Tidying Up Asa, Inviting Hidayah

Tidying Up Asa, Inviting Hidayah
85. Due to Wrong Send

“Sometimes you benefit in the dark of the night, what you do not gain in the brightest of days. You alone cannot know which is most beneficial to you.” (Ibn Athaillah in the Pearl of Al-Hikam)

Jenar glanced at the annoyed man who was driving beside her. He had already prepared the question, but had not had a chance to bring up. Because, since getting out of the minimarket parking lot until now the car has been driving on the north ringroad road, Hara is busy talking to someone on the phone. The man seemed to ignore the whereabouts of Jenar in the car, nor did he give any explanation as to how he could suddenly come to pick her up.

Jenar felt bad for Aina. Forced to go home first and leave his best friend with the one who is being avoided. Chat and phone from Gus Hafidz alone was not responded to by Aina, now instead had to meet in an unexpected situation. Somehow Aina's fate is now.

Jenar let out a long sigh, throwing away the urge to ask. Looks like Hara's not going to end the phone call yet. The man seemed very engrossed in talking to no one and talking about what. Just a few words he accidentally heard.

“I'm not in Jakarta right now, offer to others only.”

“I’m on vacation, now. I'm on sabbatical, there's another job here.”

“It’s not your business, you don't need to know where I am.”

Jenar sighed again, this time more violently while casting a glance towards the side window. It managed to tease Hara from responding to the caller. He turned to the left side for a moment, right when he had to step on the brake pedal because it was in the queue of vehicles that were stopping.

“Too young, Lex! You know I don’t play with a girl.”

Hara chuckles, “Oke, send pict! I’ll call you latter.”

After that, he removed the earphones because the call had ended. He only realized that there was someone else in the car who had been ignored because he was too busy responding to Alex's offer. The car in front of him started moving, a sign that the traffic light had turned green.

Hara glanced at Jenar. He was a little distracted because the girl was solemnly looking outside, but had no idea to start a chat. Until he saw a picture of an advertisement on a billboard.

“We stop by to eat first, I am hungry.” he said while pressing the horn so that the rider in front of him immediately move. He was not hungry because he had just eaten at school.

“I want to go straight home, it's night.” ketus Jenar without taking a look.

“In front there is a restaurant, you can all pray there.” Hara guessed Jenar had not prayed, because it was stuck the motor broke down from earlier.

“My clothes are dirty, have to shower and clean first if you want to pray. Anyway isya’ time is still long.” replied Jenar, remained without changing the viewing position of the side window. It seemed like the scenery outside was more interesting than staring at the person who asked her to speak.

“Are you not hungry?” Hara remembered the time she had come earlier, Jenar and Aina both displayed tired faces. The two girls must have been having a hard time because the bike broke down.

Jenar let out a rough breath, turned her head quickly towards Hara while saying ketus, “Can we just go home? I've been waiting at home.”

Hara turned her head for a moment, about to confirm the earnestness of Jenar's words by looking at her. However, two seconds later he deeply regretted the action. Because, accidentally he stared at the sharp highlight that was pointing at him. The same clear that made him choke on the coffee this morning. The brownish bead that made him misbehave during the trip from Aneesha's house to the clinic. Also made him not calm during taking care of the name of the land letter and immediately followed to the clinic once his business was completed.

‘That's an eye or a crystal, anyway? Very clear.’ Inner Hara in heart. Only this first time he saw a brown eyeball so clear that it had a sharp highlight, almost making the heart loose from its place.

Hara cleared her throat while opening her eyes many times. Trying to restore the focus of driving, even though the heart is being irregular. He tried to shift his feelings by picking up and wearing earphones, then making calls with a cell phone. Because, do not want to look wrong behavior just because of seeing the crystal clear eyes of Jenar.

“Mbak Sayumi? Arrive late tonight, I was picked up because I ran out of buses from Yogya.”

“Ya, later if it is near I call.”

Hearing that, Jenar who had already turned her gaze to the highway, so turned her head again to the right side. He stared in disbelief at Hara who bothered to call Ma'am Sayumi without her consent. Shortly after, Hara had turned the wheel to a restaurant, also without asking for her opinion. Really, making Jenar could not stand Hara's own free attitude.

“Pak Hara ngajak eat so that I do not protest, because you have conspired with Gus Hafidz earlier?” accuse Jenar, after Hara parked the car in the diner yard

“Do not original accuse!” argue Hara. Without caring about Jenar who was grumbling, he got out of the car

“Where did Pak Hara know Aina's motor broke down?” ask Jenar. He got out of the car, waiting for Hara to circle the car.

“You who told me,” replied Hara briefly.

Jenar shook her head, remembering that she did not tell anyone about Aina's motorcycle breaking down. He just sent a chat to Pakdhe Teguh.

“Pakdhe Teguh told you to pick me up, why tell Gus Hafidz too?” Jenar caught up with Hara who walked into the restaurant, leaving her just like that.

“Do not original accuse!” Hara repeated her answer.

“Where did Pak Hara know Aina's motor broke down and I was waiting at minimarket?” Jenar asked but remained in an accusatory tone.

“You asked me to pick up because Aina's motor broke down, also tell me where I am.” Hara stopped when she had just entered the restaurant, looking around to find an empty seat.

“Good night, Sir? Dine-in for how many people?” greet a thin-looking man.

“Two,” Reply Hara briefly.

“Let me intersect,” Hara nodded, following in the footsteps of the man who was an employee of the restaurant. While Jenar can only resignedly follow the long steps of Hara.

“What do you eat?” ask Hara.

“Terusah.” Reply Genar briefly by throwing your back on the seat back.

Hara ordered two servings of fried chicken, complete with sambal and lalapan. He also ordered asem vegetables, fried tempeh, black coffee for him and warm sweet tea for Jenar. Until the food is served, Jenar feels at home in silence. The girl had not even touched the food and drink at all, even though Hara had already started eating.

“My religion teaches, can not silence the food that has been served. I think Islam is also so, even better to prioritize eating than salat.” Hara quipped by saying the contents of Kyai Ali's lecture that he had heard at a glance.

Jenar threw away the face, belittling Hara's sentence which did not correspond to the real hadith intent. For he was very well memorized by the hadith of the Bukhari priest who said. ‘When dinner has been prepared, then start with it before you all pray maghrib’.

The purpose of the hadith is, if dinner is available when I hear azan magrib sound, then you should first eat. Because it is feared that if you prioritize prayer, it will reduce the solemnity due to hungry stomach and thinking about food. However, Hara was also not entirely wrong, let alone she only heard a glance and did not study the contents of the hadith as a whole.

“Still thought I was conspiring with Gus Hafidz?” ask Hara in between meals. He deliberately raised the fried chicken, intending to show Jenar how delicious and tender the chicken was by biting it with full of passion.

“Before accusing, try to see your phone first! I pay everyone who eats here, if it is proven you do not ask me to pick up and do not tell me where.” said Hara with fixed eyes on the food in front of him.

Jenar was moved to obey Hara's words. He opened the bag to get the phone. Although sure not to ask Hara to pick him up at all, but he was also very curious how the man could suddenly come.

Jenar let out a frustrated breath when she realized her phone was dead and could not be turned on at all. Definitely because it runs out of power after a day of use, while he never brought a backup battery charger.

Hara raised her head while asking, “There's proof?”

“Hp I die, battery runs out.” ketus Jenar.

Hara shook her head, holding back a smile to see Jenar's annoyed face which she thought was funny. This was the second time he had Jenar sulking, and it was a pleasant thing for him.

He reached into his pocket with his left hand, to pick up the phone. After opening the messaging app, he then reached out to Jenar. Hara accidentally pointed the last message on her roomchat with Jenar a while ago.

“Try checking, this is what send chat really your number is not?” ask Hara after making sure Jenar read the sent sentence himself.

Jenar widens the eyes while bringing the head closer to be able to read the writing on the screen more clearly. He picked up the phone, without caring about Hara's hand which was still on the screen.

Time and time again Jenar read the chat, also opening the contact information. Want to make sure that the one sending the message is really him. He then remembered when he was panicking because Aina's motor broke down and the engine could not be turned on. At that time, he thought of asking someone for help and what came to mind was his pakdhenya name. Because, he knew for sure that Pakdhe Teguh would want to help. Never mind just picking up to Yogya, in the past even Pakdhe Teguh had picked him up to Surabaya just because he wanted to vacation at Mbah Uti's house. Pakdhenya it is like a super hero who does not have the heart with a nephew.

‘How can I mistakenly send to Pak Hara's number?’

Jenar thought again. He was walking with Aina pushing the motor while sending a message. When looking for Pakdhe Teguh contact number, he only type three letters namely P, A and K. Because he was panicking, he was not aware that what he was trying was Mr. Hara's number.

‘Yes, Alloh!’ jenar cursed herself inwardly, closing her eyes. Feeling embarrassed because he has accused the no-no when he himself sent the wrong chat.

“When I read that chat, I was with Gus Hafidz, finished filling out studies at a wedding. Therefore, I just called you, ask where, keep coming directly from the place of study. No way, right, I left Gus Hafidz to pick you up?” clearly Hara who actually makes Jenar more upset. How could the man not know if the chat was sent wrong?

“Oya, since when did you change the call to me from ‘pak’ to ‘pakdhe’? Last morning instead of still calling sir, right?” Hara frowned, as if completely ignorant of Jenar's mistake.

Jenar put the phone on the table, her palms clenched to hold back the annoyance. Hara is very smart and can be relied upon to do anything, but why in this case it becomes so innocent.

“Why did Mr Hara not say that I sent the wrong chat?” jenar said, holding back his wrath by tightening his teeth.

Hara put on a made-up plain face while answering casually, “Where do I know you sent me wrong? I am not psychic.”

Jenar clenched two hands into the air while clenching her teeth, furious mixed in embarrassment with Hara's relaxed demeanor. In his mind he wanted to knead the man before him until the calisthenics, then divide into small circles. Hara's sinless face made her want to turn the man into a mini doughnut.

“This is to be eaten no? Fried chicken as good as this is left alone, if until the house is hungry and there is no food is not my fault, you know.” said Hara casually while picking fried chicken that is still intact belongs to Jenar.

Jenar snatched the perfect brown fried chicken that Hara was holding. Read do’a quickly, then start eating. He deliberately poked sambal a lot, meaning to dispel the heat of the heart by eating spicy on the tongue. While Hara hid the laughter by eating vegetables, it was nice to see Jenar eating voraciously mixed with frustration because of her actions.

They both do not know, that sometimes good comes precisely on bad things that are not desired. That is how God carries out destiny, according to the best according to Him.
