"I don't know if he's been listening to us since," Felix said. His eyes were fixed on Ken, "He was indeed very sensitive. He's been here since, but he can tell if someone isn't sleeping. Can it be called an ability?" his inner.
"Did he try to provoke so blatantly?" inner Kay while glancing at Ken.
Melvin took a breath and looked carefully at the 4 demons one by one, "Are you guys seriously going to make us bait?"
"Why? You don't like it? You don't take it?"
Felix and Kay gasped when they heard Ray's provocative speech. They looked at him inside.
"From the beginning, you'll die if we don't come. When we were planning to make you guys bait, wouldn't that be considered paying back the favor? We've kept you alive for a while longer" Ray continued with a cynical look.
Ray stood up and walked over to Melvin. This made the man wary. Melvin shouldn't have believed the devil this fast.
With a flat countenance, Ray said, "Why surprised? Humans kill demons, but when treated unkindly by us, you want to protest? Not accept? What do you think, this world is yours, even including our demon world?"
Ken leaned against the chair. He looked at Melvin from here even though the man's body was slightly obstructed by Ray, "So what's your decision, chief? You're gonna fight us, get your subordinates out of here and survive out there looking for your niece and nephew?"
Ken folded his hands behind his head and leaned back with his hands, "But you have to think about this, chief. After hearing that original purpose you said, will all your subordinates obey you immediately again? Are they just going to ignore your true goals? Maybe some of them do, but some of them may not obey you anymore. Because we don't know what other people's minds are like."
Melvin was silent when he heard Ken's words. What he said has a point. Up ahead, perhaps all of his subordinates were seen still supporting him. But what if some of them actually rebel?
"Working with us as bait is not so bad," said Ray indifferently.
Melvin raises next to his eyebrows, "Cooperation? Isn't what you're doing using us?"
Ray walked back to his seat and said, "No, this is cooperation. You will be tasked with being bait to pull many undead in one place. Then at that time, I'll burn them all. But not with you guys."
Melvin frowned. He watched the head-bound young man who was now sitting down, "You mean?"
"I hate humans. But I'll be kind this time. When I throw fire and burn the undead that swarm around you humans, Fel will protect you with a protective dome so as not to catch fire.
It's just that, until the undead are gathered together, you must survive alone in the middle of them all."
Melvin paused for a moment and said seriously, "You said this is cooperation. Then if we were bait, what would we get?"
"You guys?" Ray blinked. He looked towards Felix as if asking for advice from him.
Felix flinched as the gazes arrived. He shook. Though he thought that Ray had considered everything well. Turns out he was wrong. Ray is Ray.
His view is now on Melvin. Seeing the serious expression of the man made him pause for a moment, "If you guys want to be bait, then I'll let you live."
Melvin frowned. That was not at all the answer he wanted to hear, "Let us live? Doesn't that mean you'll kill us if you refuse to be bait? This is not cooperation, but coercion."
Felix folded his arms around his chest with a smiling expression, "Then why? Isn't it the same as cooperation? We've helped you once, and now it's your turn to obey this little request."
"He has no idea and tries to make the interlocutor accept his words" Kay said.
"What if this... If you want to be bait, we'll get you back to the human world" Ken added.
Melvin looked directly at the place where someone had just spoken. He was stunned by that speech. His expression became even more solemn, "I've tried to bring all my comrades back to the human world. But it can't. Are you sure you can do it? What are you guys gonna do?"
Felix looked at Ken seriously, "Isn't that too big for them?"
"Well.. That's if they want to be bait. After all, this could be done if they were still alive. Being bait and fighting the undead in the middle of the creature, is it able to survive or will it die?" reply Ken casually.
"Is that true? Can you take us back to the human world?" sergeant Melvin.
Ken nodded with certainty. He pointed at his comrades using a gaze, "They are all.. Also know how. I'm not lying. Whether you want to believe it or not. It was your decision."
Felix was a little surprised, but immediately neutralized his expression, "You sure? Against the undead themselves?"
Melvin nodded.
Kay, "By bringing in your subordinates can increase your chances of survival as long as you don't care about them while there."
Melvin looked at the cold-faced young man with sea-blue eyes, "I don't want them involved. I've done enough. But promise me one thing. When it succeeds in wiping out many undead, send my comrades back to the human world safely."
"It can be done" Felix said quickly.
Melvin sighed and nodded, "I'll do it."
"All right! Later in the morning we will immediately do it," Ken expressed his spirit as if this was something to look forward to.
Felix looked at Kay and Ray, he got a nod from both of them. He nodded, "Live as long as possible for many undead to come. Ray and I will be with you, but we'll be watching from afar.
As for Ken and Kay, they will be here and guarding your subordinates. After exterminating many undead, we will bring you back to the human world."
"No, just them. If my.. Can you come with me?"
Melvin's question jolted Felix, "You want to find your son and nephew?"
Melvin nodded, "Yes."
"I don't care as long as you can be a little useful in the future and not be a burden" said Ken.
"But... Got a question for you. Answer it honestly. The group that came here must not only be you. There should be another group. How many people enter this world?" ask Kay with a serious look.
Melvin was silent for a moment, "They are. 70 people including us, are divided into 7 groups."
"Gee.. Apparently a lot too. Greatable.. Then you've killed most of them in an instant huh?"
Ken's words that spoke clearly made Melvin strengthen his fist. Although he did not kill them, but it could be said that he killed many blizt indirectly.
"That's it, there's no need to cut it. After all, as long as he wants to be bait, it can already keep some people alive" Ray said.
The morning has arrived. Although it did not show much sunlight, there was little light entering through the gap of the black cloud gap, unlike the day before.
As planned earlier, Melvin became the decoy to pull the undead. Then Felix and Ray stood on top of a tree, quite far from where Melvin was. They hide their existence well even though they know that the undead know the existence of living people not from the air of existence, but the heat energy released by humans or demons.
"It's not very useful. If fishing them with just one person, the undead would appear more at Kay and Ken's place. Because there are more living things," said Ray while looking far ahead. "It's not what I planned. Why would you accept if he was the bait?"
"Because the real target to exterminate the undead is not here, but Kay and Ken's place. You go there nan–"
"What?! When's? When did the plan change? Why don't I know?!" Ray is upset.
"Oh, don't protest. We'll also clean up the undead here. We'll come late to their place for the undead to gather more. After all, the two of them had also expected it. You're the one who doesn't understand the situation."
Ray grumbled indistinctly. He admitted, he always did things according to plan, so never expected other plans from his colleagues that were not said.
"I always lose. Huh, my face, my abilities, even my brain are not as good as yours. I admit I'm ugly, unlike you guys!"
Felix blinked and shook his head, "If you don't like flirting with women or using that headband, you look good."
But unfortunately, Ray did not listen and still grumbled indistinctly, even out of what should be protested.
