Chapter 15 - Sickness

The next day, early in the morning, Nevan was home. A pretty big house with a big yard.

As Nevan was about to press the doorbell, the door opened. He was a little surprised. However, seeing if it was his father, made him relieved.

"Come with me" said his father.

"Then what about my suitcase?"

"Leave it here. Come with me now."

POV Nevan

Although I do not understand the attitude of father today, but I immediately obey his words.

I opened the gate first so Dad's car could get out. I closed it again after the car came out. I opened the car door and sat down next to my father driving.

His face looks serious. He didn't say anything either. The atmosphere is uncomfortable. I chose to start the conversation, "You told me to come home and I just arrived. But I told you to follow you. What exactly is going on? What made you tell me to come home soon? Is this about the demon?"

I look to shake my head. From that, I concluded that this had nothing to do with it. However, for some reason I felt thumping, as if something bad was waiting for me.

I tried to ask him further, "If not, then what really happened? There's no way my father would suddenly tell me to come home just because of a trivial matter."

"Your father tried to call you last night. But you didn't lift it. Alice meets the devil when she comes home from the supermarket. The devil is trying to eat it."

I was shocked when I heard Dad's story. It turned out to be true, her father would not have told her to go home if it wasn't urgent, "Then what happened to Alice?! Where is he now?!"

I started to worry about my sister. He can't fight. He also knew nothing about demons or blizt.

"At that time my father was on his way home and heard his voice in a quiet place. I can't say if it's a lucky thing. I was late to help him. When I got there, Alice was injured and passed out. There was also a demon attacking him.

He's a powerful demon and I can only get him injured without having the time to kill him. I took Alice to the hospital. That's why I keep trying to call you. Then after making sure Alice was okay in the hospital, I sent you a message to get you home soon" my father explained.

"Then, is Alice okay now?" I still feel worried about his situation. After all, Alice was attacked by a demon, not an ordinary human.

"She only had external injuries and it did not put her life at risk. But when he came to, he was very scared. After all, he had almost become a prey for the demons. I needed some time to calm him down last night. I want you to take care of him."

"Then leave that to me. I'll take good care of him."

Arriving at the hospital, I saw Alice lying in one of the rooms. His right hand was bandaged from the elbow to the palm of the hand. Seeing her like this, made me even more anxious.

While I was watching her condition, Alice suddenly woke up with a sweaty forehead. He looked so frightened as he looked around him warily, "Sister!!"

Alice immediately hugged me while crying, "I'm afraid she'll definitely come here. D-he's gonna hurt me again."

I was a little surprised by the sudden movement, but I immediately hugged him and stroked his head, "Calm down, he's gone. He's not coming back. Brother is here, so calm down.." I tried to calm him down. But it seems Alice did not hear my words. His body trembled in fear.

"D-he must be here. He's right here..! I'm afraid, I'm afraid brother.hiks.."

I can't bear to see her in such a state. He who is always cheerful becomes very alert and frightened.

I also calmed Alice. Even though he had calmed down a little, he still did not want to take his embrace away from me, as if I were going to get away from him, if he let go.

I didn't stop stroking his head and calming him down. Maybe it should be like this 'that's the one who just survived being the prey of the devil. However, Leon was not at all frightened like this. At that moment, the devil had just taken his heart. Or even.. The child hides his fear?

POV Nevan End~

At Rafa's house

"Huh. huh. huh.. huh.."

Leon covered his face with his hands. His face was sweating from dreaming of bad things. The moment a horned creature found him and pulled his heart out, made him feel like he was really going to die.

Kevin, who had just come out of the bathroom in the room, walked up to the boy and stood next to him, "Did you just have a bad dream?"

Leon looked at Kevin and adjusted his breathing well. He shook his head and kept silent without giving an answer.

Seeing Leon's face so pale, Kevin immediately touched his forehead. Both of his eyebrows shot up, "You're hot. Are you having a fever? Wait a minute, I'll tell Rafa."

Immediately, Kevin went straight down to find out Rafa was preparing food.

Upon hearing Leon's news, Rafa immediately turned off the stove and went to pick up the medicine box. Kevin also helps prepare water and cloth to compress.

The cloth is affixed to Leon's forehead by Rafa. But when he wanted to give him medicine, Leon continued to refuse and close his mouth tightly.

"It won't be too bitter. You just swallow it. You'll be cured soon after taking the medicine. Do you want to continue like this? Let's open your mouth. You have to take medicine to get healthy. If you want to drink it, I'll give you whatever you want" said Rafa.

Leon shook his head while covering his mouth with his hands. He felt dizzy, but he did not want to take medicine.

"Don't be stubborn, just drink it" said Kevin.

Seeing Leon still reluctant, Kevin takes the same medicine and puts it in his mouth. "You see? Not bitter, I'm fine too. You're just taking medicine, not poison."

"Look, Kevin just drank it. You'll be well soon if you take the medicine" persuaded Rafa.

After much persuasion, Leon finally opened his mouth and took the medicine.

"Well, what do you want me to buy? You've been drinking it, so you can ask me anything" Rafa said.

"I don't want anything" Leon replied while holding back his dizziness.

"Then I'll make you some porridge. Then I'll buy you a lot of sweet food. You like sweet food, don't you? Like candy and cake. I'll buy it for you later," Rafa immediately went downstairs after saying so.

He was the first to treat people with fever like this, because he had never treated people with fever before. He only takes care of himself when he has a fever.

Because Leon is sick, Rafa doesn't go to school. He prefers to stay home and take care of the child. Kevin was the same, but the reason for not carrying stationery and uniforms.

Even into the night, Rafa continues to take care of Leon while Kevin is asleep. He continued to change the cloth compresses until accidentally fell asleep on the edge of the mattress.
