Tidying Up Asa, Inviting Hidayah

Tidying Up Asa, Inviting Hidayah
103. The Birthday Surprise

🌹Every day changes, then reduce our age ration on earth.🌹

String.

The alarm sounds clinking loudly. I took the bolster to close my ears, immerse my face by holding the soft object tightly. Eyes are still reluctant to open, the cold makes me lazy to reveal the blanket. Five more minutes. Yes, I used to set the alarm on my phone to go off five minutes before the qiyamul lail call came from the mosque loudspeaker.

It felt like there was not five minutes, again a loud noise. This time I can be sure it's not the alarm sound, but the ringing of the phone. I clenched the bolster tighter, avoiding that deafening sound. When do I ring the phone? I usually set in silent mode every night. Which prankster calls early this morning anyway?

I tried to ignore the floundering phone, but never stopped. I had to open my eyes, squirm to eliminate laziness. I looked all over the bed, just me. Did Tumben Sayumi wake up first? Usually she would not wake up if her husband had not knocked on the window of the room.

I glanced at the clock that was attached to the wall of the room. The short needle points midway between the numbers two and three, while the long needle is two points leaving the number three. I rubbed my eyes, dispelling the drowsiness that still reigns. The vibrating sound and ringing of the phone still sounded without pause.

“That's a big cry, anyway, phone at this hour. Just be careful if it is not important.” I extend my hand, take the phone on the nightstand.

I frowned, once again having to rub my eyes so that the view would not blur. A line of names is listed on the caller screen.

King of Birds Calling ….

I snorted, looking at the screen that continued to display the name and photo of the annoying boy. As if I didn't have a job was that kid who lived in a military dormitory, so called me this early in the morning? The king of birds has no rules!

Slide the green button, lift the phone lazily.

[Wake up, sleepyhead! Open door!] the voice of the annoying boy that sounded when the phone was connected.

“Heh! Who are you asking to open the door? Open it yourself, fuss greatly!” ketus. Without excuse I hung up the phone, slammed the phone on the bed, then pulled back the blanket. It is better to curl under the blanket while cradling bolsters than to serve a boy who does not know the rules.

Just two seconds into the body, the ringing of the phone was heard again. I tried to ignore it until I died alone. I exhaled a sigh of relief, closing my eyes. Bored must also be him, wrong itself interrupts my precious sleep time. Let him wait outside until sunrise, I don't care.

Just as my eyes were about to fall asleep, there was a knock on the window of the room. Slowly getting louder accompanied by a typical whimper wrapped in narcissistic boy sucks.

“My beautiful sister is matchless, please open the door, dong! No pity on your sister who just escaped from this hostel?” phallus sounds like sticking behind a window. It makes me not open my eyes, too.

“Kak Jenar, please! Open the door, yes! Your handsome brother almost froze in the cold.” The phallus whined again as it banged on the window getting louder.

I exhaled, forced myself to grab the blanket and woke up. With eyes still lazily open, my hands fumbled around to find a hair tie. I squirm, then lower my legs. Fortunately, the floor of the room is made of wood, otherwise the cold must directly touch the skin.

“Mbak Say! Please open the door for Lingga!” I shouted while rubbing the rough face, because drowsiness still perched.

There's no answer. Did Miss Sayumi secretly come home while I was still sleeping, huh? That is, is there only me alone in this house? No one can shout Lingga. Just be careful if Ma'am Sayumi dares to leave me alone, I will report to mother to be fired.

“Kak! Cepetan open the door! I've been so cold.” The phallus screamed back.

Astagfirullohal’adzim! Why is that kid so annoying, anyway? Why try to come early this morning, like there is no tomorrow. Oho! Couldn't she really run away from the dormitory? Whoa! Gusti Prabu could be furious if he found out.

“Kak! Sleep again, huh? You sleepyhead! Couldn't, anyway, get up for a second! Open the door, after that sleep again? I was cold to these bones, soon it must be an ice sculpture I.” grumbled Lingga still while banging on the window with an irregular rhythm.

“Iya, wait a minute!” I shouted, for the boy to stop banging.

I stretched my neck and hand muscles for a moment, then moved. With a shunt step I approached the door after grabbing the hijab that was draped in the hanger and wearing it original. Once again I exhaled a rough breath, before turning the door handle.

I've arranged various absorbent vows that I will say to Lingga later. However, all was scattered when the door opened and a shocking view was presented in front. I had to rub my eyes many times, not believing what I saw.

I don't know how many people are standing at my doorstep, surrounding the grinning Lingga carrying a birthday cake. The atmosphere is dim, only coming from the light of the candle stuck on the cake in the hands of the phallus. I was speechless, my mind was busy tidying up. Haru yelled, so I had to cover my mouth with my palm. Tears were dipping unbearably to hear the happy birthday song sung in unison.

“Blow candles! Blow candles! Blow the candle now, now .... also .. now also ....”

Lingga thrust a cake at me while saying ignorant imitate the style of a cigarette advertisement, “Speak three requests!”

The sound of laughter was heard. My reflex pinched Lingga's arm, until she complained. Squeeze tears with the back of the hand, eliminating blurring in sight.

“Pick blown, bullet melted this candle!” exclamation Lingga. He shifted his body, standing to my right.

“Make a wish first, Deck!” This is my dear brother's voice. Brother Neesha stepped forward, then stood beside my left.

I closed my eyes, inwardly saturate a series of do’a of safety and the blessing of age. The urge to blow the candles back came from everyone, after I cupped my palms to my face.

Once blow out all the flames that burn the candle wick out, but the interval one second later lit up again. I blew it again louder. However, the same thing repeated, the candle re-lit. Until I repeat it three times, the candle cannot be completely extinguished.

“Kok, don't want to die, anyway?” grumbling. Lost already haru taste, changed half annoyed because it never managed to blow the candle.

“Less tight times, try once again!” lingga Suan.

“Happy birthday!”

“Happy birthday!”

“Happy plus age!”

One by one the people congratulated me, starting from Lingga who was embracing me with his muscular arms. It was only a few months that we did not meet, it felt like a lot of changes with my sister's body. Now he is taller and the fat in his body has turned into all muscle.

Then Brother Neesha held out a bucket-shaped banknote, and hugged me. After a while, Mother gave a warm hug that I always missed. Dad did not miss, kissed my forehead while muttering do’a blessing. Behind the father there are Budhe Sari, Pakdhe Teguh, Mbak Nanda, Mas Faiz, also Mbah Uti, the last is Reyfan. Don't forget Ma'am Sayumi with her ignorant smile, looking very happy managed to surprise me early today.

Getting congratulations accompanied by hugs and do’a from the dear big family, no doubt make me touched. The tears that had dried up were dripping back, sliding unstoppably.

“Ih! Brother is already this big still crybaby!” ejek Lingga while tightening the embrace.

Instead of being angry, I felt even more overwhelmed. I buried my face in the chest of my sister's field, deliberately using her shirt to wipe my tears.

“Astagfirullohal’adzim! Slovenly brother!” The phallus grunted, but it was getting closer and closer to me with one hand. The other hand still holds the cake.

Laughter echoed throughout the room. The gentle rubbing I felt on my back probably came from the hands of Sister Neesha. I lifted my head after I was satisfied to cry, then hit the chest of the Linga.

“You did manage to play big brother, Dek! Wearing drama scream almost froze all cold. Intentionally make sister can't keep opening the door, right? Fuckin' bad brother!” grumbling.

Linga terbahak, “Only I have never failed to wake up Kak Jenar, the sleepyhead!”

I pursed my lips, because the Lingga's words were true. The boy always managed to force me to wake up from a deep sleep.

“Try if earlier yelled Brother Neesha, or mother. Not going to wake up. Moreover, father, can-can Kenar just answer ‘hem’ continue to sleep again.”  The phallus grumbled, exposing my immunity to be awakened during sleep.

"Don't be sleeping in a comfortable room, in a public place alone Jenar can sleep without being disturbed by the fanfare around,” Neesha added.

“If there is an earthquake or a night-night fire, nih. Others have been busy diving, Jenar is still drowning in dreamland,” this time mother grumbling, must remember the struggle to wake me every morning.

“Things like this are usually safe, ma'am. People have been hit mentally, blood pressure rises due to panic, Jenar Mbak still relaxed just do not know anything.” Ma'am Sayumi commented.

“That's why dad didn't let him stay at the boarding house. Imagine if no one woke up, it could have never left for college because of bad luck continues.” Dad brought up a logical reason not to let me ngekost.

“But Genar is most fun when invited to go, because the whole trip always sleeps soundly. Unlike Aneesha who keeps whining, ‘already until not, Budhe?’ or Lingga that can not be silent, ‘Pakdhe, we want to go where, anyway. So far, no shortcut what?’ Nanda even drunk travel.” comments Budhe Sari.

“Ih! Evil, yes, you guys! Deliberately showing my ugliness.” my grumbling pitched annoyance.

Everyone was laughing, the sound of laughter filled the house. Early today, the house of Brother Neesha who is usually quiet suddenly became crowded. The habitation which usually consists of only two people - me and Ma'am Sayumi - is now a gathering place for large families. I never thought I'd get a nice surprise like this on a birthday that I rarely remember. The newness also burst out, swerving in my heart, tickling me to pull both ends of my lips.

“Thank you for giving this surprise, did not expect you to remember this special day more than myself.”, I said raucously, staring one by one the people gathered in front.

“Whose idea, anyway?” I turned towards Lingga and Brother Neesha in turn. Compact they point at each other, don't want to confess.

Who else would have planned this kind of thing if not them? Somehow Lingga came out of the dormitory, and Kak Neesha came all the way from Jakarta in a state of enlarged stomach.

“Anyone with ideas, thank you very much. Love you all.”

I leaned my head on Lingga's shoulder and left hand grabbed Neesha's waist. My body must have been producing more dopamine this morning, because I felt so happy. There is nothing happier than being able to get together with the whole family without anything less. The infinite gratitude is embedded in the heart.

‘Alhamdulillah, Yes, Alloh! Thou hast bestowed thy graces on this anniversary of my birth.’
