what you want then I'll happily do it!" Roy turns to go out but Janeta's hand grabs him.

"No, listen to me until it's over. Please."

The tone of Janeta's voice sounded soft and clear. Very different from the tone of the voice of the woman who is haughty and arrogan.

Roy turned around to look at Janeta.

"Sit on that bench and we talk. Maybe we've never done it all this time because that's why I want to start all over again" Janeta's voice sounded hoarse and sad making Roy automatically follow it all. The woman's eyes also look sad something that Roy has never seen so far.

Was there anything he missed after the shooting? Has Janeta changed but is it that easy to turn around in the direction of being a good woman? It feels hard to understand and believe.

"I knew that everything I did was wrong and I began to realize after everyone turned to hate me when I was helpless."

"Especially when I see my own son angry. The person I love the most and I defend his rights turns to hate me. It hurt my heart terribly. But I realize I was wrong. You know I until this second I didn't tell anyone about my feelings." Janet wiped her tears.

"Only one person who still tries to be kind to me and still defends me even though he hurts you often. That guy Raina. He was too patient and too kind. Until I found out why Adry loved her so much and defended her. Raina is like an oasis in a barren desert. Giving freshness in the heat and tiredness of life. Long time I watched Raina and her children. Brand is very good. Even an angry Leon was yelled at by Raina for saying such a disrespectful thing to me. He taught love in the family."

"Raina is a good person. Big brother's lucky to have it."

Janeta nodded. "You are also a good man and a good son. Your father is right there is nothing lacking in you. You always wanted to do what was best for this family and for me. You often even ignore your circumstances for the sake of this family, especially me."

Roy raised his face staring in disbelief at what Janeta said. Trying to spy further into his eyes was this woman's intention. There was no lie that he felt instead there was sincerity and earnestness from his tone.

"My pain left me a lot of quiet and contemplating trying to piece together the memory pieces that I had neglected all this time. Memories of everything." Janet's eyes looked red and spread.

"Yes, I remember that you were always with me, always near me and always there for me. Not Adry or your father. You always help me take care of all things even trivial things like taking my shoes or clothes. Or a big thing like taking down people who are trying to take down our families. You did it all without questioning it. You are indeed the best child I have, but my heart is too blind to understand everything. "

Janeta comes down to rest and almost falls out of her chair but Roy's hand holds her.

"I beg you to forgive your mother. I don't even deserve you to call me mom again after what I've done. I tried to kill my own son." Janeta crying in Roy's chest.

Roy hugged her. "Don't do this to me don't apologize to me like this if I'm your son. A child does not demand his mother to apologize. No Ma'am."

Janeta hugs Roy tightly releasing the burden in her heart all along.

"I'm sorry."

"I've always forgiven Mom just that I was afraid that you'd still hate me after what my real mother did to you."

"I realize I shouldn't hate this I'm inflicting on you you're not wrong" Janeta said.

"I know now that God actually gave me another child from another woman. The best kid I had but I ignored him."

Roy stretched his arms. Holding Janet's shoulder.

"Really Mother, I was accepted into this family alone was a great gift for me. I don't want to ask for anything. Just want this family's love for me."

Janeta cupped Roy in the face. "From today I will love you more than Adry. I promise."

Roy hugged Janet. "Thank you."

They hugged for a long time. Janeta lets go of her embrace and asks Roy for help to get back on her wheelchair.

Outside the room. Adry and Raina eavesdrop on Roy and Janeta's conversation from the door opening slightly. Raina hugged her husband along moved by the atmosphere that the child and mother did.

"You see, everything's gonna get better. There is good in all difficulties. There will be a morning after a full night. And now, the dawn of life begins to show its light beginning a little. It started with Roy and Mom's relationship improving."

Adry didn't say anything but he was happy to see it all.

"I'll call Frans to get you some food."

"I.." Roy wanted to say no but Janeta moved her index finger in front of him.

"You haven't eaten anything for three days in this house. I cooked your favorite food. Bolognese spaghetti."

Janeta then pulls the bell from the pocket of the skirt. Start lifting and sounding it. It was a bell to call Frans in lieu of the remot Raina gave her.

Frans who had prepared from earlier in front of the door fell silent not daring to move. Raina took the tray of food from the hands of the goulash man, then wiped her tears.

"You go, don't peek at this family event. I'm afraid that you will spread this news to all the servants in the mansion" Raina said in a whispered voice.

Frans widened his eyes as he clenched his lips tightly. He turned his body around and left immediately. Raina smiled.

Raina pulls Adry's hand to go inside the room. Adry refused.

"You promised you'd take mom back if she apologized to Roy." The two of them then went into the room.

"So Frans got a stomachache so asked me to bring this here" Raina said when she saw Roy and Janeta were surprised to see those who came instead of Frans or other servants.

Adry then sat down next to Roy and hugged the man's shoulder.

"How are you doing?"

Roy smiled wryly. "It's better."

Raina looked at the expressions of the two people and laughed.

"Then eat yes" said Raina.

"Remember Raina, I want to feed Roy."

Adry and Raina stared at each other. They smiled and handed the plate to Janeta.
