Rigid Face

"I thought you were a long way from my life" Karina said, turning her body.

"Not until you finish your job!" firmly Roy.

"Other tasks?" Karina looked annoyed and lazy at Roy.

"We don't know yet what my mom's gonna do? You can leave until this is over."

"Oh, that's not the deal!" Karina.

"The deal is you follow all my orders until it's done."

"But ...," said Karina restrained.

"Your parents will be my business, you just have to obey all my orders until they're done."

"I think Adry's problem with his mother will never be solved" Karina said quickly as she looked up.

"As long as you stick with his ego. His mother just wants their son back."

"Know what you're up to with our problem," Roy advanced forward so that their distance eroded. His eyes stared hard at Karina. She felt that the woman was too ignorant with her family. Feeling the truest and even trying to justify Janeta's actions.

"I don't know much but I do know that Lady Janeta loves her son very much. Otherwise, he would not have cared for his granddaughter well and affectionately."

"Who do you think is the most guilty?" roy's voice was low full of emphasis. The man's breathing was starting to feel heavy. Jaw tightening.

"The parent is never wrong and the child should understand why the parent wants it. If it's wrong, the child should give understanding instead of staying away."

Roy laughed sinisterly without a sound while shaking his head.

"How can you say it like that, you don't know the real events so there's no need to blaspheme. Try to think with your wits, if my mom was a good person she wouldn't use parents to pressure you."

"What am I doing is telling you this because you're just an outsider who won't understand us!"

"Prepare yourself, now we're going back to the island," said Roy leaving Karina casually.

"You can't do this to me. I want to go back to my parents!" karina was upset.

"Just relax, I've been tracking them down. They're in good shape. Even though your father had a little complication while on a trip to Germany from Africa. My foster mother was a little pushy indeed. It's a good thing your father is alive otherwise you'll hate him too" Roy sneered without turning his back to walk out of the room. The man was about to turn the doorknob when Karina ran and stood in front of the man.

"Dad...he's why?" the woman's eyes looked reddish and hoped for more explanation from Roy.

"He had only complications, a little shortness of breath so he had to be rushed to the ICU as soon as possible. The doctor who was keeping him on the plane had almost given up but was lucky he was still alive. Maybe he wants to see you at the end of his life."

Karina's breath was choked and stopped staring in disbelief at Roy's description. She bit her lips to hold back her cries.

"Please, let me see my father before I do this job" he tweeted expectantly. A single drop of tears shot down from his eyes, something he had not wanted to show anyone all along.

He knew very well that he had wasted time and if it was just a misstep then things would be difficult for Raina and Adry. However, his conscience did not allow the biggest mistake to break one's heart.

Roy knows very well how important it is to be present when someone we love so much needs us. In the last moments of his life.

Karina sat on the side of the plane window. More silence but already a box of tissue he spent wiping his tears.

"Eat," said Roy as Karina refused the food the flight attendant served.

"I don't want to" he said without turning his face towards her.

"Eat, if you want to meet your parents otherwise this plane will be sent back to Indonesia."

Karina wiped her tears and took the food from the hand of the flight attendant, eating it with a bad taste. He barely felt anything. His mind was only one about his father's safety. Although he knows his father made mistakes with the corruption he did but all this time his father always did his best for him. Her father always gave her love and sacrificed for her.

The plane landed in Berlin, Germany. The country that for two years was not stepped on anymore by Roy and avoided by him. Not because he hated the country or his parents but rather to avoid all problems. He wants to leave the past. Too angry at the selfishness of Adry's parents that made his life and Adry suffer.

They then headed to a hospital at the end of Berlin. It is not the largest hospital in the area but the tools used are very adequate.

A man in a black jacket came in when Roy got out of the car. The man whispered something to Roy. The man then reached out to Karina. The woman returned Roy's hand. They were following the man.

Roy walked in front while Karina followed him. Some people walked closer to them. From their gazes it seemed like they were Roy's men.

The male doctor aged between thirty-five with blond hair came over. His body was tall and small, with pale white and reddish skin.

"How's the patient doing?" ask Roy.

"It's stable, it's just that his condition is still unconscious."

Karina looked towards the Doctor.

"Are they still there?" ask Roy.

"Looks like yes, I hope you're not making a fuss here. Many other patients will be disturbed."

"I won't make trouble."

Roy walked towards the hallway where Karina's father's room was. His mother was sitting in front of the room.

Two black people who were sitting guard stood up when they saw Roy coming there.

They pulled out the gun and pulled the trigger. Karina's mother immediately realized the incident. He looked towards Karina and covered his mouth holding back a cry.

While Roy himself had first put his gun with some former men who he had recruited back.

The two blacks were outnumbered, they lowered the gun. Roy's men then secure the situation.

Karina herself was stunned by everything that happened. He did not think that he would stumble over a big problem. This is not just a dispute between a parent and a child but more than that. He looked at Roy's face. Now, he knew where the stiff attitude and tense face belonged to the man. Roy may often face unpleasant situations so he can not behave like people in general.
