NANDES: THE HEART BEGINS TO HEAL

We walked hand in hand. I clasped Dew's hand tightly as if afraid he would disappear from my sight. 

Where the hell are we going? We visited one of the biggest rides in the world. This is the dream he used to tell me. 

Dew dragged me to and fro with a happy smile on his face. Until finally he was exhausted and chose to sit in a garden chair. The dew looks at me with sparkling eyes.

" Thank you Nandes, we can finally get here together".

" yes. Whatever I'll do for you", I stroked her hair. 

After a happy walk. We returned to the hotel very tired. Me and Dew booked a different room. I don't want to make him feel uncomfortable with me. In my room I called my office secretary. 

" Please make an appointment with the CEO of G group. Personal invitation, after I return to Indonesia".

I heard the answer from across the phone, and then I hung up. I sat sipping a drink in my glass thinking about what I would do if I met Juan again. Am I gonna kill him?

I opened the door, Dew was standing there. Hugging his pillow "Can I come in?", Dew asked. 

" Yes, come in" I smiled happily. 

Dew goes fast and sits on the edge of the bed. It seemed like he was trying to overcome his awkwardness. 

" Would you like a drink?", I offered. 

"No thank you dear", Dew licked and then the atmosphere was silent. 

I took a seat on the sofa and faced towards the Dew. " Are you happy today?", I asked gently while researching her face. 

" I'm very happy of course. There's something I want to do right now", Dew looks at me. 

" Yes, baby. Say", I looked at him curiously. 

The dew biting his lips seemed to hesitate a bit" Can tonight....we sleep together....by doing nothing?", Dew asked. 

I'm a little stunned. " Are you really ready? Don't push yourself if you're not ready, baby", I walked up to him and sat down next to him. 

Dew smiled "I'm healing myself with you as the cure".

I smiled and hugged her "I'll treat you slowly".

And in the end I lay on the bed with her hands in my hands. We stared at each other, I stroked her cheeks softly with my other fingers. 

" May I ask you something?", I said carefully.

" yes".

" Why of all places, do you choose to go to the eastern tip of Indonesia?".

Dew thought for a moment "I don't know. When I saw the video of the children there was something that moved my heart. I feel like I should help them. When I was there I was afraid they wouldn't accept me. Turns out they were very nice, the kids I met every time I called 'the doctor's mother, the doctor's mother'. There was a sense of pride when I heard the call. When they were smiling happily because I had managed to heal them, it felt like I had already atoned for all the sins I had committed all along".

I listen as my fingers occasionally run down his cheeks. 

" I find my profession very useful there. Every time I finish treating someone, I hear the word 'thank you doctor' has become something more valuable than money. Ye know? I never lacked there. Maybe because what I did was a good thing, my heart began to heal slowly". 

I smiled at the end of the story. " Did you think you were going to come home and see me?", I asked again.

The dust stayed still for quite a while. " I miss you every day Nandes. I always look at your pictures. One of the biggest sins I'm dealing with is abandoning you. I know you hated me back then. Just thinking about meeting you, I didn't dare. I'm… ".

Dew caresses my hair full of love. " I will never leave you again Nandes", and then he kisses me gently on my forehead.

I started sleeping in his arms, asleep because of his voice. Feeling the warmth of his body, caress his hand on my face. I could really go crazy if he left me again. I tightened my arms and fell asleep in her scent.

After a 2-day vacation, we finally arrived at home. I drove the Dew to the house and straight to the office. Earlier the Dew gave a light peck on my cheek and hugged me tightly. Incredible progress in my opinion. I was beaming in the back seat of the car.

" The boss is happy to see you being so cheerful", Rian spoke while still driving.

I smiled "Is it very visible?".

" Yes, you can't hide it boss", Brian smiled slightly. 

I sighed "Rian you know. That woman is my life. I feel alive after he returns".

Rian nodded in understanding. "Boss, there's something I want to say. Someone's looking for the whereabouts of the mistress. Looks like the owner of the G group".

A smile was lost on my face "You sure?", I made sure again.

" I'm very sure boss. I know the man" Rian spoke with certainty. 

I was silent for a moment "Rian put someone watching the Dew. Don't get too close, if something is suspicious and freaks him out, destroy it right then and there", my voice is deep and cold.

" Good boss".

I stared out the window. As I thought, Juan couldn't possibly just stand idly by knowing Dew was coming back to my side. What he's looking for I'll make sure of myself when I meet him. That bastard, I will finish him off this time.

I sat in my office stretching, so much work I did today. I took my phone and called Dewun. 

"Hi dear", I greet her gently.

"Hi, you haven't come home yet?", Dew asked across the phone. 

" I'll be home soon. What are you doing?", I asked curiously. 

" I was soaking, my body hurt after a long journey. You are very excited to go to work. Said the company was yours but you were like an intern", Dew rambled long on the phone. 

I laughed in response. " Well, I'll be home soon". 

" Nandes ..", Dew called me.

" Yes.. ".

" After almost 2 months we are back together. I thought about it and strengthened my heart. There's something else I want to do with you", Dew spoke softly. 

" Is there anything else you want to do with me? Say", I'm curious. 

" You'll find out soon enough", Dew then hangs up. 

I knocked on the table slowly. Is there anything else he wants. What's to his parents' house? Right yeah. 

" Stupid Nandes, how do you like people's children but don't meet their parents", I ruffled my own hair. Stand up and walk out the door.
